I enjoy your video's. I'm a 74 year old guy who's been riding Harley's' since I was 14 and I'm still riding them. This "electric" stuff is cool but I don't think I'll ever own one. But, I enjoy learning about something new.
Wait until you see our electric CB750 running this coming week! May change your mind!
See if you can test ride one. Might be fun.
good news, harley makes an electric motorcycle lol
@@bHBullet Good news for who? It's $30K. 😱
I’m right there with u,55 ,335 ,6’2’’ ,,think I will stick to what will carry my big ass 😂
The unplugged connector may be wrong to the consumer, but it prevents the throttle from being turned accidentally during shipping and handling; since the wheel got locked up inside the package. Usually, the battery always had some preserved power before shipping.
Ah.
But if it was unplugged on purpose then why did the company not say that when he contacted them?
@@maynardssoblue3839 Probably not for how cheap it is lol. Too low end to have all the higher techy items built in. Bike looks super basic for a kid so theres no key likely
Exactly it is not "broken" like this guy claimed.
Keep in mind when shipping bikes like this, they generally ship it to a distribution hub near you in bulk. It is always recommended to disconnect the battery for safety reasons to prevent fire and that’s what probably happened here. Poor manufacturing guidelines is probably the issue as Chinese companies most likely have different electrical guidelines. The fact that the technical support for that bike said that is FUBAB. Also Costco sells the very same type.
Looking at the bike, and the price, my expectations were incredibly low. So it's actually pretty decent considering. If you went at the quoted speed, it could probably reach the quoted range.
Yes, this one is better than my e-scooter. Price is same, but mine drives 20 to 30 minutes at full speed which is supposedly 25 km/h but rather 18-20😭 i hate it so much, i want to dispose of it bcs i forsaked it lol
@@lugami my $280 gotrax scooter in the US goes 15MPH, and has 15 mile claimed range(but I've found does more like 10 miles full speed gear 2, gear 1 will do longer).
What crappy model did ya buy? Sorry to hear that.
Sellers in China will often say you need to ship it back to them at your own cost but actually if Amazon allows returns, you just go through the regular process and Amazon will collect it and do whatever needs to be done.
I agree. This is specially true if you buy from an american importer. They usually offer to do the entire process themselves. This is one of the reasons it is a good idea to buy from these people. Just check the price, some charge more than others but you will most likely be able to find the product at a fair price...with added security.
@Leroy Jones What actually happens is that Amazon sell returned items by the pallet to resellers.
that is true, I can confirm that. I actually returned one to Amazon and I did not have any problems. Amazon's return is awesome.
@@RamgXP who is tony
Most items sold by CCP CHINA is rubbish . Thanks for giving MONEY to the Enemy
Very much like my own experience with the little Ancheer scooter: fun to ride for errands but not a commuter bike. Eventually, less than a year, the battery would not charge.
Ancheer would not sell me a replacement battery. I tried after market batteries but they either would not work or were not durable.
I bought a Swagtron Pro. I still have that but the battery (after 10 months) does not allow anything but short rides...six miles and it is done.
I just picked up a Sailnovo - a true moped - pedal assist and all. So far, it is working well,
don’t cheap out too much or you will buy twice or in your car thrice..
@@NineDiamont500 for the year is a deal
I had one similar to this except it had pedals so you could still ride it home when the batteries ran out. Also, for weaker e-bikes like this, if you do a moderate zig zag when going up steeper slopes you can usually make it upwards without issue. Cheers!
At this price get a scooter. My $280 gotrax has 15MPH speed and 15 mile range.
@@roboticvenom1935 A scooter is a completely different experience, so not sure there is much of a comparison to be made.
Actually kind of cool, you can throw it in your trunk for 10 miles of tooling around your destination. I'm sure you could hack a larger capacity battery into it for longer range, and/or bolt 2 together to make a cart.
Imagine if the box came and it was that expensive electric car!
Hahaha
what.
From the website
Mileage Range( in different weight ranges):
60KG(132lbs) / 15miles;75KG (165lbs)/ 10.6miles
So they don't lie for the rage because I don't think that you're 60KG weight 🤣
Not to mention he was going over the quoted speed, which drains the battery more than if he drove it slower. Hills don't help either.
Yes indeed, taking into consideration that it's designed for smaller (lighter) people, not really for adults.
After about a year, how is it performing?
Also, is it possible to recharge the battery while riding it?
my daughters mom and i live together and we havent actually been in a relationship in 2 years but she has nerve damage in her hands from when she had stomach cancer and having gone through chemo. she was recently diagnosed with cervical cancer and i think something even this simple could make her feel more independent. mind you, shes a great mom and we do any and everything to make sure that our daughter is happy and healthy

Devon is a troll.
Did you try kick starting the scooter ebike or downloading the Bluetooth app to change the settings? The kick to start mode on the scooter ebike might be on as a safety feature.
I like how you just went across the street without looking to see if a car was coming. Real guts!
