I didn’t even know this was a feature that we had on the switch
I didn't even want to post to twitter. I just wanted my posts to appear in the plaza in Splatoon.
One thing to note when transferring to PC over USB. I recommend doing it one folder at a time if you have games with similar names that include colons. For some reason, Windows doesn't like colons and will remove part of the folder name when moving the folder, which means you can end up with screenshots from several games in the same folder which, depending on how many pictures/ videos you have, can be a bit of a nightmare to sort through.
If you have one, you can also copy them to a micro SD card and then move it to another device with a micro SD card slot (or use an adapter).
Damn, downloading to phone isn't awful but it was pretty convenient to upload straight to Twitter. I mean it's not like I NEED to post anything, not have i ever gone back to watch old videos or look at old photos, but it's frustrating they gave us a tool and then are taking it away
I didn't know about downloading straight to pc. Looks convenient, I gotta try that!
Aww man, that kinda sucks for me personally, as I regularly like to post my gameplay clips directly from my switch to my Twitter account. That QR code option is a pain to use! Guess I'm gonna have to dust off my laptop then.😅
I figured this would be a good workaround
I have been using the data transfer method for a while. I just like how I can just post right on the fly in the middle of the game I am playing.
While having to upload photos and videos directly to Twitter is quick, but I'm gonna miss it. At least there are alternatives that don't require to remove the microsd to get the photos (although how the Switch did for QR scan is basically copy/pasting the images onto your phone, not true transfer. You still have the original in storage unless you delete it yourself).
I'm genuinely surprised people didn’t know about this, I use this feature all the time when I wanna save screenshots or videos to my phone
With the QR code for the password, my wifi settings has a QR code scanner that gets the password and puts it in automatically. I am gonna miss posting from my Switch though, it was one of the first few thing I did when I got my Switch back in 2017.
I had no Idea you could transfer via usb cable!
thanks!
Could this mean switch 2 introducing a new miiverse??
Honestly, I hope not. I don't want to get addicted to the Miiverse degeneracy again🤣
I stopped posting the screenshots and videos that I capture on Switch to Twitter from directly to the Switch itself a long time ago, since it's a lot better to just save them onto your mobile device and then post them on the device that you saved them to. Same thing with Facebook.
Oh great just what we needed another data transfer of photos again.
Hey. Having issues with the mobile transfer. It didn’t work even when I did turn off my data.
What’s the issue?
Now w/ extra steps.!.!
Mobile and Switch did this to Pokemon UNITE
So the day after Pokémon Internationals in NOLA.
whats the bgm in this vid i swear it sounds so familliar
Mine never had a password when i did this🤔
THANK U BIG HELP
I did this already all the time
are there seriously people who didnt know this
It was patched in a year or two after release, so some people thought the only way was the "plug the SD card into a reader" method
Nintendo: "Ugh 😒, Twitter Stinks Im Leaving."
I'm lucky that I used from the start FB
At least I can use the emojis on the mobile devices, on the Switch, they don't have those
Splatoon fans, WE WON!! 🥳🥳🎉🎉🎈🎈🎊🎊🥳🎉
If you’re a Mac user, you can conveniently see all your captures and videos in the Photos app by just connecting the Switch with the USB C cable.
Yes that was one of the methods mentioned in the video
@@hock_100 I believe they only mentioned PC using the documents folder, in Mac there’s a Photos app.
Nintendo like taking features and stuff away if sony did that you never hear that end.
Sony did remove their Twitter support on Playstations late last year.
Surprisingly unsympathetic comment section. I concur.
Turning off mobile data hasn't helped for me
Belzer
Is Facebook still an option too?
I guess
Yes
Twitter is going away and people are acting like that's a bad thing, lmao.
X by the way is garbage already.
My left hand loves twitter
Are you left handed?
Cool! You're left-handed like Link in the older series.
