    This was both an homage to Star Wars and Astro Boy (The designs, the Old man mentor, etc) So it really nailed that mesh of those

    In Japanese, T0-B1 is voiced by Masako Nozawa, so yes, Goku is in Star Wars now.

    I like the idea that this is just how droids perceived the world. They don't see eachother or themselves as machines but rather living beings in the form of machines.

    When I watched this myself I didn't realize the professor didn't have arms till he used the force. I was like wow this one was really cute but then it turned super dark.

    Kyle and Bendu, great, unique reaction, as usual. Here's my (canonical) take on this story (one of my favorites in the anthology):
    1. TO-B1 = Tobi, a real, 11-year-old human Padawan, living during the time of The Skywalker Saga.
    2. Professor Mitaka = Jedi Master Mitaka, who focused his studies on The Sciences, and is the one in charge of Tobi's Jedi training, within The Jedi Order.
    3. During The Clone Wars and Order 66, Master Mitaka lost one, then, the other, of his arms.
    4. Tobi was nearly killed during Order 66, and, through his terrible grief and strong knowledge in the Natural and Technical Sciences (esp. inc. insights in to forbidden stories about the planet Orax, and the discoveries and experiments made by long-ago ex-communicated Jedi Master Aqinos), Master Mitaka created a cybernetic suit to encase the living remains of his fallen Padawan. The Kyber crystal has been placed in his matrix.
    5.The planet the 2 are living on, was once beautiful and filled with life...but, after The Clone Wars, had been devastated. Master Mitaka saw it happen.
    6. The reason why CO3 is so important to both Professor/Jedi Master Mitaka and TO-B1/Tobi, is because CO3 is actually a member of the Force-sensitive Shard crystal species, and basically an Iron Knight. That's why Mitaka leaves TO-B1 in the care of CO3, when he faces his fate with The Inquisitor. That's also the reason why Tobi is able to win the duel vs.The Inquisitor, since CO3 is a centuries-old Shard, and has known about (and wielded) The Force for decades...Tobi's natural Force abilities and cybernetic enhancements, along w/ the Shard's long-standing Force and droid powers, made them fight w/ the power of 2 Force-users.
    I totally want to see these 2 characters depicted in canon SW content, in both Animated and Live Action.

      You got a few things right. According to the art of visions, Tobi was Mitaka’s padawan, but he was killed during Order 66. However, through methods unknown, Mitaka managed to encase Tobi’s soul into a kyber crystal that he then installed into a droid. That is why T0-B1 has dreams of being a jedi, because those were visions of his past life.

  • @Wilahelm2
    @Wilahelm2 Před 2 lety +3

    My head canon is that TO-B1 is actually a cyborg but forgot that he used to be human. He was a human padawan and his dreams are actually his memories from when he was fully human. Something happened(probably during Order 66) and he was very badly injured so his master, Mitaka, was forced to replace most of his body with robotic or cybernetic parts to save him. This makes Tobi/TO-B1 variation of Vader, more machine then man but still a Jedi and aligned to the light side.

  • @M0M0117
    @M0M0117 Před 2 lety +1

    It’s implied that Tob1 is his fellow Palawan that fell in battle but was kept alive by the professors cybernetic expertise. So he’s not a 100% robot in my opinion, just some kind of perfect mix.

  • @Kia044

    Loved that instead of joining the resistance and choosing the path of violence Tobi had decided to continue his father's other legacy and go off to terraform more planets. Such an unusual but worthy decision.

  • @dungeonmaster16
    @dungeonmaster16 Před 2 lety +2

    also hoping they do expand on a droid becoming a force user since the rules of the force is along lines of "any living being can reach out and use the force if willing." and on the word living does it have to be organic or sentient? most droids are sentient and have free will of their own so couldnt they access the force?

  • @jameswg13
    @jameswg13 Před 2 lety +6

    My theory is T0-B1 was the Master's padawan or mind of his padawan put into a droid but lost all his memories.

    5:35 not sure if noticed but the jedi scientist have no arms or he cant use them. the entire time he moves around the place without moving them and have robots to help do stuff. when tobi sent out the signal he used the force to move things around and hide tobi in that secret spot.
    hence why he gave the saber to tobi and use the crystal to power him cause literally its useless to him since he cant hold and fight with it.

    The Inquisitor reminds me of Baron Karza who in turn was inspired by Darth Vader. I love how the east and west bounce our genres back and forth at each other resulting in even more awesome stuff.

    I think this is my favorite. It is a little foggy if he is a real Jedi, but if you are willing and able to do everything a Jedi does despite not having a direct connection to the force, why could you not be one? Regardless I think that this would be amazing Canon.

    • @peterslavik1449
      @peterslavik1449 Před 2 lety

      @@7svn. but the question I propose is if a Jedis only objective is to maintain balance, is having the force even a prerequisite? Like Tobi is outperforming Kanan here.

    • @peterslavik1449
      @peterslavik1449 Před 2 lety

      @@7svn. I personally think it is more than that. Kanan was never fully trained, nor was Cal Kestis who were both knighted beyond the veil of the force by Masters long dead, one of which was a Sith aligned Inquisitor and not even a Jedi. Also Tobi arguably was knighted in the exact same way as both. Same with Mace Windu who I wouldn't be surprised if all these Jedi share a lineage with... specially if you examine Tobi's Saber.
