  • How to do a few simple changes to the Revell 1968 Hemi Dart part 1. Other than the resin seats that I have had a long time that were from AFX-N-Scale (no longer in business). You can do this yourself.
    If Your looking for resin seats, check out these from Harts Parts. They have the seats, dash and door panels in a kit. hartspartsresin.com/product/r...

    As an owner of one of these cars I'm super impressed, you did a great job man, a few things I wish I could have seen and pointed out for the extra affect but you did it great, good tip for my fellow model guys go to your local O'Reilly's or parts store and you can get a roll of 12"x36" vinyl wrap and it's great for leather seats, dash mats, door panels, vinyl roofs, headliners, basically anything you want to have a leather look and feel.

    For the battery tray area, remove and repair that area. On the real car (personal knowledge) the tray was never put in and all you would see is the inner fender. Just follow the contour of the fender. If you want to be super correct, there is just a little "shelf" where the tray attaches but for the model it wouldn't matter.

    I have noticed that most vehicles with "radio delete" or "heater delete " option, have block off plates to cover the hole in the dash. I plan to make them from flat sheet styrene for mine. Which I was encouraged to purchase from watching your videos and liking MOPAR a little more from watching "Graveyard Carz "

    • @TheMuscleCarModeler
      @TheMuscleCarModeler  Před 2 lety +1

      Cool! Most of those plates are flush or recessed when installed. So that is why I just sand them down.

      Absolutely. This is supposed to be fun so enjoy it! If these errors bug you and you feel that this is a chore to fix. Then you are probably not enjoying the build as much as you could be.

    You could have just used the Hemi option with the sport package and made into a Street machine, allowing you to keep all the interior pieces (Less work and still realistic). Many people did just that back in the day, driving to the grocery store on Sunday with the same car they raced down the strip with on Fri/Sat night ;) Nice video really cool to see all the work you have done.

    I can not tell you how glad I am to find this info. I am doing this exact build as a part of a series of LO23 Super Stock Darts. I have 8 of these in the works now with plans for at least 3 more. I have already done many of the mods you have shown but wasn't sure about how to add the brackets to the seats and or lift them. Further, as I planning on doing some of the builds with the windows up I was really unsure of how to do the window strap buttons. Those pins you are using look just right. I have noticed that some of the snaps were placed below the armrest and some behind it. I like the look of the strap going through or behind the armrest so mine will all go that way. 🙂 Still not sure about the seatbelts and even if the passenger seats had any. But will certainly be adding them to the driver's seat. I just wonder if they used a stock type of belt or an aftermarket style safety harness with a lever-type buckle. I have watched the Drag-On-Lady video a few times and am still not sure.
    Love your videos and your builds Raoul, well most of them lol. The rest I just like HAHAHAHA!

    • @TheMuscleCarModeler
      @TheMuscleCarModeler  Před 2 lety +1

      That is the only real kit to start from. Or find an old MPC 1968 issue. I have a few myself. Bandit Resin did offer a resin kit. I don't know if he offers it still. It is nice! I also have another one from another caster that I made friends with long ago that I started. I'll get back to that one soon.

    • @davidparker2259
      @davidparker2259 Před 2 lety

      Yes, I phrased that badly. Any MPC kit would be the last thing you’d want to start out with for anything but the body. And the Barracuda kit you can still find is a ‘69, and you need a ‘68, correct? So pull out one of what I imagine are your many Miss Mighty Mopars, and you can get going on it, right? Ha ha. Though I’m betting you have a few up your sleeve.
