Finally.... someone else who understands just "strolling" through the junk yard looking at cool shit! Most my friends and certainly my parents think it's super weird but that's where I learned how to wrench and take apart Jeep engines before tackling mine. Cheers from a current WJ 4.7 and ZJ 4.0 owner. Only Jeep people could ever understand !! Subscribed

I go to the junk yard to get 1 or 2 parts and come home with all sorts of stuff for other vehicles as well LOL. Often times I find new parts like many people trying to throw parts at a problem they don't know about and in the end they scrap the vehicle and leave all those nice shiny new parts on them.

here's a golden comment look for X auction vehicles with stickers on their windshields they usually have the newest Tires and Brakes and other parts on them from the dealer because they need them to pass inspection or attempt to pass inspection before they actually sell the vehicle but when they can't sell the vehicle ,the junkyards will probably buy it cheaply . NICE VID BTW

one thing you can do when looking for tires is to find the date code which should be four digits - the first two being the week of the year - the second two being the year. So for example the code (3118) would mean made in the 31st week of 2018. This way you can know how old the tires are that you are buying.

I don't always hit big when I go to u pull its, but 1 time, I managed to get an undamaged OEM 1996 Camaro SS spoiler and the hood with the airbox, all for less than $175. Turned around and sold them for over $800. Couldn't believe I got them and nobody else did, maybe they thought the hood was aftermarket, but when I looked underneath it had the "Made in Canada" stamped on it so I called my friend with a truck and grabbed em.

They are between $1-$5 each at the yard, $120 for a new pair and can easily go for $60-$100 on Craigslist depending on condition. What happens to difficult to remove parts ? My old Nissan has a power steering leak - so I need to get a cheap replacement power steering rack from somewhere. The problem is to get at the power steering you need to drop the exhaust and the center member (and support the engine / transmission). Difficult or impossible I think in one of those U-pull Junk Yards. So I'm kind of curious what happens to those kinds of difficult to remove components ? Do they just get crushed with the rest of the car at some point, or do they actually get removed by some intrepid parts hunter ?

@@aronka9871 We are on the corner of Morris and Warren ourselves and we have to go to Harry's in PA. there are three locations. in order of size (and distance from us) Allentown, Pennsburg, and Hazleton. Hazleton is the best, but really far. Pennsburg is ok and reasonable. Allentown is small, but the closest. Check the inventory online before going to allentown as sometimes they wont have what you need.
