In today's video, I share one of my new off-road recovery essentials for my Tacoma. I love this Pro Eagle jack because it's specifically made to be for off road. I figure it's better to be safe than sorry, so I'm glad I got this for the truck.
Pro Eagle really made it clear to me that "bigger isn't necessarily better" and that for a Tacoma, the 1.5 ton jack suffices.

thanks so much, really wanted to see a vid like this of someone handling the jack right out of the box and putting to use, very undecided if I wanted to invest in one with a view to packing and traveling with because of the size, also on the fence between 1.5 and 2t but seeing you effortlessly lift the tacoma makes me pretty confident the 1.5 will suffice and also not as bulky as I feared .
Great review and video Chloe! One thing I might recommend is if you are keeping the jack in your truck for potential offroad recovery, you may want to also keep the c-clip pliers that it came with & some spare c-clips on hand (theyre easy to lose). You may encounter unsteady ground that isnt ideal for the jack to be sitting on its wheels when performing an off-road repair/recovery, and may want to utilize the flat "skid plate" bottom of the jack (a flat piece of board/plate to distribute the weight might be handy too). Having the c-clip pliers and some spare clips (incase you misplace one or three) will be an easy lifesaver, and a good thing to add to an in-truck recovery kit or tool kit.
p.s. as others have mentioned, I couldnt tell if your driveway is sloped, but Wheel-chocks or something to chock the wheel might be a good idea for next time.

Great vid... I take a bottle jack with me when I off road and bring a square piece of ply wood for a base. It works perfect. Oh and a shovel is an essential
Everytime you safely jack up a vehicle is to install chucks in front and back of the stationary tire !

i like the extension. i use a harbor freight racing jack on a custom skid for offroad and what not.. i dont offroad much but its been a great thing to have in my tundra to fix flats and what not for others. (and farm equipment stuff). Onboard air is my next thing for my tundra. my poor taco doesnt see the road let alone offroad till its Resto is done lol

I saw you re review few mounts ago, and now I make my choice to take off my Hi Lift Jack, and use This one the 1.5 ton Pro Eagle Jack... ( I have the same truck, and same color than you re) . Definitely need to get that I hate using the jack that come with the truck I've had it slip on me before while changing a tire on the side of the road. It looks like would fit under the seat of the Tacoma too which is nice.
I need to pick one of these up actually since the old jack I had from my car is too small now for the Taco haha!!
Whatâs a readonable priced alternative for this? The 1.5T is nearly $500. I keep a Hi-Lift in the back for trails but Iâm looking for something a bit more stable for at-home use. My old 2T doesnât have the height I need with oversized tires and 3-4â suspension lift.

Sold here too! I no lie literally got a flat on my new 2020 Tacoma running over large screw and the stock Jack was worthless! I felt like I almost dislocated my shoulder trying to lift the truck so to barely put the spare tire on.

Carrying tire plugs and a Compressor in the truck would solve the problem
@@Mark32500 hole was too big. I ran over a huge bolt/ screw that they use for oil pipes going over 60mph. Even my mud flap broke off.
Just as an extra precautionary step, add a rubber wheel chock especially if your lifting it on an uneven surface. Very informative video. đ€đŒ

Why did you not use the 15" extension? Will it not fit. I can't decide on the 8 or 15 " extension. My jeep gladiator is on 35s but not lifted.

Nice truck, I got a $100 jack from Costco, it works pretty well for my LX470 I just use it to rotate the tires and change the brakes, â ïžplease get some expansive quality jack stands & for redundancy place the tire under the frame too! Nice truck đ I ways love the look of Taco just a bit too small for me couldnât stretch my legs far enough, have fun!

I have a low profile jack made of aluminum which can jack up to 3 ton for 300 buck from northern tools weights like 15 lbs only
I'm not sold on that jack. As you have to beable to get to the jack points. If your stuck that might not be possible. Which is why I've been thinking about sliders and farm jack adapter.
Don't forget jack stands whenever you are underneath your truck. Also, keep in mind that as you mod your truck with bumpers, bigger wheels/tires, skid plates, you'll be adding more and more weight. Nice truck! Keep up the great work!

