I used to keep up and watch these insanely toxic streamers back when all this was happening(ip2, etc). If it makes you feel any better, there were tons of pics on IP2 of johnny sulking at a bar/restaurant, off stream, looking depressed at fuck. People were trolling him/giving him shit for causing chaos and then not wanting to stream it, and of course local Japanese were more than happy to take pics of him sulking(nearly crying) and post them online for everyone to see lol.

I am an US born African American female who loves anime and respects the Japanese culture. I'm sorry to everyone in Japan who had to deal with this fool and his antics. Most Japanese already didn't like foreigners due to them not understanding their culture, now this fool and his buddies come along and make it worst. And since some people in Japan are pretty stuck in their ways, it will be nearly impossible to undo the damage his guy as caused and have Japanese see foreigners, dark skin, and CZcamsrs in a different light.

People have tried to tell him and argue with him forever, and every single time, he didn't learn a single lesson. There comes a time for every case where talking and conversation are of no more value, as they clearly achieve nothing. In this case, critical mass was reached and people were fed up, rightfully so. There are very rare cases where I entirely approve of it, this is one of those cases. But it could just as easily be used to silence uncomfortable political positions and force people to adhere to the status quo (i.e. public beatings of anyone who disagrees with gender ideology dogma or what have you). So, vigilante justice for saying the wrong thing - no. Vigilante justice toward someone just being a terrible person but staying just within the bounds of what the law allows you to do without real repercussions - absolutely yes.
Sometimes, I wish that we could go back to our great-grandparents generation. They were much more open to throwing fists, but only when absolutely necessary.
Of course, I admit that I might be romanticizing that era a bit.
