  • Kobe Bryant was recently interviewed with a handful of other players and said that LeBron James has 'got to figure out way to win' championships. In his discussion with Cris Carter and Jenna Wolfe, Nick Wright illustrates why this was such an ill-advised remark, identifying a plethora of situations supported by verified stats where the Black Mamba failed to win in the post-season.

      What Kobe is telling Lebron is that you have nothing left to prove to the NBA, the only way that you will solidify your place in NBA history is to get as close to 6 NBA Championships as possible. If you want to get more rings then you will have to do what you have to do for you. It is time for Lebron to be selfish and be a one man wrecking crew, Lebron has the chance to be the greatest ever in the history of mankind to be the BEST there is, was, and ever will be

      The Lakers traded Caron Butler for Kwame Brown, and Lamar Odom was a very inconsistent #2 player and scorer. Kobe felt like the Lakers were content with him scoring a bunch of points, while the team barely made the playoffs in a tough Western Conference. Nobody could ever question Kobe's toughness, dedication, intensity towards winning.

      Matches Malone yes they can... He literally drove Shaq out of town wen they could have won at least 2 or 3more championships together... Then he signed a huge contract wen he was out of his prime wen the lakers could have used some of that money to sign better free agents... Even in the series wen they were up 3 1 against the the suns, in game 7 Kobe literally stop shooting the ball in the second half to try and prove a point... Kobe has definitely showed some selfish ways in his career... Stop it with this false narrative.... He was only ok with winning when it was viewed as him being the reason his team won

      @tyrellmiles1467 Před 4 lety +6

      He did, but the thing with Kobe was that he was one of those dudes where when it was just him, he put up great numbers and was great individually. However, when you give Kobe an all star big man and a top notch supporting cast of role players and coaching, now he'll get you to the Finals and get you a title. With a guy like LeBron, he's good enough by himself as the lone all star for a team to at least by one of the top 4 seeds and a borderline title contender. But when you give him that second star and a top notch supporting cast, it's virtually a lock for whichever team he's on that they'll be in the Finals at least. Jordan was like that to an extent as well. He was good enough to get the bulls to the playoffs, but then Phil came along as his coach and Pippen blossomed into an all star as well as having that strong supporting cast and being able to get the most out of them

Shaq average 33-15-3 so take that. Shaq faced bums in the 2001 finals.
    Hold up Kobe won without a “big man”! Lbj never won without Super stars! Are they dumb or what? Wade, Bosh, Ray Allen, Klove, Kyrie ? Are you freaking kidding me? Tiny Island You're missing my point. His stats are remarkable, but think about how much more effective Lebron would be if he played more off the ball, which he has indicated he wants to do? Imagine him playing more in the post with a Magic type point. His assists would go down, but he would win more.
      Nick Wright throws those stats up there and says, "See. Lebron was better than Kobe. Look at the stats." But just because you can do more doesn't mean it's best for the team. Lebron needs to play alongside players who have specific roles. Turning everyone into a spot up shooter, while he controls the ball is not helping him win.

But there were many times the Kobe didn't have near the team as Lebron has. Lebron for sure has and will have better stats. But the "killer instinct" and HEART of Lebron isn't NEAR what Kobe had. Which is why Kobe SHOULD get compared to Jordan just as much if not more than Lebron. Kobe still went to 7 NBA Finals. People for whatever reason keep saying 5 is better than 3 while forgetting that while Kobe went to 2 LESS Finals, he still WON 2 MORE than Lebron.

    Nick you keep lining up LBJ stats next to other all time greats while forgetting that everyone besides you and Shay notices that he doesn't play much defense anymore. Kobe's stat line doesn't look as amazing because he was spending half his energy earning his reputation as an assassin on defense, hence the 9 times his name is found next to NBA All Defensive 1st Teams. Wake up dood, defense wins championships, thats why he has more than LBJ. Using the same logic you use to show LBJ is better than Kobe with those stats, you could line up Russ's statline from last season compared to any season LBJ produced but then we'd be listening to you change the subject back to championships.

      LeBron needed Wade, Bosh, Kyrie, Love, and now AD with a host of veteran (and young) talent to win. LeBron also has had the easiest path to the finals for 7 of the last 10 years. This year he was rejuvenated because we added AD and other role players.

He was the best player in the league for a period near 10 years, he won 5 titles (probably the most a player has won since he was drafted), scoring champ. All around player like Michael Jordan, good offensive and defensive basketball player, the total package...now people are wrong when they think that "be the next Michael Jordan" means that he must be better than Michael Jordan. That doesn't mean that. That means that he is going to carry the Torch as being the best player in the league and probably be a lot like Michael Jordan in his game, and Kobe, accomplished both things...
