Yes and no because most of these creeps are very insecure and don't think of hurting their "love" until after the fact, in other words most end the life of their victim not because of resentment but because they're scared of imprisonment or what people will think of them. Shame is a powerful weapon against those who are insecure, sometimes to them it's a fate worse than death.

The ones I worry about most and can’t watch are the CZcamsr TCAP copycats that don’t directly involve the police from the beginning m. They put their decoys in bad situations and sometimes include them in the “interrogation”

This now makes so much sense, despite it being obvious the whole time... Older men/women going for teenaged girls and boys because of a lack of confidence, amongst other things.

It can be more than just the lack of confidence. Lots of other sad social issues. My best friend became an agoraphobe after we graduated HS. While I went to college, went on in life, etc, he didn't. Instead, he would talk to underage girls and asian girls in online MMOs. When he told me, I told him we have too many moral differences. There are A LOT of factors that can happen when these people go down that sx predator road. In his case, his father raised them solo and the mother was divorced/at the bar. All 4 siblings developed learned helplessness, as well. The thought of self/societal improvement was laughable to them. Their perception grew differently than mine by the time we grew up. Luckily, my best friend didn't leave home so he was harmless, but I think he would have if he could.
I think this may become more common because becoming invisible in society is becoming a norm now, after the coofdemic happened. Hopefully, that turns around next decade.
