How do you get those nostril pieces to line up? I got a medium one and can't get them to line up well. Not enough air thru nose and pressure builds up APAP.

0:28 I only had 2 type of nasal masks. The first one I was given after testing which similar to the ResMed P10 was the Philips Respironics Nuance Pro. From which I can tell the only difference besides the Nasal Pillows which has a Gel that makes it super comfortable. The other difference is the gel pads on the cheek straps which also makes it super comfortable. Because at night it is so cooling & sweat less. I wish all mask had the Gel.
    * Also the Philips Respironics Nuance Pro had a strap at the top so the hose points upward & stays at the top of the head so you can sleep in any position side or on back.
He is Right unless you strapped it very tight the Nasal Pillows can come out but with it tight it will feel uncomfortable.
So theoretically the Philips Respironics Nuance Pro you can sleep in any position but in reality occasionally can slip out.
But it was the most comfortable mask, very simple & easy to use plus less time consuming.
4:19 The second one was the ResMed N20 (AirFit), seen in this video. It is good for side sleeping but requires a lot adjusting and a lot of time adjusting. And constant adjustments from time to time.
So being a side sleeper and using this one required a lot of patience to adjust, to figure out the right fitting for the Nasal Pillow.
Because as I moved my head from side to side and it touched the "Head Pillow" on each side of the Nasal Pillows the right or the left side will either leak from the top right blowing into my eye or the top left blowing into my eye; or through the bottom right or bottom left fittings.
So you have to adjust the straps on the upper left and the upper right or the lower left and the lower right each time to see if there are air leaks, which takes a lot of time and patience to figure out. (Also, because you have to make adjustments to see, to make sure it's not too tight or too loose.)
Because if you don't and it's too tight it will feel uncomfortable or if it feels loose even though it's not leaking it will feel like it's about to come off.
With all these adjustments, it requires a lot of effort and time to make sure it is fitted right and comfortable.
But once it is it is good for side sleeping. May have to adjust once or twice a week to maintain comfort and to also prevent any air leakage.
    * ResMed doesn't have cooling Gels so I would recommend the Nasal Pillow he mentioned the (AirTouch) for comfort, and based off this video it will be an easier time & less time adjusting & fitting.
It would be awesome if they had a hybrid where it was simplistic like the Philips Respironics Nuance Pro with Less effort & adjustments, plus having less time to put in. With the Nasal Pillow of the ResMed N20 (AirFit) except with cooling Gels in the Nasal Pillow. And also cooling straps or cooling gel cushion on the straps.

Regarding the Vitara mask, I have it's predecessor the Simplus, I am a back and side sleeper, I'm forced to use a full face mask due to mouth leaks and jam drop syndrome, (had give up my Resmed N20), love this mask, score 100% every night on Resmed "my Air". I see the improvements on the Vitara so that will be my
    next full face mask.

I have the N20 and find the cushion itself to fit extremely well. I have an issue with the frame being too large for my head though. It seems extremely tall. They also don't have women's headgear. The frame already goes to where the end of the headgear is. So I have to attach the velcro to the strap that goes across the back. I also have to slightly bow the frame otherwise where the top strap connects is way at the top of my head. If they only had a women's size frame and headgear, this would be an excellent mask. The cushion itself is so great that it is worth putting up with the frame and headgear being too large.

Nope not “the” best mask for side sleepers. If a sleep apnea sufferers who do not have major dental issues. The Tap Pap nasal pillow mask by Airway. Hands down is my must have mask. I’m a bonifide true blue side sleeper. But I hate shifting straps of any degree. With the tap pap mouth piece that is never ever a problem. Nasal pillows stay locked in position like Fort Knox. There is also zero dreaded face mask strap marks . So check out Tap Pap nose pillow mask. You try that baby once and you’ll never go back to strap city.

I have narrow nasal airways so any mask that touches my nose makes it harder to breathe in. I currently use the P10 and it's not working because of that reason. My nose isn't pointed but it is shaped away from my face so it is hard to fit. Cradles and pillows squish my nasal airways. My face is thin so leaking is a problem.

For the life of me I can't understand what the vent holes on the top side of the elbow hose attachment are doing. I'm surprised the silicone causes irritation. Are you perhaps using some sort of medicated or scented cream or lotion prior to applying the mask? I'm a side sleeper with a 95% APAP pressure of about 14. Would that be too high a pressure for the P30i pillow mask (ie, force of air going directly into the nostrils)?? • @tatochip

I’m at 17 cmH2O and have no issues with the P30i. I’m a side sleeper who has tried LOTS of different masks. The P30i is what I’ve stayed with for quite some time. It’s the first mask I’ve used that rarely wakes me up because it’s leaking (the N20 leaked for me). I sleep with the side of my face almost buried in my pillow. I like that this system vents on the mask and on the hose attachment. I like that the hose is on top and totally out of the way. Some people have issues with dry nostrils. I found that the dry nostril issue dissipated over time. The high pressure is not a problem for me. Oh…if you try it make sure you get the right size. Use the measuring guide (get the Fit Pack with 3 sizes at first) Also be patient finding the right adjustment for the Velcro strap. It did take some experimenting getting everything just right, but now I’m a happy side sleeper!

This may be a dumb question, so apologies in advance: what do you mean exactly by “side sleeping?” Or to put it another way, side-sleeping as opposed to what? Back sleeping? I use a p-10 and sleep “stomach down” with my head turned to the side. Do you consider that to be side sleeping? The p-10 isn’t ideal, but the only success I have had has been with nasal pillows - I can’t get a good seal with the under-nose masks.

Hi there, side sleepers will sleep on their shoulders and often alternate sides throughout the night. Stomach Sleeping (you), is similar to side sleeping, so this video still applies. A top mounted mask (if you find it comfortable), such as the P30i with a tube hook, would likely yield the best results for you.

Not a remotely credible review. The n20 frame rigidity will push the mask away from your nose and cause severe leaks and noise. Likewise n30 and dreamwear variants also dislodge as soon as you lay your head on the side, and start leaking heavily. I admit to being vain but I don't want to have a bad hair day everyday for the rest of my life, it there anything that you don't have to wrap around olyour head like a bad ortho headgear from the the 80's.

Try BLEEP masks. They do not need headgear and are amazing. We can not sell them in Canada, but we will be coming out with a review soon.

LOL, you didn't include Eclipse or DreamPort? You left out the best side sleeping mask on the market; let's you sleep on your side with NO headgear or straps, and won't leak if you put them on correctly. Really missed the mark on this. I propose a LIVE STREAM where we face roll on the pillow, but we add in a pressure of straight 25. Let's see you bring any your masks to that.
