In this video we will cover the symptoms of bad blend door actuator. We will explain the most common symptoms of bad blend door actuator based on our experience at the shop. When blend door actuator starts going out you may notice clicking and noise coming from behind the dash when you first start the car or when you change the heater setting or ac settings. When the blend door actuator quits working properly you may notice that the heater may blow cold air instead of blowing hot air and the A/C air conditioner may blow warm or hot air instead of cold air. This will be caused because the blend door actuator will not be able to move the gate that mixes hot and cold air behind the dash. If you have dual climate control you may have 2 blend door actuators, one blend door actuator will control the driver heating settings and the other will work for the passenger side. when the actuator is removed, should you be able to turn the knob that controls the flap? mine does not move at all, and I have hot air out of 3 vents and only a little AC from one vent
This didn't solve my problem but it made things alot easier to understand, talking to my mechanic friend won't be as confusing now.

Great video. My 2015 Mustangs heater was all over the place... hot, cold, nothing... but the blower worked. Thought it might be the blend door actuator but it turned out that it was something totally different: A small leak in the radiator house drained the overflow reservoir to the point that it tripped the "low coolant level sensor". This sent my heater wacky. Temp fix: Fill the overflow reservoir. Permanent fix: Replace the hose.

Hey bro can you please help me. On my alfa 156 2002 with digital climate control. Air mix flap is when heating always stuck on hot. I put my head down and saw the air mix flap motors on the both side they are when I put on 23°c it always slowly goes up and opens on 33 (hottest) so what's the problem the motors or the climate unit
So glad I found this. My 2015 Elantra makes a clicking noise when I leave my ac on when I go to start my car
When I drive on the freeway and reach about 60-70 MPH I hear a clicking cricket sound noise...is it possible for this to be the problem even thought it doesn't seem to have anything to do with how I set the heat/AC? It only happens when I reach 60-70 miles per hour.

if my temperature is at 80%+ it sounds like ticking like the fan is hitting something, goes faster when the fan is set faster, if i put the temperature colder at the same fan speed the noise dissapears, could it be this thing doing that?
My dash constantly clicks whenever the defrost is on, both hot and cold. I know you can't give any guarantees or anything but, do you think this could be the cause?

for your info, there are 3 door actuators on Fiesta: 604-400 Mode actuator (driver side), 604-251 Air Inlet (behind the glove case) and the 604-322 Temperature actuator (at the left of glove case near controls)

I have a older 98 ford Taurus as a commute car, recently it started lightly Ticking behind dash , if I move the temp control knob just a little bit towards warm, the ticking stops, if I move it back down it starts ticking again, even though fan is off, would that be also the same part to check, driving me crazy, thanks...
My 2006 Mazda Tribute the A/C only comes out of the Defrost vent and NOTHING out of the dashboard vents . Is this part the problem ? I don’t understand why no air comes out of the dash vents , but cool air does come out by feet and windshield. Thanks

Would another symptom be that the blend door moves to cold, but does not move open to hot fully?
my car blows warmish air when cold is selected, also i can hear there is some random actuator moving when no buttons are being touched, very hard to know which one because it never does it when i take the trim off but i think it may be the blend door actuator. thanks
My blend door works perfectly for about 20mins or longer and then it cycles open for 20secs and closed again on. Then 3 mins later it does it again. You think it's the actuator or a bad temperature sensor?
Just changed my temp sensor and still having the same issue on and off. Also accompanied with a clicking noise so I’d say it’s probably this. Hope you figured it out
My 2011 335 completely stopped throwing heat. I checked hoses to heater core and warm, there is never heat, the car reaches temp normally so not thermostats I’m starting to think it’s this

My ac blows cold first start of the day for like 20 mins then the more I drive the hotter it blows does that mean it’s the blend door actuator? My rpms also rise when it starts to blow hot air
Check your ac fan/radiator fan. It may also just need more freon
Ac fan or if you have diesel engine maybe your main fan is lack of silicon oil

Does is blow hot when the AC is on? All the time? If it doesn't try leaving your car's temperature setting on cold when you're not using the climate control. I feel the heat when I leave my car in the heat position as well.

@@armando6315 yeah maybe it's the vent selector stuck open to outside air? I think there's a flap behind the cabin air filter for outside air maybe it's stuck open with debris?

I have a similar problem in my 2009 Ford Fiesta. I've tried to change the Heater Flap Position motor but the problem still remains. The Heater Flap Position motor is working but instead of only opening/closing a percentage of the door according to the set temperature, it only fully opens the blend door in the High mode, but if I turn it to 28º or 27º, it automatically fully closes the door. It should only close a bit, and only if I set the temperature to 16º (minimum) should fully close the door. Do you have any idea of what the issue could be? Thank you!

Wanted into take it to a shop but that constant clicking noise was driving me crazy I didn’t want to wait anymore so I worked on it myself and yeah it was a little broken gear that was the problem. Got it replaced. Wasn’t too bad the only hard part was getting to it

I purchased a 2010 Nissan Armada. I called the dealer and explained what that the two vents on either side of the steering wheel are blowing cold and passenger vent is hot. I explained this over the phone and dealer wants $3,000 impossible amount of money.

Cant you just change the motor inside the blend door actuator.i tried cleaning it now imma get another motor for maybe $10 instead of paying $80 -200 for a replacement

@@wilsonganks Did you ever figure out the problem? I have this issue on my Impala but I'm thinking more of a partially stuck open thermostat since sometimes it can blow nice and hot and then sometimes it blows very luke warm, almost cold.
@@ViperJay5 I figured out mine after ridiculous foreman asked me to change every other part. the culprit was just simply, the thermistor. A cheap small part usually located near your cooling coil.

Hey, it's the 👵🏼. It ended up being a flap behind the glove box ,& debris from tree's. So...A.C. fixed w/$15.00 & a U TUBE video!! Thank all U guys for making these video's! I was quoted $1,000. to fix it! ( rip me off)❤

@@scorpzvapor2814 Hey,Im so sorry Im NOT tech savvy,& dont no how to get video to U. 😫 The actuator problem mimics the same deal as if u go thru the glove compartment on 2004 XLT Ford Explorer. Try glove compartment 1st. Leaves & debris get caught in there,& that flap can b loose,or fallen down completley.
My car is making a scratching noises underneath my dash.
Question, my temperature is stuck on cold on my vehicle (heat will not blow out even if you set to heat). Also there is about a 1 minute delay of the ac panel turning on (no air will blow through the system and the led panel which usually shows what temp and if the air is blowing to the feet or face is completely blank until that minute or so is up then the panel will turn on and the cold air can start blowing) would that also be the blend door actuator causing that?

Maybe check to see if there's a connection loose behind the control knobs.
If you make a calibration and the actuators doesn't move, than is shout out.
