Yes the reaction is here and also good to see the table
The duel has a audio book available on pre order on audible
The Samurai guy was infact the first sith, he left what was the early jedi's because he did not like their rules and wanted freedom, other jedi left with him under his leader ship, somehow bad blood started between jedi and his sith starting a war which he didn't want. also seeing what sith had become made him angry, so he turned his back on sith and decided to try destroy what it became and hunt down and kill all the other sith that came after him.
Fun fact about the eponymous Ronin, in this AU, dude was the founder of the Sith, who grew to become sickened at the cruelty and barbarism of the Sith, when all he wanted was freedom. Now he goes around hunting and collecting the crystals of his former comrades. Also his scabbard, made of lightsaber hilts, is because his saber is damaged and can't be turned off.
There's a novel coming up that continues the story called Ronin: A Visions Novel. It comes out October 12. This episode and story is set in an alternate reality so to speak that draws from Japanese lore. Here, the Jedi are the most loyal servants of the Empire. Twenty years before the episode, Jedi clans clashed in service of feuding lords. Sickened by this, some Jedi rebelled in order control their own destiny and claim power and answering to no master. They became the Sith. But the rebellion failed and the Sith were more or less wiped out, and the once rival lords united to form the Empire. As you guessed, the Ronin is a former Sith whose past and name are unknown.
Didn’t ronin start the sith, or am I going crazy?
@@cagesparks6533 no, you're right, he did. I just didn't want to spoil anything for those who want to read it, that's all. Because this episode doesn't mention that detail at all.
Ronin is actually cannon and Ronin is the first ever sith lord the duel and elder are the only cannon episodes
I know that they are going to dive deeper into who the Ronin is in the book that they're releasing in October, called "Ronin: A Star Wars Visions Novel" and it will follow him.
This was probably one my favorite of the Visions. It certainly felt like a Star Wars universe retelling of a duel by a samurai great like Myamoto Mushashi.
I need 4 seasons of just this character.
I love how this follows the classic Ronin story, but he somehow walked into a seven samurai story.
This was the short I was actually most looking forward to, not only because it's such a gorgeous homage to Kurosawa, but one of my favorite Japanese composers (Keiji Inai) did the score (and he did it BEAUTIFULLY).
Great reaction! You picked up on so much that others missed - the ATAT, the gonk stove, the poster. Can't wait to see your reactions to the rest of the series
They're also the first reactors I've watched who recognized that the former village chief was dead with his corpse laid out prior to burial. Everyone else commented about him being asleep or sick.
The moment we all felt in our hearts, when the Tusken Raider got decimated.
Poor guy. Felt bad for all of the town's security force. Only one was spared.
I don't think he's a sith, but a gray or dark jedi. I suspect he was once a Jedi, but with all the misery he has experienced in the galaxy, he no longer feels a part of the light side.
He's a former sith. This is an alternate timeline where Jedi are loyalto the empire, and the sith were a faction of Jedi that plot from their masters to forge their own destinies. But their rebellion was essentially destroyed. This Robin was a former sith that now wanders the outer rim
There are no grey jedi.
It is not a thing. This was settled years ago.
My theory is that his whole purpose for visiting that village was to hunt her.
05:13 Definitely were some "Duel of the Fates" vibes going on there in the log fight.
I thought the same about the log stopping there at the waterfall, but she used the force to stop it....
Exactly correct!
4:25 kyle is literally drooling over this
If people are interested in the Ronin from this episode there is a new Novel out that goes into more detail.
Where can I find it?
Easily my favorite of the series. (I'm not an anime fan, so I didn't really enjoy a lot of the others) but THIS was an episode I NEED more of. I could easily watch a series about the travels of this mystery collector
What about the Ninth Jedi? That one was great.
i cant wait to see more of your reactions to Visions, keep staying awesome
My favorite episode of the bunch. It's really cool. I would love to see a whole show just about a Sith who hunts other Sith.
This one was easily top 3 of the season, and my favorite art style for sure. So many cool shots and scenes. The fight on the log in the water mirrored Anakin and Obi Wan in a really cool way. Red sabers vs blue and green, fire vs water. And him using that statue as a decoy was just fantastic. (That's a decoy Lois, A DECOY!!!! - popped into my head) With this one I really got the feeling the people involved went all out on this project, which I didn't get with all of them.
They’re wearing Imperial and First order helmets if you look a lil closer.
She’s using the force to hold the log in place 6:13
I’ve been waiting too long for this reaction!! A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one
I've been waiting on you 2 to react on these. Your detail and excitement makes it far more interesting and I'm already lit! I won't say which are my favorites but waiting nearly 2 months for each weeks reaction is gonna be tough.
i was waiting for y'all to jump on this.
I like how the guy on the left is just smiling enjoying it
First time watching this I noticed the colors, I believe they are all lightsaber colors. Blue, green, yellow, orange, purple, and light blue. I also thought in his droid when it was shorting out a more noticeable white and black but not sure.
Always love the reviews gets me even more hyped for this great episode!
When I first saw this episode it kind of reminds me of an anime called Afro samurai.
Excellent lads. Excellent.
Helo there.
