On July 1st, 2015, Gary Robbins - a seasoned and winning ultrarunner - started at Longmire, in the shadow of Mount Rainier, and attempted to set the fastest known supported time around the Wonderland Trail. Kyle Skaggs' record of 20 hours 53 minutes was always considered unbeatable. 93 miles, over 24,000ft of elevation gain, and record breaking heat. This day had it all. Could Gary step up to the challenge?

For a very long time the 2014 Gorge 50k was my favorite Ginger runner film. But not anymore, it's this one. What a great movie! Great shots, great story, great people. I don't know Gary but based on this film alone I think he's incredible. Going for the FKT is hard as it is but then to have the heart to share the experience with his friends by taking them along (and dropping them) shows he has a great heart. Ethan, Jeff great stuff. Gary you are the best!

When I met Gary for the first time I felt a special kind of energy around him. After watching this documentary, it confirmed one thing: it's not about his aura, it's just the way he is: connected to nature with a real passion to run and experiment life at the fullest.
It's always hard to describe how you feel when you run because it is a very intimate, personal moment. Gary + Ginger Runner have done amazing work here. This clip is not about competing, it is a very deep storytelling about a human being in quest of his own journey, an exciting challenge that he set himself and shared to his friends (and the rest of us !).
Thank you for sharing this experience with us. If you could receive an award, it would be WELL DESERVED !
Gary: awesome focus and discipline. You can truly see authentic, genuine love of the act of running, his pure connection to nature and people around him.
    Love it.

As a hockey player my whole life, I just picked up running again after a two year haitus. But I'm back and I feel stronger than ever. Tomorrow I'm running the furthest I've ever had to run (7 miles) for my upcoming half marathon training. Wish me luck! Gary is an inspiration to me to push through these miles like they're nothing!

+Dan Hewitt I 'raced' UTMF in Japan last weekend, but had some fatigue issues. Gonna spend quality family time now and then focus on HURT 100 in January and put in for the Hard Rock 100 lottery once again :)

Gary Robbins I would have to say that 14th place in UTMF is defiantly an awesome race result, congrats! See you in SQ next Aug for my 3rd SQ50 weekend! (and maybe my first 50/50 attempt?!)

THIS. IS. INCREDIBLE!!! What an amazing accomplishment, not just by Gary Robbins, but the entire crew. Gary did the running, and I have huge respect for him, but this was a team event. Something about people coming together, working toward a common goal and achieving it is a beautiful thing.
Mt. Rainier is beautiful too. Definitely gotta spend some more time there.

I have been following Barkley, the Ginger runner and just ultra in general. I think I saw this video, but just hadn’t watched it yet. Holy cow, much respect, I think you should watch this just before Barkley and remember this high, let it carry you!!
