I tried disposable menstrual disks once and it was such a mess, I was always leaking and it was uncomfortable. I thought I’d never be able to try a cup and it would be way worse. But I have the Always menstrual cup and it’s AMAZING. If you think your body can’t handle a cup because you’ve had a bad experience with disks, just try it out!
what the hell I was told about this female genitalia by a friend, but I thought it was bs I’m actually so confused rn. What is the purpose of it? Is it just for the blood dripping?
I have a question, like since it’s holds like a cup , if you do flips and you are in the upside down position does that mean the fluids from the cup falls out
It sits supported by the walls and the only way it would become dislodged is if u push like u we’re pooping. Mine pretty much always stays in place and when I use the bathroom I make sure it’s in place and just push it up to make sure. Once u get the hang of it, it’s very easy and the best part is u don’t feel it and can leave it in for up to 12 hours.
Right... I have cup and it kinda moves around it always get puswd deeper inside me so I don't see how 1. I can put the disc in place 2. Get it out 3. Get it to not move around
I didn't know the uterus kinda sticks out into the vagina like that. I mean, I felt it before, I thought it was something wrong. Dang, why do so many things misrepresent how it actually looks?
If you find a drawn diagram online, you will see that the actual part that sticks out into the vagina is the cervix. I presume they just made the uterus and cervix the same object in this, for practical purposes.
@@moonclawdragon4276 But it's the cervix that is at the internal path into the vagina, the uterus itself does not lapse into the vagina. The uterus and cervix are 2 different parts of the anatomy. The only time the uterus lapses into the vagina is when a female has developed a prolapsed uterus (which can be caused by the pelvic muscles being extremely over-stretched during childbirth) and requires surgery to fix.
I use a reuasble silicone disc..not a cup...the disc sits in my cervix area. Behind the public bone so I don't feel it inside. It eases cramps and I only have to change it 2x a day. I am a heavy bleeder with a loooong cycle 10 fats each month. The disc has changed my life drastically
Truthfully, I'm sitting here waiting for two discs to arrive, and I'm *_terrified!!_* 😩 I've tried the cup twice... The first time, I almost passed out trying to get it out! I got scared right back into wearing pads. A year later, I got brave (or stupid) and tried again, and actually passed out and hit my head on my tub! Yeah, no cups for me. If the disc will be less stressful, less painful, etc. I'm willing to try it... But I'm afraid of going anywhere *_near_* my cervix. I'm afraid bumping it with the disc will make me pass out. I'm not sure if that was the case with the cup, or if it was the suction my body didn't like. I'm scared y'all...
The disc can’t get stuck at all! Your cervix is like a cul de sac so nothing can get stuck. The feeling that it’s not there is how you’re supposed to feel! And even if it was hard to remove that’s probably because you have a high cervix and worst case you’d just go to your GYNO and she’d take it out for you!❤
Here’s my story for anyone interested. I’m 16 and I have a very low cervix. I’ve tried 2 cups, the saalt small (soft) first which I could never get to open and get in fully without pain so I got a smaller cup, the all matters mini. At first it was pretty good although I was very aware/could feel it, but I really wanted it to work so I kept trying for about 5 months and this month I decided I was done with it because of how much pain, I think the pain was from the cup pressing up against my cervix but I don’t know how to fix it because the cups had no where else to go because of my low cervix. I’m thinking about trying a disc but what do y’all think? Any advice?
I tried the disc when I had stage 3-4 prolapse at 15. my cervix was mostly outside my body, and it was the only thing I could get to work with my condition. it might work for someone with a low cervix as well! after surgery to fix my uterus, I can no longer use it, ironically. but that's cause I can feel everything down there now. It's definitely worth a shot and if you don't want to buy the reusable, you can try with the disposable ones to start just to see if you like it. I don't know which is cheaper though.
I am a young girl who will mist likely get her first period soon and my 50 yo mom has no idea what a menstrual cup is. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO LEARN THIS STUFF!!!
Internet is a pretty good place for that lol my mom just gave me a pack of pads and showed how to use those. Had to figure out tampons and eventually the cup by myself. After your period starts its important to just learn how heavy your flow is and what would make you comfortable. Obviously pads and tampons are a good and accessible start. I recommend period panties since they're reusable and don't feel like you have a diaper on all day lol. And of course a cup or a disk are a bit harder to learn, but really reliable and better for the inviorment and your wallet!
I learned it all on my own using internet sources aimed at girls between 10-14. Be careful to only use sources aimed at your age group! My mom only taught me to use a pad and nothing further. She probably doesn't know what a cup is either. I think it's not that unusual for moms to not teach you more than the basics.

Try different folds to insert the cup. Vaginas aren't some endless voids, the cup won't be lost up there. But remember to break the suction (by pinching the cup) before pulling it out, otherwise it will hurt.
Taking the cup to the next level, append a short drain pipe at its bottom, which, after connected to a syringe, drains the blood neatly without reaching into the woman’s inside. ?
I don't think it matter if it spills inside. The blood would have had to flow out from inside there anyways so it's not like it'd be harmful for you. I'm guessing it'd be like spilling a cup inside, when that happens to me the blood comes out pretty quickly and if you do it over the toilet or in the shower there's no real mess made.
I have used one. You just fold it and slip it in. I have a super sensitive cervix and couldn't feel it. It's not like an IUD(which works by thickening the mucus membrane) it's more like the oral pill in that it hormonally mimics pregnancy to prevent ovulation altogether. It really just sits in there. Supposedly there's a possibility that it can fall out but I never experienced that and I work in manual labor.
