He died almost a week before an epic match between Olympics and Kotoko in the semis of CAF Clubs championship. Despite being an Olympics fan I shed tears when his death was announced at 14h00 on radio. During the days leading to the game, Sir Cecil Jones appeared on the front page of one the leading Sports newspapers with the caption "Kotoko will see" and believe you me he dribbled from the middle of the park and scored the first goal. What a match! ...Respect, Black Rasta.

What Rev. Osei Kofi is saying about Robert Mensah is very true.
I came in contact with the late Robert Mensah when the late Ohene Gyan dissolved the Black Stars and formed the Southern Sector and Northern Sector of the Black Stars.
It was there l got in contact with him at the Northern Sector and we were camped at KNUST and believe me this man would never train as a Goalkeeper he would play with us as players until the Coach Ben Koufie would to be in our respective positions then he would go to the post as Goalkeeper.
Rev. Osei Kofi and Ibrahim Sunday were very close friend indeed.

Robert mensah goal keeper number .its great to watch this and finally see kofi Anto.we use to sing that song growing up .he was murdered in tema community 7 whiles trying to seperate a fight. Legend have it that he saved a goal when ghana played india in the legendary 1-100.That famous save he made ,the ball turn into coal pot. his coffin was placed in the goal post during a match before his burrial.the coffin still made crucial saves that day .the lengend still lives on even till this day. What a great soccer icon that needs to be immortalized.
