I still have a couple of George Carlin's LP's in my collection from the early 1970's; I saw his first appearance on the Ed Sullivan show. Over the end of the 20th and beginning of the 21st centuries, we have seen some very gifted humorists. But I've yet to see anybody as fast, intelligent, creative, thought-provoking and consistently educational as this gentleman. Absolutely one of a kind!
Yeah, humans with brains like his fascinates me. They have the ability to process information differently. I suppose you're just born with it. These humans come in all races and sexes they're beyond fascinating.
I was lucky enough to see him in 1982 when he was on tour to promote his album "A Place for My Stuff" . I still own that album as well as his debut album "Class Clown" (a classic). Yes albums on vinyl. 😅
I live in Karachi, which is in Pakistan. I remember watching American standups and Comedy skits since I was 10 years old and i've been watching American standups, skits and comedy artists since then, for me George carlin has been my most favourite, his observations and views on society and human behaviour are exemplary they are relatable even here in Pakistan, and he is an artist with values and views and was not afraid to say them out loud in a funny way.I always asked my self if I were to be a comedian what kind of a comedian I would be?I would want to be as funny, smart, quick and thought provoking as George

Comedy isn't mutually exclusive with sincere social criticism. IMO the greatest comedy is usually simultaneously both. This absolutely is comedy
There are 'comedians' whom I really like to hear talk, Carlin is one of them. He did comedy in it's purest form. I just hoped people would not be so fucking blind to the information available nowadays. So much stuff available and yet most of us learn from the shittiest stuff. Instead of watching news I'd rather watch this, old school music, other type of information channels, mostly related to philosophy, life and nature/animals, and the feeling is hard to explain: you kinda feel more at peace with yourself and feel better, while most look at you crazy for being different. If you feel you got the 'intelligence' and determination for it, search for knowledge. Being open minded and searching for your own path and knowledge is against most of today's societies.

the camcorder had me in tears because I can only imagine what he would say about smartphones and snapchat
hi
Smartphones at least serve a purpose beyond just recording. I could definitely see him complaining about the pervasiveness of modern technology but I doubt he'd put smartphones on the same level as fucking camcorders. I don't know how he'd feel about Snapchat. On the one hand the pic disappears after you view it so it's very in-the-moment, and it's primarily used for sexting so I doubt he'd have a problem with that. On the other hand, it sort of adds to the shortening attention span of modern times. I think he'd be more likely to make fun of Instagram, which has essentially become the new way of taking pictures of anything and everything.
do you even have any idea how old you sound? '...since it's primarily used for sexting' do you enjoy just perpetuating false bullshit that you have no idea about? that's like the rumor-mill tagline parents used about it when it was still in its infancy stage 4 years ago.

Almost like we aren’t special and every generation places blame on the two generations before it. Do the best they can and then eventually they will be the generation being told they didn’t do enough. Especially since every generation has had better medical advancements than the ones before it causing them to stay in the workforce longer. As we begin to live longer we also work longer careers, so people aren’t retiring and “getting out of the way “ for the generation below them to ascend as high as they did until later in their respective careers. It’s happened long enough now for where there’s natural order of when people enter and leave the workforce has skipped a beat and there is a log jam at the top.

