Julie Adams was beauty and great actress, who was sadly underrated. She was with us until one year ago when she died at the age of 92 on February 03, 2019. “Good night sweet lady & thank you for the many wonderful movie films and tv shows that displayed your enormous acting talent!”
My sister and I were just talking about the only case Perry Mason ever lost. Julie Adams was the client. She was innocent, of course, but she lied to Perry and that came out in court.
this happens. it just happened not too long ago in Utah. a young mother lost control of her car went off a bridge. her baby girl was in the back baby~seat. no one saw the Accident. almost 16 hours later the baby hanging upside down just inches from the water freezing. Someone saw the car reported it. the first responders we in no hurry they thought the car abandoned. Then they heard her. Yelling "Help Please my baby help her help. they went running over all of them heard the Mother yelling. The found the baby barely alive. But Alive. Her Mother Died in the Accident. Who called out? Who was yelling for help? it was her Mother. she could not go without her baby. either being saved or to pass. So her baby would never be alone. a mothers Love does not recognize death. it never stops. not even after they do.
Mad honeybee I agree with you wholeheartedly A Mother's Love NEVER dies!! I have always believed that we Mother's can & will PROTECT our babies even AFTER death!! Those last 3 sentences you wrote are the absolutely most Beautiful words I have ever had the pleasure of reading!!! Wishing you nothing but Laughter, Love & Light
I agree when my mother passed away that night I lay down in my bed felt someone sit on it next to me I believe it was my mother she was putting her hands through my hair I had been crying it was like I could hear a voice it's okay I'm alright and I'll see you again true story I was 40 at the time
Unbelievably, I just read about this article a few hours ago, totally unrelated to watching this show 4 years ago. And then I got referred here by the reply to a comment I made on this episode 4 years ago. In other words, a few hours ago, I'd have skimmed over your comment. Now I know exactly what incident you mean. A co-incidence, ironically worthy of this show.
Some of us enjoy old shows that try to explain interesting and unexplainable incidents other than the fiction that is unbelievable.I dislike the modern computer graphics and the digital television broadcasts and find cable or satellite systems a great thief of my time and money. CZcams is just enough for me and there is something for everyone to enjoy as I do.
I agree. I've never subscribed to cable. Presuming you even want or need television entertainment, there are many other options than cable or satellite.
I agree. 5 years ago I had my cable turned off and just a few weeks ago I gave my TV to Goodwill because it had become an ugly decoration in my living room.
Nobody does a better job of hysteria or drunkenness than this guy! Seen him many times in so many things. The African American actor, too, always delivers a good performance, love his voice! (Roy Glenn)
I love at 15:18, the actor playing the father, knees the boy in the head, while picking him up, from beneath that fallen log, and the boy is a good actor, didn't even open his eyes. At 16:43, while running out of the mineshaft, the guy helping the father, nearly slips for the 2nd time. At 14:31, was the first time he nearly slipped, as he was running in with the 2nd guy. I like noting this stuff, cause these were the days the actors kept on acting, without all the 'takes'. These poor actors REALLY worked for their pay. At 19:00, the doctor 9william Schallert) is the one who played the father on the Patty Duke show, & the Black actor, who nearly slipped (twice), also played Sidney Poitier's father in "Guess Who's coming to Dinner" (Roy Glenn). Finally, the mother, played by Julie Adams, is the one who came out in "Creature from the Black Lagoon" from 1954. Sorry, but I love old B & W movies & old actors.
When the young actor is repeatedly asked by the rescuers if he's all right, he's likely thinking:"Aside from being kneed in the side of my head by my dad..." LOL.
+Tricia Lawson i noticed the knee to the head, too. that kid was a pro. and i'm a credit hound as well. the lead actor, charles aidman, did some great TZs as well as other OSBs.
Everytime I see this episode and I see this man running and screaming I know exactly WHY he is doing so. The full realization and total contradiction of all logic and common sense is assailing his brain as his mind tries to tie together pieces that just DONT GO TOGETHER. Every direction his mind takes him leads to a wall of impossibility. And all he can do is scream because his mind cannot process what he has experienced!
Charles Herbert was a good little actor. I have seen him numerous times, but he was my favorite playing "Buck Zorba" (his teenaged sister's name was "Medea"!!!) in 'Thirteen Ghosts' (1960). Martin Milner was cast against type as a baddie, and he and Herbert had some good scenes together, esp. the one concerning the money by the staircase. Thank you so much for uploading these episodes. We are appreciative viewers.

I thought I recognized the lady. Julie Adams was so young. Strange things are known to happen under an emergency. This was one of them, and you can think it any way you want. It is what it is, when it is in need of understanding. I enjoyed this episode. Thank you for sharing.
I have watched this series and thoroughly enjoyed it. Some younger people won't watch an old film if it's in black and white, no matter how good it is supposed to be. I once recommended "It's a wonderful life" to a friend, who was keen to watch it until I told her it's in black and white, unless you get the false colour version. I think she missed out on a great film. Another great film I saw is "Between two worlds", starring John Garfield. It's about a group of people who find themselves on a cruise ship with no memory of how they got there. Although it is fiction, it does have the feel of "One step beyond".
This is real phenomenon, after my mom passed, she called my cousin from my phone, my cousin came over and asked me if I called her and I told her I don’t even have her phone number. She showed me her phone and it was my number but with no typical date time stamp!! I took a picture of it and laminated it and hung it in my room. Definitely she sent us a message from beyond death.
Good program. Julie Adams does lapse once in a while to her native Arkansian, as in a slightly twangy "mahn" for "mine," a Southern Belle still - not totally Hollywoodized! There are countless examples of dead people helping the living in a crisis, and this was one of them. Thanks for sharing.
YEAH......It is true.......Black/GREAT man to the rescue........I love to think that, no matter the race, we would help and care for each other.........:)