Twitter sucks so, it doesn't matter
I agree.
must be bc of the increased API expenses far outweighing any benefit this offered, assuming nintendo didn't have a deal in place :/
So if you don't have access to a cellphone or USB cable you're screwed...great...
not necessarily
1. if you have a camera for your computer you can use that to scan the qr code
2. you can get them wirelessly without the qr code by connecting to the Switch's hotspot and going to the link the same way you would with the qr code (as shown in the video)
3. you can also take the micro sd out of the Switch and put it into your computer
statistically people are extremely likely to have one of those things around.
@@yanipheonu I have neither one
@@hock_100 I don't know how to scan on a laptop, even if I did my cam's covered and I'd rather not have to remove anything from its place
@@mike_havens then the other two methods I mentioned should work
Great this sucks. I used twitter for this so much. I don't own a phone to do that method. I also do not like to connect anything to my computer. I did with my old computer and now its dead
You don’t connect anything to your computer? How are you posting this?
@@hock_100 Its called wifi. I meant I don't connect other devices
@@WindUpTsukumo yes and wifi connects your computer to the router (another device) which connects to the internet
@@WindUpTsukumo do you have a micro SD card in your Switch?
@@hock_100 wifi is different then directly connecting something else like my switch
Miiverse 2 announcement alongside Switch 2 later this year?
One can hope
A Miiverse 2 would be a cesspool.
Miiverse 2 ani't gonna happen.
Miiverse 2 will happen
@@AzumarillConGafasBv are you confident that it will happen?
Nah screw twitter anyway you can always use Facebook which has the same feature and is less toxic
RIP Splatoon3 posts
no we should keep the feature dead this is a good change no need to try to be rebellious
what's wrong with informing people of how to get the most out of the features on their device?
How to post your Switch screenshots to Bluesky then.
Hey, maybe the Switch 2 (name pending) will have an "upload to Bluesky" option.
Let's be honest. Is anyone actually upset about this going away?
Boomer energy but Twitter sharing was the only way I could always get it to work 😂
I think this sucks, a lot of people loved to share on twitter.
Not me
Where else do we "share" them?
no, Nintendo unknowingly brought miiverse back because of Splatoon
Easy wat just take snap the screenshot. Better than doing lame Nintendo help, lol.
😡
Eh, whatever. I don’t use X anyway. (There better be no World War 3 in replies, or else I’m pulling the “Am I the only one who” thing)
Twitter sucks anyway.
I agree, nobody likes my epic gamer clips.🤣
@@SegaDisneyUniverse Me too.
Is Twitter uploading still allowed until June?
If so, the title is a bit misleading
Edit: thanks
Nintendo should stop making discontinuations. And what is people gonna say when they find out that their Twitter or X accounts have been hacked by this news?
I don't use Twitter. I always use my SD Card when gathering some stuff from the Switch.
Thank you for this video! I had no idea I could use the switch pro charger to connect to my computer, this is so much easier than that other method!!
I didn't know about the USB transfer. I'm about to get hella memory back, thanks 🙌🏼
Meh I don’t really do that anyways
Man, Twitter cannot catch a break anymore, huh?
I use Facebook.
me too, X Twitter cannot be posted until Nintendo Account is fulfilled
I wish there was a different wireless way. The way my phone is, I have to switch back and forth between my WiFi connection, and the connection to the switch. Also, for whatever reason, the built-in camera app doesn't pick up QR codes, so I have to rely on a third party app or Google Lens.
I never knew we could use cable to transfer data to PC. I've always used micro sd card adapter.
pro controller charger
got it!
A part of me is saying "What about the microSD card? I know it's slow, and you may have to turn the whole system off, remove the microSD, and plug that into an adapter, but still, that's the best way on the 3DS."
Then again, the fact that the Switch can directly connect to a computer makes things a lot easier.
With exporting being an option, we aren't losing Twitter. Just a lazier way of doing it.
Anyway, X (fmr. Twitter) is now garbage when Elon Musk bought it.
