      Dont know if u guys saw my comment or now but I feel like you guys would appreciate this but during the Master's fight his stances are modeled almost exactly like the Obi-Wan vs Darth Maul Rebels fight. His first stance is Obi Wan's then he switches to Qui Gon's stance and thats when the Sith flinches and the momentum shifts towards the Master at that moment.

    From ridiculously bombastic battle between Twins to a grounded duel between old masters, the Studio Trigger knows what their doing.
    Elder was definitely my favorite due to the mystery surrounding the dark force user, and of course the Duel itself being incredibly well choreographed displaying so much while showing so little.

    Even though this episode is very simple in concept its one of my favourites because of the lessons and choreography woven into it. David Harbour did an amazing job getting across the serenity and authority of a jedi master.

    6:23 - I believe that this is the only time Tràkata was really seen in action.

    Ironically the article also states that the form was created by a Jedi Consular during the time of the Old Republic to compensate for weaknesses with using a lightsaber.

       @Moldomre
      I am not sure if it fits the description.🤔 It is a similar situation to the Swtor cinematic "Betrayed". (for the sake of not spoiling the experience for anyone who has not seen it, I will not elaborate further😉) Kylo used the lightsaber more like a “stabbing” weapon - I don’t know it is kind of a weird situation, but thank you for pointing it out.🙂
       @Reality

      According to Wookieepedia, both Jedi and Sith had their problems with the form. Jedi didn’t like it, because it relayed on deception and the Sith didn’t use it because “…their power came from passion rather than practicality...” (Source: Wookieepedia/ Tràkata).
      If you want to know more, I can recommend you two videos which go into more depth on the topic.🙂😉

      I read that this episode was supposed to be inspired by a kind of what-if of what if Qui-Gon had not died and instead taken on Anakin as his student. This master and his student are what they thought Qui-Gon and Anakin would have been like. And i think it fits pretty well.

    I remember stating in the last Trigger episode that the Twins was anime Star Wars, as in the excesses of Anime within Star Wars. This was pique Star Wars anime. And I am genuinely shocked it took SO LONG to blend the intrinsic mysticism of the Star Wars Universe and the storytelling of Japan. @@eddyguey5895 I don't remember it being considered "sly" or "devious." I seem to remember it was because turning a saber on and off during a fight was considered dangerous, as you were essentially disarming yourself for a second (or more).

  • @bryannkam
    @bryannkam Před rokem +1

    While I did like the short, I kinda wished the ending was different. Like have the Elder kill the Padawan and have the master kill the Elder like in the short, but have the ending be that the master had fallen to the dark side because the struck down the Elder in revenge and anger.
    Thus retroactively revealing that the Elder (now old and well past his prime) did all of this to lure out a potential candidate to corrupt so the Sith could endure. Kinda like how in some interpretations, vampires suffer from a form of dementia and become more feral and animalistic as they grow older. And as a result, they are become only driven by the base need and instinct to fed, survive, and continue they’re (of lack of a better term in this situation) species by way of infecting another.
