How's this for LIBERAL HYPOCRISY, rube. Libshits are horrified at the thought of executing a serial killer but have no compunction whatsoever about murdering an totally innocent baby in the womb. Hypocrisy forms the very foundation upon which the libshit house of cards is built.

DrewPicklesTheDark that’s because Carlin was a genuine seeking of objective truth. He’s one of the best philosophers of the 20th century and the greatest comedian of all time.
@@pseudo_ra You realise he was a comedian who combined social commentary with comedic elements? I mean give credit where credit is due, his routines, comedic style and material is gold but he never professed to be a seeker of truth. His material combined elements of misanthropy, nihilism and human behaviour all veiled in a cynical perspective but if you think that is what passes off as non-armchair philosophy, the formal study of all that can be interpreted through human reasoning, you're doing a great disservice to all those who have and do engage in this academic profession. Armchair philosophy is the type where you can do at the comfort of your home and have discussions about issue without relating to the formal processes of philosophical inquiry such as logic, argumentation and methodic doubt. But I don't see anyone calling the people who engage in armchair science scientists. TL;DR George Carlin is a great comedian and social commentator. Don't elevate him to epic proportions to elevate your own self-esteem for understanding or agreeing with him. He hated hero-worship, was highly self-critical and changed his comedic style and content over years and got his insight from his own personal struggles. The search for truth starts from humility, transitions to self-deprecation and ends the same way it started.
Aneesh Ramaswamy ...Social commentary and comedic elements? Wow, I had no idea, thank you for clearing that up. Pretty “humbled” of you to go on this self aggrandizing rant about academic philosophy. Why would my self esteem be tied to George Carlin? Is your self esteem tied to any of the philosophers you’ve mentioned above? Don’t elevate academic philosophy to epic proportions to boost your self-esteem simply because you sat in a class room worshiping people you perceived to be smarter than you. You do realize that some philosophers are among the most loathsome, immoral and vice ridden people in history, right? For all their philosophical grandeur, some of them died as an unhappy and as unfulfilled as many a layman. Maybe I should amend my previous statement - Carlin was a great thinker - does that pleases the formal gentleman? I respect Carlin because he told the truth (albeit his truth), pointed out hypocrisy and the blatant contradictions of our times without fear. Your obvious projection of “hero-worship” is rather clear. Philosophy is one step in the evolutionary chain of a human being - don’t stop there my friend - it pales in comparison to spirituality. Thus, instead of taking what your great philosophers of the 20th century professed at face value, investigate life for yourself and live your truth. Religion (I believe), philosophy (I think) and spirituality (I know). That being said, happy new year and good luck. Be the change you want to see.
@@pseudo_ra I think you missed exactly what I was pissed about. Philosophy is one of the cornerstones of human inquiry and the grand body of work that constitutes current human knowledge in philosophy came from philosophers who devoted their lives to their discipline. Your view comes from ignorance not from careful observation of the material. If you read a book in any field of philosophy- then you can start comparing philosophers. Otherwise what you're doing is calling a popular science show host one of the best scientists without having knowledge of 'academic' science and what constitutes scientific research. Philosophy as science is something you can do from the comfort of your sofa if you ignore academic standards, doesn't make it as admissible material to collective knowledge though. I don't see how it's wrong to appreciate people for what their true worth is. I love George Carlin as a comedian and his comments on society are full of great insight, but that's all it is. I don't think him as a philosopher and those who I view as great philosophers need to have made great accomplishments in their area. Also what ever he says is based on his anecdotal experiences of society and his interpretations of them. A lot of us might agree with them but I don't think it's implausible to think that there are many people who don't share those experiences or live by a different standard. Is that unreasonable? Calling a spade a spade and appreciating the true worth of people? I have depression and am trying to be a theoretical physicist and I constantly feel self-deprecation and doubts when I compare myself to all others in my field who have made significant contributions near my age. But