The fact Zidane and Real Madrid three peated in the modern era doesn’t get talked about enough and is INSANE to me.
Honestly imo the greatest dynasties of all time were;
Madrid 1955-1962
Madrid 2014-2022
Barca 08-2015
Milan 1989-94
Ajax 1970-1973
same goes with Man City constantly winning prem. When you start winning constantly, it becomes normal. However, after another 4-6 years, with looking at it from perspecitve, more people would understand that it was ridicilous

Appreciate every time and every generation. Because it only comes once. If you spend your time reminiscing the old glory day, you might miss the great moments of the present. As a Real Madrid fan, this era felt almost too good to be true. To win the Champions league once is a monumental task. To be the Champions of Europe for around 1000 days straight is something I don’t believe will ever be seen again. As a teenager during this era, there was a time were I genuinely forgot what it felt like to see Real Madrid lose.
If you are from Madrid can you tell if you hate Ronaldo or not??

I think the biggest factor in that 17/18 UCL run is that Ronaldo scored 11 games straight including every single group stage fixture. unlike the previous two campaigns, there were several games where it felt like almost no one turned up to play but once ronaldo scored they came alive.
the most underrated player that season though was Marcelo. He was the reassuring voice for ronaldo and the front line who had a dreadful start to the season. Ronaldo was goalless in the league for like the first 2 months if I remember correctly. Marcelo kept creating and he added goals back to his game just like his early real madrid days. dude had almost all the big assists to either tie the score or give the lead. and his performance against bayern was special. really underrated for me.

@@genocidejoe Yeah they were fantastic too but they did not go underrated. Modric won the Balondor that season. Kroos received plaudits as always, inventing a role that premier league teams like Liverpool would imitate and win the UCL with very next season. Isco was on top of the world that season. Everyone remembers his perfermances not just for Real but for Spain, especially against Italy.
He scored in 10 games in a row. The 11th came in the last year final. He had 17 in 11

The reason this Madrid team is not considered the best of all time is because there is no consistent visual style of play. People will say Pep's Barca was greater because they have that La Masia Tiki Taka identity. Klopp's Liverpool philosophy is gegenpressing. But Madrid does have a philosophy - winning. Winning no matter what, so fluidity. Being able to bend and stretch to greay length. They will counter attack you to death, but they will also possess. They can press you like crazy, but they can sit deep and absorb. They will give moments of individual brilliance but also be organized and put a team effort.
When Madrid was a favorite in the final of Lisbon, Atletico scored an early goal and sat in a low block redusing to give freedom. But Madrid eventually battered them 4:1. But they were in a completely opposite situation against Liverpool in Paris final. They scored and withstood Liverpool's storm. This is fluidity of a winner.
But is this the mentality of Real
I’ve been an avid Real Madrid fan all my life. I’m also from Costa Rica, and I can tell you that Keylor Navas being part of that team was a source of national pride. His performance against Bayern in the semi-finals in 17-18 and Courtois’ heroics against Liverpool in 21-22 are the greatest displays of goalkeeping I’ve ever seen.
I’ve been a Madrid fan since I was five and this span of time was genuinely one of the happiest periods of my life as a football fan
My personal favorite season is 16/17, that season everything was perfect. The 1st team was great, substitutes were amazing (Vasquez was GOAT in important matches) , young players were thriving. That team was amazing
That mid 2010s Madrid team was absolutely dynastic. I've never seen anything like it, and probably never will. Yeah, definitely lucky to have seen it happen.
Great video. As a Costa Rican viewer, Navas is the most underrated keeper ever.🇨🇷🇨🇷♥️♥️
I've never been a fan of Real Madrid, but I don't know if any other team will be able to repeat what they did between 2014-2018. At the same time, my grandpa who was a huge Madrid fan passed away a few years prior to that and I was kinda sad he didn't live to see them win three consecutive CLs.
That is so cool. It would have been amazing if he saw Madrid dominate the CL like in the 50s. Deeply sorry for ur loss. Grandparents are irreplaceable.🥲❤💗

This team should be in the shout for the greatest team of all time. 3 consecutive champions league is a triumph
this team was loaded with great players at each position but what separated them from other teams was their mentality. from an attack like BBC to the midfield with kroos, luka and case, to the back 4 led by a captain like ramos. they played with that confidence that they would win every game and when it came to the champions league they were too locked in to lose. CR7 was dropping world class performance game in and game out in the CL but they also had depth off the bench with guys that they could easily insert and they would produce. it was unfair how good they were during this time. a 3 peat in the biggest club competition was no coincidence.
The only reason Busquets, Iniesta and Xavi were dubbed better is because of their success while playing for both Spain and Barcelona. Casemiro, Kroos and Modric are equally as good as them.
Also because they won the treble twice which included a sextuple

@@Dinoo1234 winning 1 is hard
probably won't happen again, we probably won't see any team winning 2 in a row for a very long time let alone 3 in a row. Mind you since the competition changed format and renamed to Champions League in 1993, no one has been able to even win 2 in a row until 2017.
Well there’s no player like Ronaldo who constantly scores hat tricks in the most important UCL games playing for a top European club
It’s crazy that every single year they weren’t touted as the favorite team to win

Zidane created a midfield by moulding Modric, Kroos and Casimiero or James Rodriguez until 2017 or Isco into a midfield powerhouse creating a possession based counter attack form of play with dynamic triangles and some of the best pivots with a solid defence and killer attack.
Not many people realise how Zidane with Kroos and Modric accelarated Real Madrid's counter attack. They developed a solid unshakable mentality under Mourinho. Zidane used that mentality to his advantage just like Carlo but created a dynamic team instead of a physically dominant team

The 14/15 season didn't start poorly. In fact, Madrid were league leaders for the first half of the season, they demolished Barcelona in that season's first El Clásico, and as was mentioned in the video, they even went on an unreal winning streak. Things started to fall apart after christmas. Although, reaching the UCL semis and finishing just 2 meager points behind Barcelona in the league maybe shouldn't be seen as a complete collapse.
When Ancelotti got sacked after that season, every madridista stood up for him as we felt he'd been treated unfairly by Florentino Pérez. No one really wanted to see him leave, not even the players. And to top it all off, Pérez hired Benítez as Ancelotti's replacement. A manager who started his career at Madrid, but did not really share Real Madrid's true values such as playing attack-minded football. Dark times indeed...

Great video, i think that varane deserves more recognition tho. I remember when madrid was losing an important game ramos played as a striker for the last couple of minutes and carva and marcelo were almost 2 more wingers, specially marcelo. This meant that if case didnt stop all counter attacks early, which he would usually do succesfully, varane had to stop the attack almost entirely by himself. He was the perfect cb to do that as he would often outpace strikers like dortmund aubameyang or mbappe. To this day i still havent seen a defender as quick as him.
