      just lower the humidity level to like a 1 or 2 and keep your temp at wherever you feel need it to be.

    I use a air sense 11. I get along with it and like it. It’s not a very well designed machine. The hose port is at the back of the machine. My hose would tangle and fall to the floor pulling on the mask causing a leak. Turn the machine around with hose port facing the bed. This also puts the water chamber to the front. It puts your touch screen to the rear. No more tangled hose. Seems like they were more concerned about a touch screen than sleep ability

      I have an airsense 10. What I have always done for ANY machine (this is only my third one in about 13 years) is to use velcro zip ties and hose management clips to secure the hose to the bed with a bit of slack between the machine and the secured point on my bed so that as I roll from left to right, I'm not going to pull on the machine and will instead pull on the secured point on the bed. As for my mask end, I have yet more velcro zip ties (I also have a fleece tube cover) on my hose setup with a pacifier "leash" so that there's no tension put on my mask that is on me.

      I bought a $4 3M hook to put behind my bed to hold the hose up. It no longer gets in my way at night. Maybe try that?

    I've only been using my cpap resmed 10 for 2 days. Last night I when I went bed the happy was by the mask seal but I woke up at 6 to use the bathroom and went to put the mask back on and the mask seal was sad. I do feel the air in my nose. So how do I fix it to be happy. It's on as tight as it can be. What am I foing wrong. I also did the mask seal test and it says it's good.

    If I am at AHI less than 1 95% of the time. Am I good now and don't need the cpap machine anymore?

    • @thecpapstore
      @thecpapstore  Před rokem +5

      This will depend on why you started CPAP in the first place, and so you must consult your sleep therapist or doctor. Generally, though if you are no longer having apneas, you can lower the pressure gradually and eventually stop using CPAP all together. However, having a low AHI may also just mean that CPAP therapy is working well, and without it you would have apneas again. This is a case by case basis though, so seeking proper medical advice is required.

    If you have a good AHI, does that mean you are having oxygen delivered to your body compared to if you have really bad apnea?

    • @thecpapstore
      @thecpapstore  Před rokem +3

      AHI is the number of apneas or hypopneas (times when you stop breathing) you have within a 1 hour time frame. So a good AHI (eg. 3), means that within 1 hour you only experienced 3 apneas. AHI does not take into account the quantity of oxygen delivered.

    Is that how you change the Air pressure on Airsense 10? Pressing both buttons? Mine was locked by provider and pressure is too high. No time get new prescription from Dr

  • @chrisbrady8186

    What's going to happen when the doctor finds out you lowered his prescribed pressure? He got the pressure from what you showed you needed during the sleep study. Sounds like the old "I don't like the taste of it, so I'm not taking my medicine." My pressure is at 23, very high.

    My AHI is lower than 5 with CPAP but still very sleepy. Why so

    • @lesliehyde
      @lesliehyde Před rokem +2

      Could be a number of things. Meds that suppress your communication between your brain and diaphragm, the number of AHIs might be low but the amount of time between stopping breathing and starting again might be too long (this was the reason I was diagnosed with sleep apnea, specifically central sleep apnea secondary to dysautonomia) for your brain to compensate for, or you might just need a bit more sleep. Of course, there could be reasons from an endocrine standpoint for your sleepiness such as blood sugar levels being out of wack, issues somewhere along the HPA (hypothalamus, pituitary and adrenal glands) axis, issues with your thyroid levels. However, there is also the aspect of your circadian rhythm aka sleep wake cycles (think average person is on a 24 hour circadian rhythm but you might be running on a 20 hour circadian rhythm meaning that you need to get to sleep earlier and earlier each day and wake earlier and earlier because while a day has 24hrs, your body or rather brain, is running on a 20 hour clock for its full day).
      Of course, these are all things that you have to investigate with your medical providers and not be seeking answers for it on social media...... best of luck.

    When you do the mask leak test, what pressure does the airsense 11 use for the test?

    • @thecpapstore
      @thecpapstore  Před rokem +2

      If you are using the CPAP function, then it will go up to the set pressure. Eg. If you set your pressure to 12, it will test at 12. If you are using it for APAP it will test in the high mid-range of what you set. If you set between 4-15, it will test around a level 10.
