I love this content. No music... methodical voice over... just peaceful woodworking. It’s almost like Bob Ross.
Keep it up dude.
So kind of the people in the back to cheer for your finished table...
Haha that was my first thought
Yup seems a wedding in top left background. Nice catch
🤣😂🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
and dressing up for the occasion too!
i liek the wedding in the background
PersianImm0rtal what I loved was the 4-8-4 Alco of Milwaukie Road from last year
They were cheering for the table
Nice. Background wedding was great
PersianImm0rtal Loved the wedding also. I also like the birds chirping in the background, very peaceful. His videos are very calming.
Except for the 2 metres of distance they weren't keeping.
“And here it is, all finished”
And the crowd cheers!
😁
BOOOO!!!!!!
"I just took a little slice of veneer and glued it in"
Seriously? That is some mad skill you have. St. Dashner, patron saint of lost and abandoned furniture. As usual, great job.
That's what I say !
Not that mad. Just because you can't do anything worthwhile with your hands doesn't make everything you see impressive. A lot of this work was done in very unskilled and haphazard ways. It could be so much better. But you'd never know because you're an idiot.
@@User0000000000000004 wow, very rude for such a simple restoration video, idiot.
@@XtremeChiliPepper Yeah he is rude but i understand his drift. Don't give excessive undue compliments. Besides he is using far much chemicals and layering them too.
@@User0000000000000004 Can you give a specific example or two? Not trying to pick a fight here, just trying to learn. I can do some basic stuff and I watch these videos to learn more.
Theres always something happening in the background, it’s a good touch of reality
Last year I finished a small table my mother-in-law picked up at a tag sale. The neat thing about the whole project was it never felt like a chore.
Your videos gave me the confidence to complete it. My daughter now has it in her apartment in NYC. Thanks again for all your projects.
That's not a rescue, that's a resurrection. Great job.
A relaxing break from a troubled world , thanks man 👍
These videos are both therapeutic and inspiring at the same time
All that and a wedding across the street. Excellent work, my friend.
I love seeing the repairs disappear as you touch them up.
One day could you go over the tools (brushes, scrapers, blue towels) you use. I appreciate every video you post. They are soothing and informative. Thank you
He has two videos posted with his favorite tools and products with which he likes to work.
@@tmbflyer thank you
I get so pumped whenever I see you have a new video out
Same
I am getting so relaxed!
I just started watching his videos makes me want to start projects.
My brain is fried and my heart feels heavy watching what is happening to your country so came here to feel healed, it worked, thanks. Nice table too.
We will survive and prosper once again! Thank you for your comment!
We're sad too, but hopefully we will overcome this and be stronger for it. Peace ✌
don't let it get to you.
It's growing pains. We'll be stronger after. It feels devastating in real time but ultimately it's for the better and we'll come out the other side with a more equitable society. Thank you for your kind words!
We’re going to be alright. Growing pains!
Commenting not because I have something to say but to help the algorithm, you sir are an amazing man
"A little sliver of new veneer..." I thought, what? No way.
That and the "baby" patch at 4:24 really blew my mind away.
Your skills never cease to suprise me. Another beautiful restoration. 👌 👌
Looks like a beautiful mended fabric. Love the meeting of the geometric shapes.
He’s the Bob Ross of furniture renovation! So detailed and meticulous.
I think the thing I’ve always liked about all your videos is that there are people going about their lives around you while you do your magic on the pieces. It reminds me of my neighborhood when I was growing up.
If the previous owner would've seen the end result of your restoration (s)he would've wanted it back 😊👍🏽.
Beautifully done.
When I was a kid our neighbor had a table like that the shelf was glass and you could slide like pictures and magazines underneath it. She called it her vacation table. She and her hubby always put their vacation pictures under the glass. I loved looking at them. She would tease me and say she know when I snuck off to the front room. There be nose and finger prints on the glass.
nice memory
This is so sweet!!
Should tag this in the description 'how to repair veneer on a damaged lane table.' So many good tips here.
I miss my dad. He could do anything and was so soft spoken and patient like you. Love your easy to follow video. You are my new mentor. I love restoring old treasures. Thank you Sir!
Love that you caught the end of the wedding in the background. The bride and groom need to see this :)
A wedding gift perhaps? Lol
you're like that painter on TV that just paints forests and meadows and talks in that slow, deliberate manner that lulls ya into relaxation and eventual sleep...Nice job....
