You can have theoretically more wheels on locomotive from what i seen. Say you have 3 boogeys under the locomotive, 2 are are glued to it, 3rd one is not and is in fact considered separate cart inside the locomotive

Not anymore as of adding the trains you click one place and click another place it flies every block in the area
@@BobbyTheBold_ yeah but its permanent so anything in that area will always be glued even if you destroy the block and replace it
Shalz, if you want to make it 3 bogeys on a single place, then if you place different block on the sticky side of the bogeys on the side and glue the outer parts on the middle part.
I had to read this 4 times, it makes sense but is hella confusing at first.

What if you were to build some Liberty Ships in both Standard/Cargo and Tanker Configurations with Create. Imagine this Scenario....
You've got a Distant Village in need of Resources to survive! The Pillagers have Looted them of their Crops and Animals and are running Dangerously Low of their Food. The Smithing Guild was even Drained of it's Lava Stores as the used the Lava to Heat their Blast Furnaces and Normal Furnaces for Smelting Materials. A Convoy of 6 Standard/Cargo and 4 Tanker Configuration Liberty Ships is Organized to Ferry Supplies over while Another 2 Victory Ships are Called in to transport Troops and Material for the Defence of the Village of Mooscow. You will personally see this convoy to its Destination of the Moourmansk Port Facilities where they will be Loaded onto a Train and Rushed to the Beleaguered Village of Mooscow. Each Convoy ship and the Train will have a Villager as the Conductor and the Convoy Ships are to be no more than 15 Chunks apart in a Somewhat Stagered Formation. You'll have the SS Jeremiah O'Brien as the Basis for the Liberty Ships and the SS Red Oak Victory for the Victory Ships. All Convoy Ships will have Red Terracotta and Red Nether Bricks for the Draft (Part of the Ship under the Water, also spelled as Draught), the latter for shaping the Bottom of the Hull or Keel, and a Mix of Dark or Light Gray Concrete or Terracotta with some Cobblestone will be thrown in for the Shaping and Blue Concrete or Terracotta with some Warped Wood for shaping as the Camouflage pattern. You'll have what the U.S. Navy Refered to as "Standard Measure 21" and "Standard Measure 22" to work with when Building and "Painting" the Convoy Ships.
Below are the Specifications for the Liberty Ships and the Victory Ships with Notes on how to tell the Difference between the Various Configurations of the Liberty Ships.

ayoooo i used to do this on the minecart contraptions before the trains were actually a thing in create. It was a 4 car contraption, one with storage, one for living, and one with all the create contraptions.

If you use an boiler you can use the power shaft used to deliver motion(dont know the actual word for it) to rotate the big wheels at the back of the steam loco, just like with an actual steam engine

Heard that a VS Skies mod came out to tweak Contraptions to allow people to use stuff on one, alongside more dynamic derailing trains.
You can connect 2 middle bogeys together, and the rest as carts, by not connecting them to the rest. Place blocks on the sticky sides, and make a frame around them. Then it will act as carts.

Fun fact using the boiler to create steam to pump more water into the boiler is actually used on steam locomotives however it's not specifically just for that it's still used to turn the wheels but the axel, axle however spell it the axel rod has a rod attached to it that is connected to a pump which is meant to put more water into the boiler from the tender as the train is moving so is the axle causing the pump to well start pumping its called an axle pump

Also you can make a platform (Locomotive) and make it have more than 2 Boggies is to have the two regular ones and add X number of boggies connected like Cars to it, Except in sharp turns it will look Good and as it has X numbers of boggies attached and not bamboozling the game

BTW the reason you have the tender is basicly as a resourcecsr usually coupled heavely to the loco with the cab etc , because its usefull and in preatymuch all cases better to have it married to the loco

Make it so you can drive the base through the nether to travel distance and add lava and water collection carriages and one to collect from a farm so then you always have resources
What you might do is add immersive engineering and use the garden cloches to grow food when you're stationary.
