I never understood why G4 was even "coming back". Even when it was still on the air, it only had like 3 original shows of its own. With internet content skyrocketing in the '10s, there was literally no market for G4 programming anymore.
1) Olivia Munns career had plummeted
2) She was dating Comcast Execs kid.
3) Comcast wanted to have the espn of esports
Even if they could keep up with online content creators quality, people would probably still prefer to watch their favorite CZcamsrs anyway

G4TV was TechTV, which HAD great content. once it became G4TV, it was "Spike TV for nerds" and died to me.
There are many reasons. They want more money; they want to indoctrinate us; they want to be sports commentators but for games; they want to be backed by the government; and they want to set the rules on game commentating so nobody steps out of the line.
When we were younger, my wife and I used to watch G4TV all the time.
Sad how they destroyed themselves.

Yup, I used to love Xplay's skits like (Splinter Cell Co-Op Theater) with Special Agent Bob and Secret Agent Steve, Roger the Stan Lee impersonator, and even the time they did an entire episode at the Star Wars convention where Ratty was Yoda 😂
Cheat used to be awesome and even useful in the era where cheat codes were common
and they were the first to show the original Ninja Warrior competition from Japan....I couldn't understand anything as it was in Japanese 😅 but it was still fun to watch

That was when it was TechTV. When they switched to just G4, it turned into the cable version of the Mt. Dew and Doritos channel.
Extended Play used to do in depth reviews, studio tours and show early access videos. When they switched to X-Play, you got one or two quick (usually incorrect) reviews, then 15 minutes of the most embarrassingly cringe skits ever made.
Gaming and tech yea i remember.
All these companies and shows that hate their customers and audience has certainly been a wild, hilarious ride.

These kinds of people are so disconnected from reality that they think losing their job is a no big deal and just a part of a story.
I'd been interested in "the comeback" of G4 for about twenty minutes after hearing about it, because nostalgia. Then on minute 21, I heard the Frosk-rant, laughed and tuned out, leaving it behind in memories now stained with the image of Sessler's scowling, aged face and Frosk's (who I'd never heard of before that minute) shrill screech of a voice. Great video.
When G4TV died the first time, it was sad but people moved on to better media.
When G4TV came back and died a second time, no one cared and forgot it even happened.

The most amazing thing about G4's fall from grace is this video I'm watching while Gundam makes an "I told you so" video about how he predicted on stream that DSP would shut down his own documentary despite how beneficial it would have been for his channel.
I used to genuinely look forward to X-play back in the day and Morgan and Adam. That thing wearing G4 as a skin-suit was actually a huge disappointment for me and seeing Adam spiral was worse for me than Frosk tbh.
Seriously is there a disease that's making formally decent people go insane and hateful to anyone with different political opinions then themselves? Even back when I was young when everyone complained about president Bush Jr. It was never this bad. Now it's like you're on the FBI watchlist if you buy a Bible.

The most impressive aspect about the entire G4TV trilogy is that in the time from Frosk's rant about sexism in gaming to now, I've moved to a new state, got a new job, and visited Puerto Rico for the first time.
It's a true testament to using your time effectively. You can either blow money going to California and ruining G4 with woke BS, or you can move on with your life and laugh as the circus freak bus passes you while on fire.
'I can be a bigot and hate on you, but keep your mouth shut about your own bigotry'- I love hypocrites, they put perspective on just how much better I am than they are.

G4TV/TechTV taught me so many things when I was younger and opened my eyes to stuff I’ve never seen before, alas. It was doomed the moment CZcams and Twitch gained prominence. What came back recently wasn’t that, it was a masquerading thing, that didn’t even capture a shred of the old days, and didn’t deserve the branding.
Still sucks they didn’t have a vault with all their old shows up for viewing, watching VHS and DVR rips can get dicey after a while.

I used to like Sessler before the veil was lifted on the angry little man. There was another channel he was in called Rev3 Games that was fairly decent at the time. Again, the dude showed the world he’s nuts.

G4TV will continue to fade into obscurity. They made terrible decisions and continued to double down on how they handled their business. Frosk was just one of many reasons to not support them.

I used to have such fond memories of (mostly techtv) g4tv, and I spent years scouring the internet for old vhs recordings of old g4 and techtv episodes. My collection of thousands of hours of g4/techtv used to be one of my most prized collections, but after the debacle of the relaunch it soured me on the project. A few weeks ago I needed to free up space on my NAS and I just deleted the entire collection. I didn't think twice about it and I don't feel remorseful over the loss. Congratulations to everyone involved, you made me hate something that I used to love. I'm sure that was your intention from the start.
