Good review. I just got this mask about 2 weeks ago. This is my first nasal cradle mask. The wind noise is noticeable with the head gear tube coming down near your ear. However its a great side sleeper mask which is why I got it.

I just started using the N30i mask last week and I LOVE it. I wasn’t able to use the Pillow mask and the N30i is much more comfortable as I am a side sleeper.

After using the N30i mask for nearly three years, I was happy and I was getting good therapy while able to manage leaks. Then ResMed changed the cushion to a squishy thing with a removable sound-muffler that holds foul odors after only 12-14 nights of use, thus requiring extra effort to clean.
After 13 months of trying to keep this new N30i cushion from leaking like crazy, I gave up and went to another brand of mask. The change in the N30i nasal cushion was definitely not an improvement for me --- it made the N30i unusable for me. I am now able to again benefit from CPAP therapy as I have a mask that doesn't leak at over 30 L/min no matter what I do.
The N30i was a great nasal mask, but in my case, the 'improvement' in the cushion made it unusable. I'm a side sleeper who started CPAP therapy in 2013, and monitors my therapy using ResScan software.

I don’t think the thing on the front of the cradle is a diffuser. There are holes on the top of the plastic elbow where the hose attaches to the mask to diffuse your exhale. If you take the elbow out and put you hand over the hole of the mask and try to exhale no air will come out the “diffuser”. If you inhale with your hand over the hole air will come in. It’s a one way check valve to let air into the cradle in case the air flow from the machine stops. I was concerned that my exhale exiting from the top of the mask would recirculate CO2 so I slept with a fingertip oximeter. My oxygen saturation was 97 during the day and 96 when I slept so it doesn’t seem to be anything to worry about

Thank you very much for clearing up the covered perforations on the nasal cradle. I was so scared because on the old mask air came out of the front and the top elbow. This mask only allows air out at top elbow - correct?

    • @thecpapstore
      @thecpapstore  Před 6 dny

It comes out both the top elbow and the front. But this mask has a very good diffuser in the front, so you do not feel any exhale wind at all.

Had one of them tubes that go around the head and did not like it..... sounded like I was sitting in the very last seat on a 727 listening to the air rush by my head all night. I don't see the need nor the reason for the air to go clear around the head in the first place, especially when I like to listen to the radio or soft music.

I think you incorrectly called this a "pillow" mask. Resmed calls this a nasal cradle mask, thus the N in N30i. It's an alternative to the traditional nasal masks that cover the whole nose. Their P30i is the pillow mask (named so for obvious reasons).

    • @thecpapstore

Hi there! Thanks for your comment! I noticed the mistake in our description. Just changed it, thanks! If you are referring to 6:00 then I can explain. Some machines only have settings for "full face" and "nasal" or "full face" and "pillow", and therefore if you do not have a machine that has a "nasal cradle" setting, you should select "pillow" instead of "nasal" as the air pressure and flow will behave more closely to it. That being said, always talk to your sleep therapist since that is not always the case. Thanks!

Do NOT use this if you have blepharoplasty; forehead reduction for glaucoma.
It is extremely painful while wearing as it pulls against the nerves.
Also, make sure you are fitted by a ‘reputable’ respiratory therapist.
As stated by the company: there is a 90 day warranty 😳
However, this has to be returned by the medical supply warehouse.
    FAT CHANCE!
An ignorant receptionist had the unmitigated gall to ask if you have removed it from the packaging?!
    WHAT?!
    SERIOUSLY 😳
There she is working in a medical supply warehouse unmasked.
All she needed to do was wear a mask 😷 and glove up.
Place in a ziplock baggy then return just as the warranty states.
My insurance paid for the N30 nearly $150.
Because I used the N30 and went back to the over forehead air fed.
It actually pulled my hair out, returned to the nerve pain.
When I went back to exchange for my warranty expressed guarantee.
I was made to pay out of pocket $100 for their incompetency.
The N30 supply hose to pillow fitted mask, BROKE after 2 days.
Why is it so difficult to make a connection port like the M38, which is advantageous.
Yet leaves you without a red pig 🐽 snout ring.
I wish by continuing watching your video.
I am able to find a mask which looks as if it will fit.
Thank you so much 😊 for your time.

In my opinion the N31i is a piece of garbage. The air passages collapse when you lay onto your side. Do this very simple test. Turn on the unit with the mask in your hand , now squeeze one side of the air tube and notice how dramatically the air flow changes. I am throw mine in the garbage. Do not buy any collapsable head gear with the hose attachment on the top of your head, my opinion. Res med should be ashamed to sell this junk.

I have been using for over 10 years and tried every mask out there... For me the N30I Is the best mask yet... the nose cradle fits more around the nose and way less leaks... as for the collapsing... To me it was designed for side sleepers.. so if collapsed on one side do to sleeping on side... the air is redirected to the other side... and the same amount of air is distributed... I am extremely happy with this mask...

@@joanroberson271 I have been using the N30i nasal cushion for years without problems and great sleep. Resmed changed the design of the N30i to all silicone nasal cushion. The original version had a hard plastic cradle with silicone combo. I prefer the original version because I didn't have leaks. I don't like the new version because of major leaks and now I have very dry eyes because the nasal cushion leaks and blows on my face all night lone. The newer version sucks.....very disappointed with the change.