Camcorder??!!! Imagine what he'd say today with cell phones 😂
Brilliant, timely as ever.
I wonder what he would say about social media today if he was still alive. Grew up watching this guy. What a legend.
Pretty much he said it right here. This is how you know you’re watching timeless comedy. It still applies.
6:05 there you have it
We would never know, George would have been the first guy they kicked off Twitter and YT ...
I wonder what he would say about all these dorks with selfie sticks. People fly half way around on vacation and all they photograph is themselves!
he already said it. those fucking guys with camcorders skipping life. that shit is still happening but worse. He'd make fun of it the same way everyone else does...bunch of pussies too lazy to live their own lives so sit where the cheetos are close and pretend to have them on their computer.
If there was anyone I wish was alive today..
So much to talk about!
Same Bro
but if he was alive today he would fucking hat it
In English please Czeslew.
I miss him to death too. He said everything no one wanted to actually say, he's a goddamn hero.
I am not joking, i just found out about this legend a couple days ago and he has the exact same personality and thoughts and views as mine . I'm not alone🗿👍🏻
I want a t-shirt that says "I believe in George Carlin".
I'm watching this 26 years later and love his relevance. Just to show you how timeless this stuff is.
@Dave Bieleveld Plato warned of it being there (potentially) thirty thousand years ago. Yet everyday we're told it's news.
@@fernandoferreira6293 Thirty thousand years ago? No. Roughly 2,500 years ago, yes. 30,000 is way off.
@@fernandoferreira629328,500 years off pal we didn't even have the notion of civilization 30k years ago lol.
Same. 🤔
I don't like it because 26 years and we STILL are having the same fuckin problems. No one learned from this man and applied it to make this country good, and we have the corruption in the open and NO charges or justice. Just the same dumb people he wasted his breath about. He was right, people fuckin suck.
carlin's ghost for president.
C’mon man, you know his ass ascended off this piece of space trash as SOON as that heart attack ended! No way in hell he would stay here.
@@damiangiese-jeanson8874 i'm sure we could get by just by referencing recordings of his material. like WWJD, but instead it's "what did carlin say?"
Charles Li Carlin probably ended up voting for Biden .
@@ottosump3356Idk if you watched some of his material, but he has said that he doesn’t believe in voting and that it is a trick to make the public feel like they have some control.
Damian Giese-Jeanson Sorry it was a joke , Carlin died and most of Bidens votes were from the dead .
George Carlin really just founded the concept of "ok boomer" in the best way possible
Not just a comedian. Not just a philosopher. The dude was a freaking poet. His utter mastery of the the English language was simply jaw-dropping. Sheer verbal artistry. What a giant talent he had.
The older George got the angrier and funnier George got!
Ruben Delgadillo just seen a clip on Carson from the 80s forwarded to this clip now wow he is a savage
That because the older you get the more you see things for what they really are!!!
How hold was he on this video?
@@tintank8620 He was about 59 here.
Yeah he was so mellow and chill in the 70s and 80s, he was angry at this time, and near the end of his life he just complained about everything.
2021 and everything he's saying is relevant
yes and again yes
Oh hello there.
Absolutely!!!!
yes, fucc those 1 hour photo kiosks
bill maher has stolen so much of his material just this year
The greatest comedian EVER. Be something to hear what he'd have to say about what's going on today.🤟
Everyone says "George is ahead of his time." I tend to think, that the times haven't changed at all, he was just complaining about shit relevant to him at the time, and these things never changed.
Amen
Your right. And the sad thing that everybody knows (well not everybody). Is that it's worse
Yup. He's nailing down humanity to its core.
In fact its only getting worse
@@TessellationRow amen brother
"If you have selfish ignorant people, you will get selfish ignorant leaders." George Carlin 1996.
Four more years ,😂😂😁😁😀
@L Rodriguez right on mr. Rodriguez
Yup we have dishonest incompetent leader.
@@gustavogamboa4461 okay Gustavo vote for Joe Biden and see what that gets for you you are a sucker if you do that if you were actually illegal legal and you for Joe Biden and see how your well- earned money goes down the toilet and the country goes down the toilet with it then come back and say how happy you are that you voted upon the Democratic line don't be a sucker
I apologize my phone is freaking out on me and I can't use my keyboard there for some things get very distorted because I'm speaking them into the phone so I apologize the whole point I am making is that if you vote for Joe Biden you're going to get something that you really don't want to get be well and strive in life
We miss you George, you were the GOAT!! I'm greatfull that I was alive to experience your incredible genious! RIP my brother; See you on the other side. ❤
Aww way ahead of the rest. His time!!! Absolutely brilliant🙂😘Love George
The camcorder bit was WAAAAAY ahead of it's time!
John D
Yeah, the moment I heard, I thought "boy, he's lucky he's already dead"
yeah that aged real well
lol... no kidding
its*
He would have a field day with Instagram influencers. 🤣🤣🤣
The Baby Boomer part aged like fine wine