Hi Chole, I am looking for a Tacoma TRD Off-road. If you do not mind, can you provide a run-down on your TRD off road configuration (like 4x4? cloth seat, any add-on optional packages, etc?
Sure! Mine is a 2019 3.5L V6 4x4 TRD Off-Road in silver sky metallic. It came equipped from the factory with the tech package (blind spot monitors, parking sensors) and had BFGoodrich KO2 tires, 4Runner TRD Pro wheels, a TRD Pro Skid Plate, NFab round tube steps, all weather floor mats, door sill protectors, chrome tailgate badging and a chrome exhaust tip added to it at the dealership level. I donât have a comprehensive list of everything Iâve added on to it but Iâve pretty much documented my build completely on this channel. Hope this helps and good luck in your search for a Tacoma!

Good video Iâve heard people complain about these jacks I donât know why it looks like a good jack. Anybody have some input Chloe I just subscribed to your channel keep the videos going.
Really is a nice Jack or itâs better used in your garage there referral far better options for off-roading . There are bottle jacks more than capable of lifting your truck they will be smaller lighter more compact and easier to get under your truck in awkward trail positions would also take up less space in your off-road recovery kit. There is an exhaust jack not exactly my favourite but it is easy to get under the truck no matter what situation youâre in. There is the ARB hydraulic jack This is a good Jack as it does require a lot of muscle to lift your vehicle and can also be used to take your tires off your rims offering a second function to the Jack. However the highlift Jack is probably the most common out of all Jackâs for off-road use this Jack requires respect in its application as it can be dangerous to use. However it is more than a jack it really is a multi tool I am for this reason is why it ends in most peoples recovery kit. It can be used in some bumpers that have highlift Jack points it can also be fastened to your rock sliders you can buy tools to add to it where you can connected to your wheels and lift the wheel straight up putting traction boards under without having to dig them in. God for bid if a vehicle rolled over and you had to open a door Iâll push steering wheel back off of somebody this can be used has a spreader to push back the metal. It also works as a winch even though people have a winch on their vehicle this is a winch that doesnât require any form of power other than the power in your body so it works good as a back up. You can also fasten the chain to it and use it as a drag device to pull obstacles out of the road like falling trees or large rocks. This is why the highlift Jack is mostly used by off-roadâs because it serves a multitude of functions. It just requires a little bit of knowledge practice and common sense when using it. I have seen a great many people use it on there rock sliders without the connection piece to make it safer now you can do this but thereâs a chance to Jack will kick in and possibly damage your door panel or smash your window. To avoid this from happening I would recommend before jacking up you want in your door this way if the jack is the kick it will fall into the empty space of your truck doing next to no damage little tips like this when using these off road recovery gear is smart to learn it will save you money and possibly and more importantly an injury. We all like to go out and play but thereâs no reason why we shouldnât make it home with all our fingers and toes.

My truck didn't come with the standard jack, so I had to buy a replacement. I went with a bottle jack that came with two jack stands. The bottle jack fits perfectly in the cubby of the truck bed đ
Quick question! Since you have the jack on hand. My tacoma is lifted about 3 inches front and rear. Would the 8 inch extension work or should i just get the 15 inch version just to be safe?

Thanks! I have the OEM Tacoma bed mat (rubber material) so that things don't slide around. Without it, stuff definitely slides around with just the composite bed lol.

I have a 2.5 lift and 32 tires which is alitte more weight than you have on your taco. Also have alot of gear in the back of my taco. Do think the 1.5 ton will still work for me?
It depends- you probably will only lift one corner at a time, instead of the whole or half of the truck at a time, so if the jack can comfortably support that weight, then you should be fine. If youâre worried about height, they have a jack extension you can easily add on đ

Chalk tires? Backup stand incase your jack fails! You may not always be on a flat surface. Be safe.
What kind of running board/step is that?
Nerf round step bars, although I don't recommend them because I've had them on for a year and there's a lot of surface rust. Will probably rip them off and get sliders!

Back on this video, stock suspension. Now, fox 2.5 in front and rear, with the front coils adjusted to level out the truck