Absolutely agree. As sympathetic as they make the husband, any reflection on reality tells you that the wisest thing for that woman and her and her child's safety is to flee him. Right, parents should always allow their children to play in abandoned mines! What nitwits! I love how the wife/ ghost rides in the car and opens doors!
Mr. Newland said it. Paranormal research has come a long way since then. Your spirit never dies even though your body does. She came back to save her son.
Wooooow what smart PARENTS 1st the MOTHER takes her SON to PLAY in a DANGEROUS abandoned MINE 2nd his FATHER then knees him in the face when he is SUPPOSE to be SAVING his life then..... 3rd His FATHER runs out and LEAVES his SON with STRANGERS in the VERY SAME DANGEROUS ABANDONED MINE that HIS MOTHER ALREADY almost killed him in. VERDICT: Child Social Services would have had a field day with these two 😂😂😂😂
The African American gent, Roy Glenn, who comes to the aid of the trapped people..would go on in a few years, when his son (played by Sidney Poitier) 'comes to dinner'..he gives his Dad (Glenn) what for. And Sidney has that wonderful speech...

Somehow I remember the words with a musical background, slow but very powerful. And I don't think the sentence it is in the Ecclesiastes, which I know well. Regards
William Schallert was all over TV over 5 decades. he didn't die that many years ago.... The 1960s were his most prolific era. For all the episodes he did of "The Patty Duke Show," he said he got fan mail for the one episode of Star Trek ("The Trouble with Tribbles") that he guest-starred in! ALSO, a 1960s series.
One day at a time. You never say, "I won't take a drink for the rest of my life.." Whoever wrote this script wasn't a 'friend of Bill W.". It's a good episode, just not quite accurate enough for us Steppers.
That's kind of what makes the ending so tragic. It was obvious he wasn't actually in recovery, just trying to throw some lines out. He never asked how she was, told her what his plan for staying sober was, and at one point claimed they "both" needed to remember so it didn't happen again (even though it's always up to the alcoholic to recover, never the partner). He'd have been drunk by the end of the year anyway. I wondered if the writer might have been an alcoholic and this was his same song and dance with his own wife. The wink is pretty accurate. I'm gonna get her back and we'll be back in this same scenario by end of year.

Likewise, they can/could certainly come from beloved family members, relatives, friends, sisters and brothers, mothers and fathers. Baring nobody’s biological bodily beings. Each and everybody’s existing Ethnicity. When persons participate in the plunder and pillage of the planet. Purposely playing prejudicial party politics, these people become problems, producing psychological + physiological pollution poisons. Therefore they are all being positively purified and purged. Postponing procreation and population of progeny. Depopulation Divinely Decreed, directly due to: Overpopulation of obscene - objectionable offenders!

Well, this is supposedly based on true events, so, presumably, a mom did take a child into a mine shaft. (Our family wouldn't have thought twice about exploring an old mine shaft!---are you kidding? Anything for a bit of adventure! Er, but without high heels, definitely.)
eva magnusson EVA.... this is NOT A STORY MADE UP... it’s A true story..All the ONE STEP BEYONDS ARE AS CLOSE TO THE ACTUAL EVENTS AS POSSIBLE..... THEY ARE ALL TRUE...NO PREMISE NO MADE UP STUFF
All these stories of OSB are based on true stories. They were documented and had witnesses. The Twilight Zone were all fiction.
The father was the physicist in that episode of the twilight zone where the little girl gets lost in the other dimension. Also looks like a grown up beaver cleaver
Right, parents should always allow their children to play in abandoned mines! What nitwits! I love how the wife/ ghost rides in the car and opens doors!
Mr. Newland said it. Paranormal research has come a long way since then. Your spirit never dies even though your body does. She came back to save her son.
Ahhh, the days of decency, of morals. All the way to today......decay and obscene display. Sad indeed.
I think I've now seen every episode of the original OSB. I watched one episode of the later version, and the quality was not as good.
Wooooow what smart PARENTS
1st the MOTHER takes her SON to PLAY in a DANGEROUS abandoned MINE
2nd his FATHER then knees him in the face when he is SUPPOSE to be SAVING his life then.....
That Roy Glenn guy, isn't he the same one who played Willie in "A Raisin In The Sun"?
sad story.
why did she crawl back in the mine and burying herself in after running to get help?
That Doctor was very afraid of something & put a lot of effort into convincing himself of his own cozy preconceptions. Silly man.
If there was a big red button that when pressed ended the universe with a six-foot neon sign over it that said "DO NOT PRESS: UNIVERSE WILL END", some prat would press it just to see what happens.
Adam Welton wtf is a prat ? Speak English
If anybody knows the alleged incident this is based on, please let us know. I couldn't find any basis for it.
"Death is stronger than Life
"But Love is stronger than Death
And I don't remember where I read it but maybe is true! Regards
Somehow I remember the words with a musical background, slow but very powerful. And I don't think the sentence it is in the Ecclesiastes, which I know well. Regards
The Dad from "The Patty Duke Show".
I agree with you Cynthia,I know that as a fact.
Old mines is not the place for sight seeing.
Wtf??? What insanity is to go exploring old collapsey mine shaft??!!
That man’s SHRIEKING was starting to piss me off 😡
What decent people back then black and white .
Nelson Vargas, it's a television show.
You just don't try to explain these things to others. They just don't get it.
a 40 o malt liquor & a bucket o KFC, might dew ...🐒🍺🐔kek🐸😂
Liken' One Step Beyond better'n the Twilight Zone ❣️