I think it's important to have those thoughts and know my true standing so I can grow. You can't climb a cliff if you don't know your current foothold and the next indent. This is what pisses me off. Humans like you who think they can somehow come to the answers by themselves and forego that millions of people over millennia have dedicated their lives towards solving the puzzle that is the human experience and physical reality. What do you think philosophers, psychologists, physicists, etc. are doing carrying out research publishing papers and following the academic process, genius? Are they just wasting their time? "Philosophy is the history of thought". How about you open a book or webpage, heck here's google dictionary's take: Philosophy : "the study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence, especially when considered as an academic discipline." And I have as much respect for spirituality as I have for astrology. Another attempt for human beings to inflate their self-esteem and elevate their standing in the cosmos. I'm not trying to elevate myself or anybody else. I seek to bring us all back to Earth and take a good look at who we really are. That said, your attempts at stating I'm projecting are ridiculous. I know I'm no Wittengstein, Einstein, etc. I don't think taking a number of classes at the undergrad or grad level will take me to their level, but I will try to develop my own worth as I continue my academic journey. George Carlin intended the work you saw as comedy. You stated that you thought it to be the work of a great philosopher/ Clearly someone's elevating the standard of his material and it ain't Carlin or me. Could it be you? Because you want to, like all humans that engage in tribalism (all of us pretty much), think you're privy to knowledge that's not attainable to the general public and think that it make you special. It's unfortunate that my irritation in this area was blown towards you and I apologize for that. But I still stand strong with my views.
Aneesh Ramaswamy ...Where to begin...First and foremost, you are still putting philosophy on a pedestal. I amended my statement earlier - “Carlin is a great thinker” - to please you and it clearly didn’t. If using “logic, argumentation and methodic doubt,” makes a person a philosopher - then Carlin clearly is. He has demonstrated this time and time again throughout his routines. In the most archaic definition of the word, a philosopher, is a lover of wisdom. Second, “I respect Carlin because he told the truth (albeit his truth), pointed out hypocrisy and the blatant contradictions of our times without fear.” Might I add, he also makes me laugh. How’s that not appreciating him for his true worth? Furthermore, “Also what ever he says is based on his anecdotal experiences of society and his interpretations of them.” Isn’t that true for all philosophers from time immemorial? Third, “Humans like you who think they can somehow come to the answers by themselves and forego that millions of people over millennia have dedicated their lives towards solving the puzzle that is the human experience and physical reality.” Didn’t anyone ever tell you to not make assumptions, in fact, isn’t it rather philosophically informal of you to make such a statement? I never said anything to that effect. In fact, I too am student of philosophy - I’ve studied the many schools of thought that has come down to us from said great philosophers over the ages - in the end I only found 3 disciplines that were useful in creating a better understanding of our world and subsequently creating better human beings which lead to a better society. Again, I never stated anyone was wasting their time. Quit making assumptions. Fourth, philosophy is the history of thought. Only when you’ve moved on to spirituality will you realize this. “I have as much respect for spirituality as I have for astrology,” how wise of you lol. You are still stuck in the “I think” phase of your personal evolution - you have such potential - it takes an earnest individual to self evolve. “Another attempt for human beings to inflate their self-esteem and elevate their standing in the cosmos,” the irony is strong here, are you a comedian? Fifth, “I seek to bring us all back to Earth and take a good look at who we really are. That said, your attempts at stating I'm projecting are ridiculous,” you don’t even know who/what you are friend, how are you going to tell the rest of humanity who they are? You’re above statement is utter projection and that’s okay, I empathize with you, I really do. Sixth, academia will not improve your self-worth, it might create an inauthentic sense of who you “think” you are and boost your ego, but when the time comes your ego will fail and you’ll be right back where you started. Sure, the certificates and the accolades might improve your social standings, but when you are alone none of that will matter. “I have depression and am trying