You hit it on the head. Man Utd used to have a "never say die" attitude that made them almost irresistable to support. It was also why the legend around Fergie Time appeared. Man Utd would play 120% right up to the final whistle.

A "European Glazer" would know that they're entitled to run the club like a business and even make a profit from it but that profit comes in the form of an exit strategy, after you've delivered success. They would know that United aren't the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and you don't get to just take money out every year without delivering on success. That breaks the social contract between owner and fan.

Verón was not a flop! Verón was a great player. It wasn't as successful as people dreamed it would be, but he was still a very good player.
Problems were that Utd changed their system to try fitting Keane, Scholes, and Verón in all together and that didn't quite work out as hoped. Another difficulty was that Verón's English wasn't good enough. He was a vocal player and leader in Italy and Argentina. Keane always points out "characters in the dressing room." That part of Verón's game was stifled at Utd because of the language barrier, plus Keane was already the vocal player in midfield. Verón still played very well. The team just wasn't as successful as they could've been, or as they had been in the 3 seasons prior.

It’s no wonder why all those mangers failed they weren’t give the tools to succeed because there more to it than how much money you spend like the recruitment department being poor leading to bad signings and no director of football to help the manger. United were having people in charge who were not only self aware of the state of English and European football to forsee and adapt to subtle changes, but were also creative and imaginative about tactics, training methods, and player management. Over the last decade, everything has been so "reactionary" to what others were doing and it led to over a billion wasted with no major trophy (no premier league, no champions league). I don't think INEOS can reverse it unless there is gradual and merciless replacement of the existing squad, with meritocracy and respect of the club as the core values needed.

At times I feel bad for Manchester United’s downfall. Under Sir Alex Ferguson with footballing legends they were dominating the premier league year in year out and not only did they have phenomenal players, they had leaders and players who would fight for the badge and do everything in their power to win. Now they’re a laughingstock and ever since Sir Alex Ferguson retired, they’ve become a squad full of mercenaries who get signed underperform yet get paid a lot of money no matter how they play. From fallouts with players, consistent managerial changes, poor recruitment, having one good season, yet come back down to earth, they seem to have many problems that cannot be resolved.
Every big signing bar Bruno Fernandes has flopped at Manchester United, but none of them come worse to Antony. How do you pay 100 million for a winger only for him to go 12 months without a premier league goal. The guy is nothing more than a fidget spinner meaning that every time he has the ball, bro is spinning in circles more than he’s actually trying to dribble a player. What about paying 80 million for a 30 year old, only they can do that. Other signings like Harry Maguire Romelu Lukaku Paul Pogba Memphis Depay Jadon Sancho etc, have all flopped. They can make a world class player look very average. For example, Alexis Sanchez during his time at Arsenal was one of the best players in the premier league, yet was a shadow of his former self at Manchester United. Someone like Wayne Rooney was excellent when he was at Everton and he became one of the best players on Manchester United’s history. More of the same from Cristiano Ronaldo not much to be said about him and from that you now have a 100 million spinner who has gone over a year without scoring in the premier league. It’s nothing more than a graveyard for players and every top player they sign, seems to flop. What ends up happening is that they try to get rid of them, but they can’t do they because their wages are simply too high. They’ve overpaid for these players in terms of wages and transfer fee and this is a mistake that they can continue to make over and over again and that’s part of their problems. It’s obvious to me that Manchester United needs a serious overhaul of the squad because that’s not a football club at all it’s a mess that cannot be resolved.

Thanks for pointing out that sacking another manager will not fix United's problems. For me more than half this team needs to be sold. If Ten Hag was brought in as a long term manager to rebuild the team then the owners have to give him the time to do that, and do it with players who want to play for United, not just collect a fat paycheck. People forget that Fergie struggled in he's first few season at United, to a point where he was almost sacked the season before winning our first premiere league title. It's time the players started facing the consequences of their poor performances and stop blaming the manager.

I don’t quite get the logic of this video. Football works in cycles and some longer than expected. No one can tell me that since Fergie retired that Man U are not as big; I would argue they have got bigger and for me the biggest club in the world. Real Madrid are a great club and in terms of achievements it stands on its own but Man U operate in 01 The best league in the world, 02 The most competitive league in the world, 03 The richest league in the world, 04 The best run league in the world.

There's no way Ronaldo is the one you used as a standard for someone that said the truth about what's happening in United.
He did it for his own PR and ego. I love him but I don't care about him. His return was one of the worst transfers in current Premier League history.
Whatever nonsense he said, there are millions of fans who have been saying the exact same thing since 2010. Ralf Rangnick literally said it many times the season earlier.
You can't just walk off to grant an interview to Morgan, just because the Manager has taken you out of the limelight.
For a person that saw the absolute best of Fergie and played under him for years, Ronaldo disappointed us all.
I'm not here to worship his pop