(Honestly of all the stories shown in trailers this is the one episode i awaited most, due to art style of course)
My man out here collecting kyber crystals like they're pokemon gym badges
04:03 ohh I didn't catch that that was a splitter! Good call.
There's a graphic novel coming out next month about the main character
The ronin may be a Sith hunter. He killed a Sith, and utilizes their weapon for himself. He collects the red kyber crystals of his slain...Hmm😏
YESSSS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
these two are legit fans
Soooooooo good!!!
Oh man I was waiting for these reactions! Get to the ninth jedi already! And the elder! and the twins! Such great SW content!
I came into this thinking meh, it's not for me... I'll watch it because its star wars but I'm not expecting much. My god was I into this by the end! The whole season was a mixed bag but definitely enjoyable. I'd like to see some of these stories continued like marvel's what if is doing
Wtf did it take over 40 years to get this match made in Heaven?
You guys are the best Star Wars reactors, can’t wait till you get to episode seven you’re gonna love it
Did you know?
Brian Tee (Tokyo Drift, The Wolverine) voiced the Ronin & Lucy Liu (Charlie’s Angles, Kill Bill) voiced the Bandit Leader 👍🏻
We meet again at last ...
Awesome reaction sir
Best channel for Star Wars content
Can’t wait to see your reaction to episodes 3 and 4
they are coming out with a visual novel coming oct 12th I AM SO HYPED
by far the best episode, this episode growing on me.
I had been waiting for this reaction since Visions was released.
The reactions that matter!
And now Visions Volume 2 is here!
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!!!
yes so happy you guys are doing this
hahaha " why can i read that? i dont know japanese!" lololol
Yes bruvs
i find this story was a good one due to the likely backstory our "hero" was definitely raised under sith rule, but has gone hunting for sith
Thanks, Kyle! Thanks, Bendu! Thanks, Nerd Chronic! 🌟
The way he unsheathed his lightsaber....im hard. 😅😂
This was simultaneously the most Japanese and Star Wars show at the same time. This could be a show.
The only thing I would have channged was the kid holding the Kyber crystal at the end opens is fist and the Kyber has changed to glowing blue, not red.
I'm pretty sure that these were the same guys who worked on the anime for Sound and Fury by Sturgill Simpson.
The reason why Ronin collect other Sith kyber crystals is that they don’t harm everybody.
Thanks!
Wow, thank YOU! 😊
My theory is, he could have ties to the Jedi, meaning he's a former knight or Padawan. The kyber crystals are from battles with inquisitors. And he hasn't managed to heal them from the bleeding. His light sabre might be red simply because he either lost or destroyed his original. It would be kind of interesting to see a Ronin like former Jedi, wondering the galaxy trying to hide. But his sense of honour, duty bounds him to help.
Cool but the Duel takes place in a completely different universe to the main continuity.
Luke Price true, but you could still use aspects from continuity. For example, his master/shogun was replaced by another, who is a tyrant. And is using the equivalent of Sith/Inquisitors to maintain control. And possibly hunt down those who didn't swear fealty to their rule. Keep the aspect of bleeding for the Kyber Crystal, as it is a nice nod to set continuity. And is almost a standard for honour. When it comes to his sabre, he may have still destroyed it out of shame, or had it taken from him as punishment.
While this backstory is basically just the aftermath of the prequels. If you make slight adjustments to terms and politics, it just becomes Star Wars set in a universe similar to feudal Japan. The Jedi where Samurai, whose masters where members of the republic. And under this new rule, some swore to a new master. Others, where either killed or are now in hiding. And isn't that what we kind of want to see. Take all the aspects of Star Wars, but set them in a Kurosawa film.
A sith hunter, baddass
That was nuts. Which site are they on?
You guys gotta watch the Japanese version. Gotta give them the love they deserve. Not to say the English Dub wasn't good.
Come on! you must watch it in japanese!
Why do I want to play as a Jedi samurai now
Is it just me or did that crystal change colour as soon as it touched the child? I swear it changed green
since you are the only person to know the title wasn't Japanese (including me, so no shame) can you tell me if the female Sith is any species within Star Wars?
and you're right about the style... i swear the scene when the Ronin walks away with the rest house behind him to fight the Sith woman was a strip of old 40s film they put in the episode, like not drawn like it, but actual film
and the crystals are red.... did the crystal bleed? was it artificial? or was it a natural red crystal? any guesses... mine is that's it's a natural, organic red crystal that is always red (no bleeding or anything)
Yayyyyy there dem boyz
Yess, I've beein waiting for your reaction! I admit I expected the Japanese dub, though.
The novel for this episode is coming out in December I think.
Came out Wednesday the 13th of October
“It wards off evil” it’s a cool line but I feel like it would do the opposite and a sith would come for that😂
BOOK OF BOBA FETT COMES OUT DECEMBER 29
Why does no one mention that the statue of the god was of George Lucas???
I think ronin is not a Jedi either sith he just good at lightsaber combat.
Wait, so is this full length or not?
lol whoops! Fixed the title. Nope, those are patreon exclusive.
@@KyleKatarnChannel And a proud patreon member I am!
The Dual was the only film out of Visions I liked . Others felt like cheap Anime .
