2011: A powerful comeback after leaving the contest on a high note with "Fiumi di parole". I still have "Rio de palabras" (Spanish version) on my playlist to aide me on learning Castilian.
2012: Yes on her styled like an Italian Amy Whinehouse. As per the track, it sounds a lot better in its full Italian version.
2013: Yep. One of the best and classy songs of that year.
2014: Styling could have been better but there are more pluses than minuses on this one for me.
2015: The abridged version didn't give "Grande Amore" that powerful build-up it needed like it was in Sanremo but kudos to Il Volo for really maximizing the song to the fullest, especially with the task of closing the anniversary edition
2016: I really sensed Francesca's nerves during her performance but it was still a pretty cool and quirky performance regardless.
2017: As much as I liked this, "Occidentali's Karma" was a victim of its own hype. ESC Insight summed it very well that it seemed clear that after three-four months of promoting a single song, Francesco was ready to move on and promote the rest of his album that came out around the same time.

This is is very interesting, just to know how foreigners see us in ESC, but first I am very disappointed that some of you really did not like Diodato's song this year....but ok, taste is not arguable whatsoever.
I give you my opinion, as a music addicted and Italian, to all these entries.
2011 Rapahel Gualazzi is a jazz singer and that was absolutely not a typical italian song, but too sophisticated for ESC I was very much surprised he got the 2nd place
2012 Nina Zilli not bad but she shouldn't have done Winehouse's impression, but she was like that long before Winehouse started singing, but references were unavoidable
2013 Marco Mengoni is a hell of an artist far too beyond ESC
    2014 Emma Marrone no comment!!!!!
2015 Il Volo, it's a mistery to me how people can appreciate those second rate opera singers building up songs for old emigrants, unbearable!
2016 Francesca Michielin very weak performance and song
2017 Francesco Gabbani he simply should have won, he had the perfect ESC song without being too stupid, but the cut to make it to 3 minutes just did not help
2018 Fabrizio Moro Ermal Meta another entry that should have been at least in the top 3, the song is so strong and beautiful and the performance was outstanding
2019 Mahmood what can I say, he was fantastic, the very best of this decade, hugely talented and the fact that 'Soldi" is the most clicked ESC song of all times - followed by Gabbani, by the way - just tells us he was the real winner of this year.
I hope nobody feels offended, it was not my intention, only my very personal views. For you all, guys of E.hub I just invite you to watch Diodato's performance in Arena di Verona released 3 days ago for ESC of 'Fai rumore'.

    9) 2014: Sorry guys, just sorry... It was a bump in the road.
    8) 2018: Moving performance but they wrote much more beautiful songs.
    7) 2015: Sorry Eurofans but this style is too old and stereotyped. Amazing performance tho.
    6) 2011: So classic, so jazzy. Good multilanguage mix.
    5) 2013: Love him. Greeat song, very touching. Simplicity sometimes pays back.
    4) 2016: I just freaking love her and this song. Lovely message but awful Eurovision cut.
    3) 2012: The queen. Catchy music, simple lyrics, good multilanguage mix and sensuality.
    2) 2019: It show to Europe that we are not just "cuore" and "amore". Catchy clap clap and deep meaning.
    1) 2017. Perfectly-structured song, catchy music, beautiful lyrics and good staging (the ape is just genius).

2011 - a good jazz song, good performance, but wouldn't listen on my phone.
2012 - good song but her style didn't help.
2013 - Typical melodramatic song. Not my style.
2014 - unpopular opinion, but I love this song! The performance was a bit confusing.
2015 - represents a lot of what is expected of Italy, great vocals, good dose of drama.
2016 - very good music, but should not have inserted the excerpts in English, lost the essence of the song.
2017 - his performance was a little too uncompromising, but the music is amazing.
2018 - In terms of lyrics, it is certainly one of the best songs in the history of Eurovision. Very meaninful.
2019 - a slightly different style, quite refreshing. Only the vocal could have been a little better.

    • @LDTube-pz9fq
      @LDTube-pz9fq Před 4 lety

for the same reason that when we heard some middle-eastern vibe in a Israel or Azerbajan song we say "wow, this great ethnic sound" and but to them is so typical and boring. Italy is too used to opera singers, tenors, Pavarotti, Traviata, Rossini... it's just nothing new to them, expecially, those who have heard enough tenors singing know well that they're not the best out there. But it's like yodelling, would you be able to tell who is the better yodeller, when it sounds all new, different and unique to you as someone not used to it?
