- In the summer of 2020, a friend of mine, Mark Hammond, set out for the fastest known time (FKT) around Mount Rainier on the Wonderland Trail located in Mount Rainier National Park.

Mark only had a crew of two other friends, myself and Kurt Daniels, and neither of us could pace or even keep up with Mark, so we were worthless in that aspect of the deal, but we did the next best thing and set up aid stations, crewed, and filmed.
The Wonderland Trail is 93 miles around Mt. Rainier and has an elevation gain of about 25,000 feet. Doing this trail in one day is hard enough, and trying to beat the FKT is another feat in and of itself. These ultra athletes are elite!
Did you know that with the release of this video, I held a fundraiser for the Donnelly Public Library, and with all the contributions given, (listed at the end of the video) we were able to donate more than $1,000 to the Donnelly Public Library. Big thanks to all of you who donated. I love you, your support to the library is much appreciated. A lot of local children benefit from the Donnelly Library and I hope the staff and volunteers are able to accomplish great things in the future.

Record or no record it's a good run, love Mark's attitude! Great film Dan. Hiked this beast last summer over 7 days, couldn't imagine doing it this fast!
Thanks! After seeing Mark do this, I want to hike it. That is cool that you have done it.
Your honest conclusion made me subscribe
That's awesome. I really appreciate that.
Awesome! Beautifully filmed and edited.
Excellent video and work! Impressed you were able to effectively incorporate a sound loop of hippopotamus belching into the theme music as well.
HAHA. I’m glad you heard that.
This is such a inspiration journey.
Thanks for awesom video. 🙏
Really nice film! Your editing was spot on!
This was way cool. The filming and story was great! Crazy how the conditions of the trail will dictate your outcomes. Well done to everyone involved.
Thanks Ammon. I appreciate that. I always think the same about conditions. You never really think they will make that big of a difference, but it for sure does. Same thing goes with skiing.
Such an epic film and run! Mark is the man! Thanks for sharing this with us Dan! So cool!
Absolutely! Thanks for watching it and for your comment.
Wow! 👍🏃♂️🏃♂️
Congrats on the fundraiser Dan. This was super inspiring, and so well produced!

Thank you Sam, much appreciated.
Awesome video!
Thanks!
Insane production quality
Thanks! I appreciate that.
Great video, guys! Nice run by Mark too! Is he of Scottish descent? He is a dead ringer for my old Scottish running coach/mentor/friend.
Thanks @mokefish. I have no idea if he is Scottish descent, good question. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching and for your comment. Much appreciated.
What Altras was he running in?
I am not sure, I'll ask Mark and get back to you.
I think it was the Duo, which is a road shoe strangely enough
