- On this episode I went to Brașov (300km far from Cluj-Napoca, where I live) to meet a fellow car collector and also buy some parts for the blue MK1.

Damn, that's a lot of surface rust on the Scirocco MK1. Can't wait for more footage on that MK2 tho, looks really good.

Van nekem is 2es GTI meg 1es szívó dizel, utóbbin még dolgozok, de megmondom őszintén nekem az a része màr nem fekszik a veteránozasnak, amikor szinte semmi nincs hozzá, és ebay-en kell szó szerint akár éveket várni mire egy vagyont kifizetsz valami NOS apróságokért, vagy várod míg lesz aftermarket karpit, panel, miegyéb szintén rohadt drágán. 10 éve, mikor a 2est csináltam már annál is kezdődött, és gondolhatod,.hogy az egyes meg most milyen kihívás... nemrég az első lengéscsillapító házakat,.rugotanyért lakatoltam, építettem újjá mert el volt vekonyodva, rohadva itt-ott es csak patront kapsz csak bele, kompletten nincs gyári.. de sok ilyen dolog van.. esőtalca elrohadt, lehet azt is megcsinálni szépen, préselni, formazni tàblalemezből.. sokszor egyébként a drága német wepshopokban is csak listaznak valami ritka kasztni elemet,.de nincs nekik...

for MK! parts get to know some one in South Africa because body parts are almost available in any house hold (SERIOUS)the only issue is that the cars a like the British standard,RHD (right hand drive) so steering rack and dash is out of the question.
You can find almost every single body panel for the mk1 scirocco, brand new, at VW Classic Parts in Germany, its quite expensive BUT you can still find them.
I know tha company, and yes you cand find parts. And I said that here in Romania you can't sort out parts for the scirocco, and he is buying them from Germany. And also you can't buy a new bonnet, and a new wing is 500€ and quarter panel is 1000€. So that,s why it is important to find second hand parts.
