Resurrecting Beauty: Refinishing a badly damaged teak coffee table

- I'm using Mohawk toners and lacquer to try to save this mid century coffee table. This Swedish built designer piece was found in a thrift store in pretty rough shape and despite the stains and scratches, I knew it had potential. I had to order a part for it from the UK so the project overall took longer than expected. While the outcome wasn't *perfect*, I'm quite happy with it, and it lives with us now.

The table, of course, turned out beautiful. I am so sorry that you lost Muffin. Cats bring so much joy, laughter, and fun to our lives, but it’s when you lose them that you realized how much of an integral part of our lives and our hearts that they really are. These furniture is from my home turf 🇸🇪. JO Carlsson and Karl-Erik Ekselius is quite popular over here and prices for a table like this depending on quality is in between 100 to 400 dollars canadian. Chairs is a bit higher but they are in high demand. You made that table high demand! You are so talented, i just love it, and you restored it to its former pristine glory. Good job!

The work is perfect as always. You seem to see the real soul of the wood and treat it with such respect. My dad was the same way. We let him go in 2020 and I started refinishing furniture without him for the first time last year. Your channel makes me feel him a little closer sometimes. Of course, love and condolences for the loss of your dear pet. It is so hard to let them go and it always feels too soon. My dad would have sworn he was a dog person, but his constant companion in his scary trip through dementia was his cat Cuddles. She was never the same after his death and she only lasted a little bit longer without him. I hope they're together somewhere out there now.

Alls I can say, other than I know you feel your pain in the fabric of your life, is that I hope and pray that all our furr babies will be with us come time for us to leave this plane. I know the life Muffin experienced with y’all was a joyful one as you always speak with respect for their individual lives and personalities. Muffin has left his/her essence everywhere, and only the 2d elements have passed. No one baby is like another and will stay in your hearts and minds forever. They are such blessings that they enrich us so much and are made of pure unconditional love. What a gorgeous kitty and you’ve done yourself proud again with this teak table. Hang in there.

Tearing up now for your loss. I'm certain Lulu Muffin was loved and cared for deeply throughout her life w you. She is now FREE and will visit. Sometimes if you see another one of your cats acting like muffin, it is her way of coming for a visit. She feels no loss which should give you great solace. this turned out beautifully! I actually love the darker color. I happen to like rosewood, so I think it turned out to be an excellent tone! I'm so sorry to hear about Muffin.
