Good thing you had your helper there to get those headlight buckets and help hold the door. Keep the AWESOME VW content coming

U pull it yards are the place to be👍🏻 it’s like being on a treasure hunt and sometimes u do find gold, those rare parts that are so hard to find and when u find it it’s so satisfying. Enjoyed the vid, good to see you had your sidekick working with you 👍🏻. Looking forward to the next vid. 💯

Empire Wreckers is huge...I have been dealing with Edgar and Sam there since they were called Ralph's on Mitchell Island 20 years ago. It's too bad it's so far out in the Valley but you are right, it's a dieing business. Glad you scored some parts for the builds R!

A pair of locking vise grips on the gas piston is the move to hold the hatch up of next time!

You sound like me when old dubs are discovered in a yard...that white mk3 grill you picked up is actually worth some coin as it's the multi-piece.

Fixed front quarter windows with seals!! Damn dude I was screaming at you to take them the whole time! So rare in Aus.

Junk yards are my weird happy place. Our local pickn'pulls had a 1/2 price everything over the 4th July weekend, and of course we were out of town on a family vacation.
TIL about the 07K swap. 100s of 1000s of those engines in N.America for parts!

Awesome taking us along with you and your son to the yard. That's something I still need to do with my son. I'm with you I could spend all day in the yard looking and pulling stuff. In MD we have a number of yards (LKQ) which have a website where we can setup a garage of vehicles we are interested in and when they come in you can set it up to get notified.

I used to love going to the breakers yards here in 🇬🇧 for Mk1 and Mk2 golf stuff, always finding great upgrade parts like seats and wheels, but sadly it’s a thing of the past mostly now, they treat parts prices like it’s eBay over here now

Mk3 cars came with rear disc on 94 only. They went back to drums in 95. Rear disc's had problems with seizing.

Man, this brings back some fun memories. I remember going to a couple places in Victoria with a buddy pretty often, Tom Cat Auto and Malahat Auto were common stomping grounds for us.

i can imagine that the Jag v12 engine would be worth some money. but nice video i always enjoy a junkyard video. i feel the same way as you, i could spend all day at a junkyard just browsing all of the cool little bits that may be useful in the future. But i sadly don't have the space for all the junk i take home :P

Could you do an episode on complete re-wiring. I have an 82 Rabbit the the previous owners chop up all the wires so I'm going to try and rewire it. Thanks