Thing I love about this channel is you don't have a huge workshop filled with insanely expensive tools but still manage to do some excellent work.
Amazing how those patches disappeared. You’re the master.
Love candle light and antique walnut. Both are beautiful warm stains. The table came out beautiful.
Thank you.
Dashner Design & Restoration what brand is the candlelight?
@@brittianica General Finishes.
You sir are a true artist. That looks fantastic!
Thank you!
Your videos continue to be everything I love in a video: no music, soothing voice, detailed tutorial, beautiful transformation... Thank you so much!
Absolutely love the calm and utterly unpretentious presentation in these videos. A welcome break from much of CZcams.
One thing I've learned from you is how to make efficient use of scraping tools. Thank you.
I love the cheer at the end...almost as if they were cheering for you (I know it was a wedding...but pretty cool timing)
I haven't been watching you for long, but do you know what I really admire about the your work? I haven't seen you strip down a beautiful wood object and paint it bright blue or green or whatever. I haven't seen any distressed farmhouse or shabby chic, either. There's nothing wrong with those styles, but I love watching someone restore pieces to their original beauty. Thanks! Blessings all!!!! 🌺🌺
You are like the Bob Ross of furniture restoration. Great work!
Your videos have a spiritual quality.
Your videos are SOOO relaxing to watch, quiet, birds chirping, I need a nap now.
I really admire that you do your work with basic, affordable hand tools in a smaller space. When i see huge shops with every single power tool made it makes me feel less like i could do something similar
You brought it back to "life". Amazing job as always.
This guy has got me thinking about going back to that thrift store and getting that set of 4 wooden chairs all for $12. I think I got this.
Good morning! Breakfast and a new furniture restoration video make a great start to the day.
Thanks for watching.
I have the same table-two of them. My mother bought them originally. I’ve had them since the 70s and they’re in perfect condition. You did an awesome job! I’m now a subscriber and I’m looking forward to lots more videos!
I would LOVE a video where you tell us everything we need to start doing this. All the tools in your inventory, from what's more prioritized to what is used the least. Because you do an excellent job!
Hi, I did a faq video recently where I talked about tools.
@@DashnerDesignRestoration Yes my bad i noticed it right after i commented, very informative i love it! Would be cool if you can tell us what you think you'll sell the pieces you fix for.
Painstakingly, meticulous work which always pays off in the end. It's such a joy to watch you work. The patch work was amazing as it, like magic, disappeared. Thank you
I love the attention to detail. From patching veneer to the very last staining touch-up on the dowel that didn't quite match (which was fantastic by the way), I loved every minute of this video. And that table is absolutely stunning.
So simple and easy. So perfect and beautiful. Lots of great trucks and much talent for such a young man.
GORGEOUS! After all that expert craftsmanship you have to list it for $2000!
Anyone else fascinated and watching these videos because---well, Wednesday night. ;-)
The table turned out nice! The added effort to blend in the little patches is awesome!
I build and restore props for theatre and I love working with furniture. I love your work and your skill it's always impressive. I'll be sure to keep all these tips and tricks in mind with my next restoration project!
Every single time I find a new piece to refinish I check your page to see if you’ve made a video covering something similar before...so far you’ve helped me out with Lane Acclaim, Rhythm, and now HeyWake
Dude, you have the perfect mellow vioce for furniture repair videos
It is so nice to see artists taking such pride in an old but wonderful art. Thank you
A work of love for good old furniture…..thanks for sharing!
‘Cuz who doesn't have a plug cutter just laying around...lol. You've got got awesome skills.
Hi 'Dasher' I jus listend to this video once more (since 4 months). I think of having enjoyed it even better. I observed details, hints, way of proceeding. and when you presented the finished table, youngsters where cheering in the bucket the school, what a sweet ending.I like this table very much.
It's brilliant, just brilliant
This channel is all substance and no flash, so refreshing and enjoyable.
We have 2 MCM Lane end tables that are almost identical to this piece, but without the shelf. They were my parents' for their first apartment after they got married in the mid-60s. They're a little in need of TLC, so you've inspired me to spiff them up.
🐼 Big Bear Hugs from a 67 yr old grandma in Kirby, Texas, USA 🐼......
A really nice color matching job and blending and think when you go and sell it to some young couple. They are going to paint it blue and laminate an Industrial diamond plate on the top :-) Thanks again for the video
Horror!
