    I dont normally comment on these videos but I just wanted to say this was really well done. I loved that you showed the basic troubleshooting steps that can be used on any car. Then your explanation of the repair was very clear and you even showed the failure point afterward. Well done.

      @@justdoityourselfHello, if I have the same problem but in reverse, I turn on the heater and warm air comes out. Do you think it is the blend door actuator, the problem?

    I can't thank you enough for this video. We inherited a 2012 Altima a couple of years ago. The evaporator core was leaking and the dash was badly sun damaged, so I found a used dash in great shape and tore the whole front apart and replaced the entire air box (new from Nissan dealer wholesale online) and dash and vacuumed/recharged the AC. Ever since however it has been stuck on AC, which if its going to be stuck on anything in TN is better than heat. The service manual doesn't explain the controls and actuator, and parts diagrams all show 2 different air mix actuators without explaining the dual/single zone. Since we've had a recent cold snap, I looked again for answers. Your video is the ONLY one that plainly, expertly explains this. Long story short somehow the actuator on the new air box I installed wasn't installed properly from the factory. Once I took the actuator out and manually turned the deflector door to cold and the controls to cold and reinstalled the actuator, everything works as should. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

    I have a 2017 altima sv, what do you do if the screw holes don't line up when you go to put it back in. 😅😅. Not a new one, the old one? Only three screw holes match up.

    • @justdoityourself
      @justdoityourself  Před 11 měsíci

      There are only 2 screws located diagonally, so only 2 holes are actually used.

    Thank you for this video. I have an issue where the face vents will not blow only sometimes. Winshield and feet vents work. It will blow feet vents even on face vents. During research it seems i need to replace the mode actuator. Could you explain where that is inside? Thank you!

    • @justdoityourself
      @justdoityourself  Před 4 měsíci

      Based on what you described, it indeed sounds like a mode door actuator. It should be in the driver's side with several linkages connected to it.

    Do you happen to know what I can check on a Nissan Altima 2014 s model, not a dual control ac system. Driver side is blowing hot but the passenger side is blowing ice cold. Coolant has been flushed and refilled by mechanics,compressor has been changed before and condenser. If you can give me any ideas I would really appreciate your knowledge and expertise I do Uber as my only job right now and I can’t even take rides out of fear ima give someone heat stroke 😢

      Hi! Sounds like a blend door actuator is not working on one side. Same procedure as in the video, but for just one side.

    My 15 Altima has a bad controller but after replacing it the rear defrost button is flashing but the blend is now moving. Any idea why the rear defrost button is flashing now?

    • @justdoityourself
      @justdoityourself  Před 11 měsíci

      Usually rear defrost is flashing if one or more blend doors cannot calibrate. Good scan tool would show the problematic blend door.

      @justdoityourself  Před rokem

      Most likely you will need to get it from dealership or used one somewhere. Don't know the part number for 2015.

    What would be the issue if the air mostly only blows from the foot well and barely from the face vents, and you fix the issue sometimes id have to turn off and on the car

    • @ljdumel
      @ljdumel Před 2 dny

      Would it be the blend door actuator or the blower motor? Or and other issue

    How about if my car blows colder air on the passenger side and blows room temp air on the otherside?

    • @justdoityourself
      @justdoityourself  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Sounds like you passenger side works correctly and driver side blend door is half way open/closed.

  • @massarms4583

    So there was only one blind door and it's on the passenger side even with dual climate control?

    • @justdoityourself
      @justdoityourself  Před 2 měsíci

      With dual climate control there will be 2 blend doors and one mode door.

  • @evdure
    @evdure Před 8 měsíci

    Thank you for the time and energy you spent in creating and sharing this video. excellent analysis and troubleshooting. I have a similar issue w/a 2016 Altima not blowing hot air. The car responds positively when switching to various blower setting directions, AC works fine. Temp gauge is normal, no overheating issue to speak of so I don't its a thermostat issue. Both inlet/outlet heater lines are both hot with no meaningful temperature differential so the heater core may not be an issue. On heat settings however, system is only blowing cold air. the incident happened rather suddenly so I suspect it might be a stuck blend door actuator as well. Your thoughts?

    • @justdoityourself
      @justdoityourself  Před 8 měsíci

      Thanks for your comment! Sounds like you are right. If the heater core is hot, but no heat gets inside the car, then most likely it is the blend door issue.

    Hey, I just changed my ac compressor thinking that was the cause of my ac blowing hot air, but now it’s blowing cool air and the ac line is cold, can you possibly know wats stopping it from blowing cold air?