to be a theoretical physicist and I constantly feel self-deprecation and doubts when I compare myself to all others in my field who have made significant contributions near my age.” Somehow, the great cornerstone of human inquiry hasn’t helped you overcome this, has it? Doesn’t that make you question the efficacy of philosophy? Doesn’t that make you ask what’s the point of philosophy? Seventh, “...You want to, like all humans that engage in tribalism (all of us pretty much), think you're privy to knowledge that's not attainable to the general public and think that it make you special.” Here you go again with the assumptions and projection. I never stated anything to that effect. I am as special as amethyst, as special as a water molecule, as special as a photon, as special as dirt, as special as a dead carcass etc. As I mentioned before, philosophy is the middle stage of a person’s evolution. Philosophy teaches us how to think. The most important field of philosophy is the study of ethics/morality. In the end, a comprehensive understanding of Vices and Virtues is the true gem of philosophy. Philosophy offers a person knowledge. Spirituality is turning knowledge into wisdom. Spirituality is the next stage of a person’s evolution. Spirituality is the literal cultivation and transmutation of vices into virtues. Spirituality walks the walk, philosophy talks the talk. Your prior statement disparaging the very study that will help you evolve and find joy in life and in yourself, is quite telling. It’s okay, you clearly aren’t ready, but hopefully 5-15yrs from now you will comprehend fully what I stated above. In summation, I accept your apology, I didn’t need one because I didn’t take it personally. I see a lot of my younger self in you. Believe it or not, philosophy will not fulfill you, much like how all the riches in world doesn’t fulfill others. You have potential, I just hope you start walking the path instead of thinking about it. Keep striving for greatness, I have no doubt you’ll stumble upon it and its many external rewards, I pray you fine the internal reward which is the true treasure.
I would love to hear George's take on the monsters who advocate forced birth for rape victims and victims of incest!! It is horrifying to imagine these kind of monsters are in control of anything or anyone. There is no Hate like Christian love !!
Best line: “When John Cardinal O'Connor of New York and some of these other cardinals and bishops have experienced their first pregnancies and their first labor pains and have raised a couple of children on minimum wage, then I’ll be glad to hear what they have to say about abortion.” - George Carlin
I hate the “pro-life” description. I guess if I’m not “pro-life,” I must be “anti-life???” It’s time we change the narrative. Anti-abortion = anti-women, anti-freedom, anti-liberty, which mean ANTI-AMERICA!!!
@@edwink1467 It's not about controlling women, it's about not letting you kill your children, plain and simple. No one is holding you down, no one is saying you can't be you. People are just saying that killing a baby is still killing a baby, it's location (whether it be inside or outside the mother) doesn't affect that fact. And regardless of your financial situation, you don't know the future. You can't just kill someone because "he'll/she'll probably live a bad life". You don't know that. It isn't your body we're concerned about, it's the baby's body. The only reason abortion should be allowed imo is when the mother's life is in danger if she gives birth, or if she got pregnant through rape. And even then, it's still a little messed up since we're killing an innocent baby for something his/her dad did.
Oh good heavens, I adored him! Since we no longer know or enjoy REAL funny men or women like Carlin, this few minutes had me crying, I laughed so hard! Brilliance. He was able to turn reality in to comedy like no other ever could. I miss him so...... we could really use him about now.....
This man will always be relevant. We need him today.
oh, all the material he would have today...
If he came back, he'd die of a heart attack in the first day, or he'd just turn a 180 and say f that.
Anyone else on a George Carlin binge?
The only person on this earth that spoke the truth....how can you not binge watch this man.
I needed to listen to a little sanity in this insane world we have today.
Hell yes
Just got finished watching one of his rants on abortion. We need him back!
Always
This man was a prophet who happened to do comedy. I 100% believe this!
This is AMAZING how right he was and that this is so relevant today!!!
Yet for a man who was woke kept saying Christ
Maybe this is the only way most people will listen to reason, if it's funny.
"Once you're born, you're on your own."
"If you're pre-born, you're fine. If you're pre-school, you're frakked."
I love it.
This may have been years ago, but it could be about today. RIP George was always a funny man.

