Thank you for your wonderful videos. I read The Furniture Doctor by George Grotz at a very young age and have been refinishing furniture ever since. I'm 70 now and not so able but it is a great delight to refinish vicariously through your eyes.
I opened this video and was shocked to see "my" newspaper table which sits not 5 feet from where I'm working. I inherited mine. The one notable difference are those 4 veneer plugs in the top over top the four legs. Ours has a solid veneer, so I suspect yours is a tad older in design. Ours has held up remarkably well for 50+ years of a very active family.
Perfect timing. A new Dashner video is the perfect complement to breakfast and morning coffee.
Thank you.
Him: explaining
Me: nodding like I know things because I took that one woodwork class in 7th grade
I’m SO happy that there’s someone on CZcams that that’s actually RESTORING vintage furniture and not slapping grey chalk paint on it (horrendous!). Honestly, you’re doing god’s work out here... Instant subscribe!
Excellent work again! And congrats on your feature in the NYT 'what to watch' this week. Much deserved.
Thank you!
Your ability to match colors and take advantage of the unique characteristics of the piece, which some may consider to be flaws or imperfections, is what makes your videos so wonderful to watch. As other commenters have noted, I wish I were in your area and were able to purchase some of these treasures. I always look forward to your posts and wish you all of the best!
I’m curious to see this mans personal furniture collection, ie the pieces that he’s kept for his own home. Could be a cool video
I'm also a fan who'd love a tour! He has shown a few pieces in place in the house!
I was just thinking the same.
I love the wet the wood trick to pre match the repair. 👍🏻
Beautiful and you’re such a gentle teacher.
I love how you're saving old furniture. This stuff is not expensive, but it's not cheap particle board with cheap veneer or paint on it. This stuff is worth saving. You fix the structural issues as well as making it look good. You're making it so that people who live on a strict budget can buy something that will last, and looks good
I think this table is one of the most simple, but beautiful Mid Century Modern pieces that you have done. I'm kind of partial to this style as I grew up with pieces like this one. My Grandmother loved lane furniture, and she would have loved this table. Very nice job; enjoyed watching this video
I enjoy your calm, common sense narrations.
Wow, the wood grain is beautiful! Great job 👍
Thank you.
The artistry is what I love to see.
So calming. And the chirping birds in the background!
I started watching you a year ago when I was looking for instruction on refinishing an old sewing cabinet to turn into a bathroom vanity. Thanks to you and a little prior knowledge imparted to me by my Dad, it turned out beautifully. I’m still watching for three reasons: 1) You always have some interesting pieces to share, 2) Your voice is so soothing, and 3) Your hands remind me of my Dad’s who was a master woodworker. He’s been gone from this earth for 25 years. Thank you so much.
Your work is amazing and I have learned so much from your videos. You are a great teacher.
still so excited to see you featured in nyt, i hope your channel will reach so many more people! i can’t believe i’ve been watching for over a year now!
Great job it looks amazing, and good for another 60 or 70 years of use. 👍👍👍
I really enjoy your videos. I also watch Thomas Johnson Restoration.
Hello! Watching you work is as if I am watching an art restorer, but with wood! Take care and be well! Kelly
The curling in the walnut veneer is beautiful, and the thru tenons are awesome
Nice save of the joints.
Very beautiful table top!
👨🦽👍
Nicely done. I think it looks pretty good. ; )
TJ and I agree
@@jcrefasi1 So glad someone got it!

Dashner and Tom Johnson are 2 of my favorites!
The sound of sandpaper/steel wool and rain in the background is really relaxing.

Beautiful table. You have great taste in the peices that you refinish. Nice to know about those fake wood dow's . The could really fool a person into thinking it's hand made. Lol
I'm Amazing the job you Do, I'm new on your show, I was looking how to restore coffee table but your Video Vlogg is more interesting, and Do love the work you Do the Care, Time and Precious, Patience also how you care for those Antique Furniture you bring them back to Life 🙏🤗🙏
Mr. Dashner, you make it look so easy, but I know it’s not. Enjoyed!
You are a master 🙌 with wood .I use to make furniture years ago but I still do like you .

