  • I ventured to the yard to track down a rare and valuable Jeep part... the grill to a 1998 Jeep Grand cherokee Limited 5.9L AKA The Niner! Along the way I hoped to find some tow hooks for WJs, XK Commanders, and WK Grand Cherokees.

The early model neon was one of the best cars I’ve ever owned. Great on gas, the weight balancing was so awesome it didn’t get tail happy in the winter. You just had to make sure to change the oil and keep and eye on the temp gauge.

Lots of comments on the 5.9. And they are all right on. Especially the hood louvers, but also the leather seats front and back. I have a nice 5.9 we just finished upgrading all the suspension. There's a market for all things exclusive to the 5.9. Hell I've bought some stuff just to have a spare.

Surprised not to see any comments about the electric fan. Unique only to the '98 5.9, not used in anything else. Highly sought after by the offroad guys. You can pull the the entire upper and lower wire harness, coolant tube with couplings and switches, plus the fan. Total plug and play setup for any 96+ 5.2 V8. Beyond that none of the parts are made any more so they are good to grab just for people with a 5.9 looking for replacement parts. Go look up those parts on Ebay, it's nuts.

Long bed camper shells for Rangers, S10's and Dakotas apparently are pretty rare to find....so far I've found a couple but have of course been damaged to the point they're of no use. Plus I'm hunting for a set of wheels for my 88 Bronco 2 as well as the ones that are on it currently are somehow all bent, I guess the previous owner of my Bronco 2 did a lot of curb hopping or something to bend up the wheels on it....the tire shop was able to get them balanced but mentioned they're all bent, so I need to track down a set of wheels for it....found a set of Aluminum Mag wheels a couple weeks ago with almost new tires on them for $140 for my 87 Ranger so hopefully I can find some 15 inch mag wheels for my Bronco 2 here soon.

I've had good luck selling lift parts. But denver overpriced market. And as gross as the zj was the door pannels were worth a bit, as well as the hood/luvers. Also check headlights, if they are glass they're worth a lot.

That neon might be an ACR, a model made for racing, only came in 5 speed manual, with a front slip differntial. Mostly came in 2 doors. Lots of performance parts and weight loss program, if is a real one. That is a big 4 cylinder engine. I think it had 150-160 horsepower. That was big numbers at the time.

Man I live in the south. These Jeep parts are plentiful. Someone make me a short list of the most sought after parts I'll go pull all I can find and ship them to whoever is interested. Grills, hood louvers, tow hooks, we have it all becuz not many people down here care for keeps. Our biggest thing is Tahoes and Yukons

2002 and later gauge cluster won’t work in 2001 and older. Can’t remember what was wrong but maybe warning lights on incorrectly. I tried it a couple years ago. 01 limited are the only white face gauge cluster that will work in 99-01

The 5.9 Limited has a specific front bumper along with the grille. Was the hood there? The air extractors would be cool . . . That "hooned out" XJ looks like S-10 springs in the back. Definitely not OEM front either. Those ZJ tow hooks brackets look factory. Jeep was really good about bracing those. !Get a cordless impact! A life changer. . . Yes, the Japanese cars deserve NO respect. I am with you there. Thanks man, already SUBscribed!
