The Contour CPAP pillow is highly beneficial for individuals undergoing CPAP therapy for sleep apnea due to its ergonomic design tailored specifically for CPAP users. This CPAP Mask review goes over the Fisher and Paykel Solo and the ResMed P10. Where I do think the Solo has a better headgear, I don't think it is the better mask necessarily. The headgear is perfect for those who want an easy mask to put on. It locks in place like a seatbelt and holds its position very well. On the other hand, the lightweight P10 uses an elastic headgear. This can move and st...

How Loud is a CPAP Machine?

CPAP machines are generally designed to be as quiet as possible, with most modern models producing sound levels between 25 to 30 decibels (dB). To give you a better idea of how quiet that is: 30 dB is about the same noise level as a whisper or a quiet rural area. 25 dB is slightly quieter than 30 dB, roughly equivalent to the sound of rustling leaves. First of all I used Dreamware Nasal pillow masks but found they were irritating my nostrils. I then bought an F40 which was fabulous but I was worried about the magnets with my defibrillator and I found out about the F30i non magnetic mask . I am a side sleeper and read myself to sleep wearing glasses so this mask has been ideal for me . I now have two of them for use when one is being cleaned This mask coupled with a Resmed Air Sense 11 Autoset are as good as it gets for me .

    From US, I’ve been using the F40 since April. I love it, especially how quiet it is. I’m at a 15 top end pressure and have no leakage, it does bubble up at the high pressure. Before the F40 I had a Resmed F30i. I prefer the top swivel on the F30i but not enough to go back to it.

      Hi there, you can just use a small jacket/hat hook such as this. www.homedepot.ca/product/nystrom--2-pack-1-13-16-inch-46-mm-utility-metal-single-hook-black-finish/1001063806 And then use coil hair ties from a dollar store, to keep the tube in place. www.amazon.ca/Kitsch-Piece-Hair-Coil-Black/dp/B07BYWSV7L/ref=asc_df_B07BYWSV7L/?tag=googleshopc0c-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=706725225060&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4688947905556942041&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9001553&hvtargid=pla-607574031292&mcid=79b68faecdb63219967ea6d9c88089cd&gad_source=1&th=1 It looks a lot cleaner than a CPAP tube hook. I think resmed has changed the diffuser design on the p10. Clogs more easily making it harder to exhale. Have used this mask for years at high pressure of 17 to 18cm H2O with no issue, cleaning weekly. Its become unusable and have tried 2 separate replacements of the p10. Am hoping switching to the new FP mask will solve this.

    I posted a question on your blog. What if a person needs oxygen therapy along with their CPAP. I've backpacked and camped all my adult life, bought an AirMini, but now oxygen seems to be a huge barrier. Any thought?

    • @thecpapstore
      @thecpapstore Před 2 dny

      Hi there, you will need to get an AirMini Adapter. These are about $20 from amazon, by brands such as Snugell. From here you can attach any tube you like with oxygen connection. If you can't find that, you can also get a CPAP Oxygen Enrichment Adapter and use a standard tube. This will rule out the HumidX system. However, you can use a 3rd party HME. Hope this helps give you some ideas.

    Thank you for this video. I am new to CPAP and I’m getting ready to try a hybrid full face F40 because the pillows were comfortable but not working for me because of air leaks, and side sleeping. My biggest challenge, though, is incredibly dry throat. Adjusted humidity still no luck so I’m now going to try the hybrid full face thinking that maybe dry throat is due to mouth breathing. Ugh! what a process!

    Why do I feel myself taking a breath on the F30i and have to concentrate more on my breathing and when I put on the airfit F20 I don’t notice my breathing at all. Are the resmed series 11 settings the exact same for the airfit F20 and F 30i full face masks? It’s kind of weird because the F3I is super comfortable, but I don’t like the fact that I can feel myself breathing or I have to concentrate on breathing. Very helpful review! Thank you. I moto camp. Can recharge battery on each days ride. Have the Medi 24, but what pisses me off with that unit is you can only charge by the Airsense 10 (or whatever unit you have) DC or AC cables. Why don't they allow USB C to charge? Pass through is not an item when camping off grid. I am only interested in units that are portable, light and ease to recharge. The "Go" looks pretty sweet.

    0:28 I only had 2 type of nasal masks. The first one I was given after testing which similar to the ResMed P10 was the Philips Respironics Nuance Pro. From which I can tell the only difference besides the Nasal Pillows which has a Gel that makes it super comfortable. The other difference is the gel pads on the cheek straps which also makes it super comfortable. Because at night it is so cooling & sweat less. I wish all mask had the Gel. * Also the Philips Respironics Nuance Pro had a strap at the top so the hose points upward & stays at the top of the head so you can sleep in any position side or on back. He is Right unless you strapped it very tight the Nasal Pillows can come out but with it tight it will feel uncomfortable. So theoretically the Philips Respironics Nuance Pro you can sleep in any position but in reality occasionally can slip out. But it was the most comfortable mask, very simple & easy to use plus less time consuming. 4:19 The second one was the ResMed N20 (AirFit), seen in this video. It is good for side sleeping but requires a lot adjusting and a lot of time adjusting. And constant adjustments from time to time. So being a side sleeper and using this one required a lot of patience to adjust, to figure out the right fitting for the Nasal Pillow. Because as I moved my head from side to side and it touched the "Head Pillow" on each side of the Nasal Pillows the right or the left side will either leak from the top right blowing into my eye or the top left blowing into my eye; or through the bottom right or bottom left fittings. So you have to adjust the straps on the upper left and the upper right or the lower left and the lower right each time to see if there are air leaks, which takes a lot of time and patience to figure out. (Also, because you have to make adjustments to see, to make sure it's not too tight or too loose.) Because if you don't and it's too tight it will feel uncomfortable or if it feels loose even though it's not leaking it will feel like it's about to come off. With all these adjustments, it requires a lot of effort and time to make sure it is fitted right and comfortable. But once it is it is good for side sleeping. May have to adjust once or twice a week to maintain comfort and to also prevent any air leakage. * ResMed doesn't have cooling Gels so I would recommend the Nasal Pillow he mentioned the (AirTouch) for comfort, and based off this video it will be an easier time & less time adjusting & fitting. It would be awesome if they had a hybrid where it was simplistic like the Philips Respironics Nuance Pro with Less effort & adjustments, plus having less time to put in. With the Nasal Pillow of the ResMed N20 (AirFit) except with cooling Gels in the Nasal Pillow. And also cooling straps or cooling gel cushion on the straps.