I learn so many techniques from your videos! Thank you so much for sharing your skills !
A fine antidote to the madness of the world we live in at the moment and another quality job. Excellent.
You live on the best street ever. Always lots of interesting people walking by. Oh, and nice save on that table. It would make a nice wedding gift.
Sure brings back memories. Lane made various styles of tables with the same general lines. My parents had two end tables and a cocktail table. The end tables were different - no second level but with a single drawer. The cocktail table looked the same as your finished table, only longer, to put in front of the couch.
Takes a tiny little piece of veneer that I could put in my eye and not notice it. I appreciate this kind of stuff - my grandfather (1897-1974) was a precision engineer.
Beautiful as always 💕
Strange thing, I’ve lived in the country so long I almost forgot that most people live in neighborhoods with…you know….neighbors. 😜
I have learned so much from your videos and your voice is so soothing. Thanks.
Dad shoes looking good!
Glad to see I'm not the only one who uses the spray paint can lid to hold paint.
Something about your voice is just soothing
Wow, this vid has all the tricks!
You did a great job to cover up those patches!! The table came out beautiful!!!!! Love your work!!
Very nice work, I like it and I think many more did this too even if they did not give you a thumbs up.
One thing is for sure, I appreciate this furniture from the 60's so just keep going, look for more projects like this. 👍
A tip! Furniture manufacturers apply two glossy layers and finally a thin layer of matt lacquer. That way, it becomes a depth in the lacquer almost like an extra dimension. Thanks
Carsten Sweden
Photo bombed by a wedding! Great segment, I’ve learned a lot about veneer repair with this one.
Wow lovely as always 😱😘😘😘best wishes from the uk
Impressionante como a camuflagem da massa epóxi na perna da mesa com goma-laca e corante ficou bem. Um trabalho de artista. Parabéns!
Love the chewed leg fix and veneer patches, so instructive!! Thanks
Thanks! I always learn something new from your projects. Great veneer work. Wetting them down to assist in section along with the tracing for size and shape are top notch. Appreciate you sharing.
Nice restoration as always :)
And congratulations to the happy couple :)
You have so much patience. And as always a beautiful piece of furniture 👍
It was funny at the end of your video they were all hooping and hollering across the street oh great timing
We had 2 or 3 Lane tables just like this one in the 60s when I was a child. I would turn a table upside down and ride it across the slate floor. Fun times! No supervision.
Your videos are great! Wonderful wood working and for me easy to understand as a foreigner caus I am from germany.
Love the table, and love the wedding in the background....at the end.
A sweet table, although an interesting piece for a bank. I would have guessed circa: 40’s -50’s. And a stain to look like maple. Nice job. Carol from California
Lane...the cedar chest company. i did buy a recliner made by Lane years ago, and it sucked! but their wooden products are nice. in fact, i got my daughter a Lane cedar chest for her 16th birthday back in 1990. P.S. another great job. you are truly a gifted artist!
Exceptional, as always...thank you for sharing. I greatly admire your attention to detail
Beautiful work, lots of great tips, thank you....Here comes Mr. & Mrs....
I thought ppl were cheering for your finished wrk…then I saw ppl throwing rice and then the bride and groom lol. Good timing tho 😂 Beautiful once again.
Gorgeous! And watching you touch up the repairs on top was mesmerising! I couldn't believe how they just disappeared!
Hey, that's Lane Tuxedo! I'm working on a pair of stepped side tables from that line right now. Those upper shelves are an absolute beasts to remove. I tried to get them off on mine to make refinishing easier, but I wouldn't have been able to do it without ripping some veneer off.
Yea another video from my favorite show. The expertise, tge detail, the soothing voice. Heavenly.
I have the matching coffee table to this! Awesome work!
Great videos, your a magician with the cover ups and fixes.
Dude...your hands are magic.❤
I'm impressed by your patience to cut out the veneer but I was wondering why you don't just fill it with wood filler. Love you videos and soothing voice!
Wow! Great job, as always.
I'm watching all your videos to gain the courage to tackle the kitchen table. I'm guessing I'm not alone in this sort of motivation. Keep posting... I'll get there!
My Dad worked at Lane in the 60s as a designer for case goods....this may have been one of his. WooHoo. Glad you are giving it new life.
I enjoy every second of your videos, thank you.