Wow that is one gorgeous table it's just beautiful great job
I absolutely LOVE the ripping effect on the top. So beautiful. Great job!
Thank you.
Very well done video, loved the comments, well narrated.
LOVE THAT MCM STYLE...GREAT JOB!!!
awesome!! i love these videos and appreciate how you explain what youre doing and why. thanks for uploading!
Thank you.
The finish you used in this one is my favourite way to finish MCM furniture if it has a nice veneer. It doesn't put a thick surface on the piece, it highlights the beauty of the wood, it's durable, and it's relatively easy to do well. I have been using boiled linseed instead of Danish oil, but the result is basically the same. I just have to ensure that I leave the piece long enough for the oil to fully cure in the wood before I spray the lacquer. Nice to see you using good quality products like the Mohawk lacquer. I like that stuff a lot (though their rattle cans sometimes spit and leave spots.)
Its been raining all weekend. Nice video to pass the time.
The table is beautiful. Thanks for the video.
You sir, are like the artist who repaired Woody in Toy Story 2…
I've been waiting forever for a new video. Thanks! Keep up the great work!
Awesome job on a lovely mcm piece. They just don’t make furniture that beautiful anymore. Thank you for bringing it back to its original glory.
Love these nuggets of gold you find in thrift stores. Mid century furniture is so beautifully made and designed. Lovely job as always!
Another 10/10 restoration! That grain is gorgeous!
Wow! The difference with the new finish is amazing. Nice job! 💜
This guy is pretty amazing right down to the accent its hypnotic!
Turned out so beautiful.
Beautiful, you did a great job. 👍Nice video, thanks for sharing. All the best. Peace and good fortune and good health to you and yours. 😀
Looks great....I love it!!!
Thank you!
I love these videos! The treasure hunt is always more fun than just going to a store and buying the first uninspired piece of furniture you see.
That grain is so pretty
Really nice. Another piece saved.
That top is be-u-ta-ful ❤
Great job!!!
Thank you!
Beautiful as always!
I very love it. Beautiful table.
Lane has always made such beautiful furniture and you brought that out in this piece. Better than new.
Great job, as always. I enjoy how your thrift store finds are so respectfully brought back to life. Unfortunately it's hard to pick up 2nd hand pieces here in Oz, as they are either too few or far between, or far too expensive to justify the time and effort.
Thanks for adding your papal link.
I always watch the ads (to help generate revenue) but it always feels like pennies (if that). I've sent you a paypal 'Thanks for the video' appreciation.
Thank you!
Perfect timing. Just before I go to bed. Something to watch before sleeping. That was a beautiful treatment too.
I love the aesthetics if your video, so calming!
Love the way he talks us through it really teaches, such a smooth clear voice gotta sub!
Beautiful!
WOW, that came out beautifully :-)
Nicely done, very good. Also it was a pleasure to watch the video.

❣Beautiful! Thank You. ❣
Nice, easy job, well executed. Good video, thank you.
Perfect for this Memorial Day weekend--a new video from Dashner Restoration. Great watching this transformation, plus the ASMR effect of rain softly falling in the background.
Beautiful!!❤️❤️
Wow. Great job!
I'm only about 2/3 through the video but I had to stop and say thank you for the thorough explanation at the beginning of the grits of sandpaper that you use, why and how you use your orbital sander, and how and why you finish by hand sanding. So helpful! Thank you again. 😀
Lovely job as always 👏
I wish you had addressed the top where it looks like the tendon were split and wedged where the legs came up. Loved the way the top looks. Overall love to watch your videos. Please keep making them as they give me inspiration.
Looks great 😊
Really nice. I love how the grain on the top looks. Gorgeous.
Oh well done. It looks wonderful
It looks fantastic!!
Another well done job!!!! Keep em comin'.....
Looks beautiful
Looks like a nice piece, well done.
I have this exact table! It’s a beautiful piece
Thank you for another great video! I have never really been interested in woodworking until recently--I have long hair and have started using hair sticks to hold my bun up. I had a couple of sets of old lacquered wood chopsticks that were pretty worn out looking, so I sanded the cracked lacquer off and I love the way they look. I was inspired to buy some pen blanks of exotic woods and with a little help from a band saw and a belt sander, I have a bunch of roughed out sticks to hand finish. I'm going to try finishing them with Danish oil, which I had no knowledge of until I started watching your videos. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and experience...and inspiration!
Thanks for posting. I always learn something new from your videos and try to apply that to my own restoration projects. Thanks.
Nice work, table well saved
Great video as always. Thank you!
Thanks for watching.
So beautiful! I think I will try what I have learned from you once our thrift shops open back up.
Gorgeous
Great patterning on that piece of veneer.
That was a nice project!
Nice. Always think of my Mom when you work on these mid century modern, Danish Modern pieces. Those were her favorites. I built a coffee table many years ago that was very similar to this piece, only in a Shaker style.
A beauty😍
Soooo beautiful result! Such a minimalistic table and so beautiful, i very like it
