How To Turn Siren Chirps On & Off, Compustar Alarm CM7000

  • How to turn confirmation chirps on and off (Silent Arm/Disarm) on a Compustar car alarm with a 2-Way remote. I'm using the Compustar T9 Remote Control, but this will work on all 2-way remotes such as the 901-SS, T10, T11R-SS and T12-SS.
    ➡️ There is now a THIRD option beside Enable/Disabled for "1-16"! It is called "Silent Alarm." This will page the remote, but lights and siren will NOT sound and flash when the alarm is triggered. Hold Trunk Button for 3 seconds (instead of tapping unlock) following the 16 chirps to select this. It may not be available if your firmware is too old.
    ➡️ I show how to program the Siren Muting option to enabled using the remote control, for newer models this option is disabled by default so turning the siren chirps off will result in an error until this option is enabled. The programming will likely be required for all models flashed with the latest firmware.

      @@felixcruz6829 Yep, it will fail on newer ones unless you do the programming. Dealer will do what I show in the video to enable it by changing option 16 in menu 1. On older ones, menu 1 option 16 didn't exist so it worked by default.. but they decided for some unknown reason to make it difficult. I got the T9 also, you won't be able to turn the volume down just make it vibrate.

      Once the lights finish flashing:
      Option 1 = Lock
      Option 2 = Unlock
      Option 3 = Hold Trunk for 3 seconds
      Option 4 = Tap Key Button
      So "Hold Trunk for 3 Seconds" is the 3rd one. which would be 120sec

      Your unit can't be programmed by remote. Passive, and siren chirp etc, all options should be available through the weblink. The seller should be able to guide you how to download the software and connect to your unit, you will need a laptop and connect the cable to the remote start module, then you will get options to set chirps, passive, etc.. it's quite expensive though considering all you get is to set some options. It's unfortunate Compustar didn't make these options remote programmable.

      Yes you can do your own programming if you feel comfortable. These procedures are outlines in the installer manuals which you can find online. They recommend the installer do it because they're experienced, but with the current situation, I think most people will be trying to do as much as they can on their own.

    • @CleverFix
      @CleverFix  Před 3 lety

      That's strange. The car is unlocked when you're trying this right? Normally the "play back" happens after a wait period.. are you getting a chirp on each press 3 times in a row? Have you tried 2 presses and then waiting? Almost sounds you're in a different menu, but no menu has only 3 options.

Compustar told me they don't trust consumers to do programming and said to visit an installer... I will try two - but sometimes it results in the alarm going off for a short duration. I need to drive to a place where nobody cares - or pull the wire off the horn.

    ( czcams.com/video/rx4GBc76Ym0/video.htmlsi=BXZPQjG4gnQEfqgw )
    is it normal for the car alarm not to go off ?

    • @CleverFix
      @CleverFix  Před 7 měsíci +1

      There are 2 stages to the shock sensor. If the first one is triggered, then the car makes a few chirps and the remote sounds. On the second level the alarm is triggered fully and the car siren sounds for 20-30 seconds.
      So yes it could be perfectly normal if the bump was not too hard.
      It's also possible for the siren to be set on "Silent" in which the car siren will never sound, but the remote will.

    • @CleverFix
      @CleverFix  Před 2 lety

      It's likely the parking lights turning on and off, rather than emergency lights. I know it's hard to distinguish between the two. It's on page 29 and 57, in the manual images.idatalink.com/corporate/Content/Manuals/COMPUSTAR/CM7000_Full_Install_V3_15_2016.pdf Option 3-01 . The instructions are all there but you'll have to do some reading,...
      You have program group #3 feature #1 (Parking lights While Remote Started)
      To enter group 3 it's (Lock + Key for 3 seconds then Lock + Unlock for 3 seconds) that will get you in Group #3. Then tap Key just once, and WAIT until it chirps once and parking lights flash once.
      Then tap Lock for Option 1 which is parking lights ON, OR Tap Unlock for flashing. OR Hold Trunk for 3 Seconds for Lights OFF.
      I recommend going over the instructions to get familiar with the process and make sure you program it correctly.
