In this video we will show you how to test blend door actuator and to make sure that your blend door actuator does what it is supposed to. When blend door actuator start going bad they will get noisy you will hear some clicking from the dash especially if you change the settings on your heater ac climate control. In some cases you can manually test the blend door actuator in others you can use computer for the diagnostics. There are usually a few blend door actuators that are part of the hvac system. This way you will know which blend door is bad and needs to be replaced.

2010 Maxima dual zone heat / ac - why might my actuator only make the noise upon start-up when cold, then stop for the duration of the drive, even if I change modes, etc?
hi i teat my blend door actuator and it does move on hot and cold both but still no heat on passanger side while driving side is ok i check coolent and it's full what can be the poblem ? my car is hyundai i30 thanks

Tapping noise was coming from underneath the dash. After further investigation, I noticed that the noise was coming from the blend door actuator, and so I replaced it.
Now, there is no noise, nor is there any movement. The blend door is stuck in defrost mode.
I also moved the blend door large gear prior to installing the actuator in order to properly align the actuator gear.
I tried doing a hard reset by removing the battery cables from the battery and touching them together for 15 seconds.
Any suggestions would be great!4
So I Uninstaller the temperature actuator and plugged it back in and it turns .. so its working ... the one that dies the vents works .. what else could it be? Help
WOW bmw x5 has about 13 different ones. How can I test them. The floor and top heater is blowing hot air while the back and middle section of the air condition blows cold air.

If you took the time to fkn read I'd bet ya find a scan tool to plug in and place an app on your Android to do the same might be gm specific but I know there under 300 bucks hell if simple were stupid yad know there's insurance companies with the scan product get INS for 6 months maybe 10 bucks more a month than ya pay now n wallaaah. I gave up purchasing new cars 10 years ago and have purchased our last 4 cars used. Chrysler/Dodge have always been problem vehicles for me even when new. The Avenger I bought new is coming up on 200,000 miles now and the auto climate control system and air conditioner aren't working. My problem is that the A/C will not come on and blows warm air. The A/C system has plenty of pressure but the compressor doesn't come on, likely because it has plenty of pressure no? The other problem is that when the temperature knob is adjusted gradually the temp coming out of the ducts doesn't change until it reaches a certain point and then becomes way too hot for the temperature setting. I'm not sure if I have one problem or two going on. Any advice is appreciated.
I really enjoy working on vehicles but unfortunately I'm getting a little bit old to do some of my own work anymore, like messing with blowers and actuators :- (
That Maxisys looks like a great tool = $2500. If I had purchased this 15 years ago I could have gotten my money's worth out of it!
I only buy used Toyotas. Never ben disappointed. I have a 4runner that's 20 years old, looks and drives like new, everything works and no interior noise when I'm driving.
Used Toyotas have problems too.
Fast forward if it matters to you . . . The Dodge Avenger from 4 years ago has well over 225,000 miles.
The way I fixed the hvac problem was to take it to a repair shop for a diagnosis. They told me they tested everything and that some orifice was clogged. $1,000. I said no. About two weeks later I turn the ac on and it works. Cold cold air so I try the heater. It works perfectly. Not sure what their diagnostic process was but the car has been doing fine since then.
My 2002 Audi TT changed recirculating actuator v71 and it still doesn't work any thing else I can check?

What to do? I figured out the main vents won’t open or close as the actuator wasnt working.
So I replaced the blend door actuator and it still won’t move.
Which means (99%) it’s not getting signal.
The fuses look OK so what is the likely issue?
Could you please do this video covering a 2003 bmw e46 blower actuator please? I can’t get my vents to change from blowing strait out of the dash. No feet or windshield heat. Also only getting heat while accelerating. Goes cold when I stop driving. Thanks ! Great videos !
Did you fix this and what was the issue? Mine is the opposite and stuck on the windshield, no feet or dash vents working. I think it’s a blend door actuator..
@jak3brap10 mine too. I saw a video of a guy manually switching his actuator open in order to redirect the air to the front vents. Unfortunately it was to a Chevy, and I have a BMW E60 😢
I have a rav4, the fan turns on, air comes out, it does not send a signal to control the vents, nothing to handle, cold or hot, any position, then defrost in front of the feet.
Is it true if one door blender is bad on Dodge Journeys it can affect entire heating/or cooling switch over? Someone said they are all synchronized and if one fails can cause make switch over fail?
I don’t think so my issue is that it won’t blow out the main vents Hot/cold, recirculate, and defrost all work. I don’t have that diagnostic so I’m hoping to find a way to calibrate it without it
Any ideas on the rear heat/ac not working? Front works beautiful but absolutely nothing in the rear.

I’ve got a 2009 Chevy cobalt. The vents would only blow cold air and no hot. I replaced the thermostat and it didn’t work. I replaced the blend door actuator yesterday and the heat started working and this morning the heat won’t work anymore. Any ideas what could be wrong

Mine is blowing hot on the driver side and cold on passenger side any idea?
Which one control the airflow out the vents.
Blowing motor is working,heat and cold is working.
But not blowing enough air to all vents
You may just need to replace your cabin air filter
It’s on the passenger side top left I’m having the same issue. For whatever reason I can get it to move to defrost but it won’t go back fully to the main vents, I’ve taken the actuator apart and lined it up but still no dice, have you had any luck?

I told my mechanic that my Cadillac ATS acutator is bad he said let’s add Freon and drive for around a couple days my driver side is still blowing warm air. 😒😒😒 now I have to go back… could he have just put it on the computer to see if it is bad?

Yes I took both plastics off the bottom of the dash and gain access to eachside of the radio and there is motors to each unit air for top of dash and air to bottom once you locate both just spray wd40 on both and instantly winning

It will just get to those 2 areas and you will save a ton of money with the great feeling of accomplishment lol with the reward of freezing cold air ... also after you feel this working pop the hood and locate the area you put the freon in and take a little screw driver or anything that has a small tip , just put a little pressure the pin ' take cation and allow just a spit second of freon to flow out and it will allow the lines to blow freezing cold air to the vents and remove and build up in the lines ( again just a split sec and cover your eyes do not press the pin with your face over the area lol
