I love when officers like this, who are genuinely good people, get shown off. There’s definitely some bad police officers out there, but it’s a nice reminder that there’s also ones who do want to help and protect people.

I moved to Arkansas a couple of years ago and the state troopers wear these hats. And they're really nice as long as you're not snuggling drugs lol. I didn't see any type of law enforcement for the first 8 months we lived out here. It was very strange since living in California my whole life there are cops every turn you make.

As a woman who worked for 4 years at a truck stop, the majority of truckers will 100% have your back! I can’t tell you how many times I was at work and something went down and all the truckers in the store dropped everything to make sure the employees were ok. Hats off to truckers for real! ❤️

Hey Toast! love your content. So, I'm a officer for the state in GA and figured id answer your question with the legal ramifications of bystanders helping officers (in this case the truck driver). It is not frowned upon to help officers. If anything you can consider helping by making a "citizens arrest." most of the time though, Officers prefer bystanders to not jump in just due to their safety and the liability. as example of this is when she jumped back in the vehicle is when he kind of showed up. As a officer i would be concerned of what she has in there and now where the bystander is standing he's 1. in traffic and 2. in line of sight for any weapons she may have. but him just grabbing the taser and offering help is always appreciated. Now if it was more of a rural area where backup could be 30 minutes + away (my jurisdiction) i defiantly wouldn't complain for the help. I've had bystanders help me contain a mentally ill subject before when fighting and i also told people not to get involved. It just depends on the situation and location. but overall there's no ramifications for giving help. just a safety concern.

im a criminal justice major and one of my professors (retired NY State Trooper) told us of a situation where he and his partner came across a bunch of underage kids drinking in the woods and told them to go home (this was in the 90s). long story short, this one kid was being an asshole, and they told the kid not to drive his bike because he was obviously hammered. then they leave and wait for them all to drive by, and of course the kid is on the bike. they pull him over, he completely changed his demeanor, is no longer an asshole and is extremely apologetic, and it turns out he shits himself when they turned their lights on. they arrest him for DWI.

My dad was a cop and he had a similar situation (no poop involved luckily), long story short he was being nice to a guy, he tells him just to sit on the curb while things get sorted. The guy tried to get up and run 3 times, with my dad just putting him back on the curb with a warning the first 2 times. On the third time he ran and got tased and was taken to the ground. In my dad’s buddy’s car the perp goes, “damn… That old guy wasn’t fk’n around.” There was a banner on his door at the station the next day that had that quote in big letters. 😂

The difference in DUI and DWI is the state you are located in. While and under have the same meaning in a court of law.
Also OWI. My home state doesn't have DWI's and sometimes they charge DUI cause it's easier to prove impairment of some sort instead of specifically alcohol