That's because pro-aborts are getting bolder and more unhinged. Let's not forget angrier and less logical.

Robin Williams tho

So ON point! RIP, George. Who'll ever replace you? 😣
Carlin, Robin Williams, and Luis Black are The best Comedians of the age.
Lewis Black isn't hispanic, and you're obviously an anti-semite for not spelling his name Jewishly enough. 😊
I wish I was on a George Carlin binge. I always loved this guy...still do. Thank you.
This aged very well
72 yo white man here. George always hit it right.
The best person to ever live. George Carlin for ever.
Stupid

Chickens are decent people. Roosters may be cocks, but they ain't dicks.
His words continue to be true in today's time. I miss his whit that always had a very real ring of truth.
BEST.
OPENING.
EVER.
We need George's reason more than ever.
Thrilled to find this content. Fantastic. Love from India.
Hasn’t changed at all.
I miss him.
Love the way he cleared some smoke..not all ejaculation deserves a name😄😄TRUE!!
Ihad no idea this was the opening.
I would love to hear George's take on the monsters who advocate forced birth for rape victims and victims of incest!! It is horrifying to imagine these kind of monsters are in control of anything or anyone. There is no Hate like Christian love !!
George was brilliant
Holy cow this guy was spittin back in the 90s
Best line: “When John Cardinal O'Connor of New York and some of these other cardinals and bishops have experienced their first pregnancies and their first labor pains and have raised a couple of children on minimum wage, then I’ll be glad to hear what they have to say about abortion.” - George Carlin
“They’re anti-women.” He nailed it.
@@jlbjrfmcsa6765 you mean anti-tumor removal?
john bouchard what are your reasons for saying us pro choice people are baby killers?
lilly lazer I just asked to see what she would say
I hate the “pro-life” description. I guess if I’m not “pro-life,” I must be “anti-life???”
It’s time we change the narrative.
He was ahead of his time 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I wish he was here to take on Trump, it would of been priceless! Miss this guy, he was brilliant.
george carlin was born in 37. they stopped making them like him a long time ago.
Truly thought provoking comedian, exposing false, illogical and unreasonable belief systems.
I may not agree with everything he says, but I do like that he makes you think. Not many comics, or public figures, do this anymore.
George knew a thing or two. Sadly missed.
"The Sun isn't yellow it's a chicken!"
he's so logical
A moment of silence for incels and conservatives that searched for George Carlin on CZcams after reading some fake quotes on social media.
Is it only me or could a young George Carlin play the joker? He has the voice and looks :)
Raffi Kasarjian yes awesome
One of the greatest. He made me question. Evrthing. And anything
Oh good heavens, I adored him! Since we no longer know or enjoy REAL funny men or women like Carlin, this few minutes had me crying, I laughed so hard! Brilliance. He was able to turn reality in to comedy like no other ever could. I miss him so...... we could really use him about now.....
The absolute truth from George. The best ever.
Genius just being real. Cool as hell.
Whenever someone makes the ridiculous comment that Carlin was a right-winger, I refer them to this clip.
Would be the best grandfather
Son of a bitch knew how to open a show!
Chickens are decent people. LOL
Little did people know back then that George was warning us about what would happen right now.
Waaaaaaay ahead of his time
He was barely in time, but I like his presentation at any rate.
Holy foking shit imaging if George was alive 2day... the fun he would be having...
He'd have been cancelled off every platform for "medical misinformation" the first time he said one word about the coof.
So ahead of his time
Carlin binge here and I am a moderate conservative love him
Applies now more than ever.
The master of the English language
Wow, how times have changed.
Funny as hell but he always made a lot of sense all at the same time.
Most brilliant man I ever got to meet
0:41 I asked that same question a few nights ago at work.
He'd be furious how asleep millions of people's conscience is now...
No one tells it like it is the way George Carlin does! A powerhouse of truth!
Timeless.
Miss you, George.
True genius is timeless.
Miss him to this day…..