Just like the lower cc bikes from China or Amazon, sometimes they disconnect the battery line or gas line for shipping purposes, idk why but yeah, the average consumer doesn't even know and most bike places look at you weird when u come in with the Chinese products needing help😂
indeed, for bikes meant to be sold in stores, it come from the factory unplugged and it's up to the store staff to assemble before it can be displayed and sold. Not sure if this is the case here, since it would mean every single bike would have this problem, and it's a massive oversight of the whole seller not to attach assembly instruction. (or perhaps they did and they just didn't read it.)
Hmmm. Interesting -- can you attach a basket somewhere (front or rear) for carrying groceries?
Lmao loved that intro bro 😂🤘🏽💯
When it comes to mileage, I'm pretty sure they quote you the figure you can expect if you're riding at half throttle everywhere, just like car and motorcycle manufacturers. Seemed to me you went pretty much everywhere at full throttle. And re the unplugged motor, most videos I've seen on CZcams getting bikes shipped from China, they're all like that. Maybe it's to ensure no short happens on the boats and starts a fire, killing everyone on board. Just a thought...
And weight. They usually expect the rider will weigh 50 or 60 kg at most.
@@DrBernon The Chinese are a lot smaller than us (i'm not american) i'm European, the weight is i bet 30% less than his.
@@arturjcrebelo3275 Well... There is no standard on driver weigh. That is why honest manufacturers will use a weigh closer to the rated limit, like 80kg, and others will use 40kg rider to brag about having better rage.
It has nothing to do with where it is marketed to or where it was made.
I'm European as well, and I have seen a lot of scooters that sport 120kg use a 40kg rider for range tests. If they don't say the weight of the rider, you can assume it is 40kg or less.
When he started fanning himself with the gun.... f@kin lost it!!!! The🤣🤣🤣🤣
Inja ma man, I did not get the notification . Always cracks me up the explosion, great intro very entertaining ," let me get my phone" 1 hour later 😂😂😂. Great video as always.
I don’t know why I laugh a lot whenever you mention Han Tony. 😂
Looks like it would be good for parking. If you park your car in the far end of the lot at the game, or tooling around the university campus, or camping. You get your RV parked, take one of these to the office or around the campground.
Exactly!
The explosion meme gets me every time especially when he went to wash the e motorcycle off in the other video
Does it have an app that you can use with it? I have the same ebike but different name. It uses the Dyu app and you can adjust the speed up to 25 mph. Mine will do the full 25 mph for 15 miles.
What’s yours ?
That could be a good future project. Modify it with 72v and 1500 watt motor and you will see it flying 😉.
on that little thing it would be terrifying if you put that on that little bike lol. 52v and 1500w hub motor feels sketchy when u get above 35 mph even on a standard sized mountain bike
@@bHBullet I've seen it done and yeah sketchy, but still seems pretty fun. With its low center of gravity it might be a little safer, at least till you hit a turn.
@@TheRealAlpha2 it's all fun and games till you hit a turn and keep going straight ahead
I did that with a Swagcycle 1 it's similar to this one. I put a 1000 watt 48v motor on it with a 52v battery. I can get up to 55 kph here in Canada with a downhill run over 60 kph. I just normally rid at 40 to 45 kph, but the torque will pull it out your hands if you don't watch out.
@@TKomoski dude .... put up a vid ! -- Been waiting to see someone MOD one of these or an EB7 .... funny ! ..
It wasn’t broken they do that to protect the battery
Yep and they don't care if you know it or not. Couldn't care less. Why would they.
I agree. Probably disconnected with good intentions / on purpose, but the fact that they failed to tell the customer is not ideal
Then why wouldn’t they have something that says you have to plug it in before it works
@@CynHicks why would they not bud

I’m 65 years old with back issues and that looks like it’s small and light enough to fit in the baggage compartment of my Cessna. Do you think this would be a good fit for me?
when shipping from China, sometimes customs will disconnect the battery for safety reasons before shipping.
At least the company asked you to double-check things yourself and thankfully you didn't have to ship it back!
Note: I'm thinkin' it was left unplugged for Safe Shipping Purposes, not mentioned in the instructions? (not sure)
Also, riding uphill will draw more current which won't meet its 15 mile standard (on level ground). Maybe the battery gauge could be calibrated as well. Keeping all this in mind, yes, it's still a respectable light portable unit...Thanks for sharing! = )
It's perfect for my RV. Gets me into town on a regular basis. I have the one with the pedal assist though. Fits right in my storage compartment. Don't have to leave it hanging off the back of the rv to get stolen. I get about 12-15 miles comfortably. No real inclines but about half of it in dirt. Without pedal assist.
What upgrade to the motor could be done for more torque or speed?
Amazing review!! Very informative… from unboxing to full review on battery life and power. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
It definitely out performed my expectations looking at it at first when you initially unboxed it.
I bought one from Costco, under the brand Jetson. I have to admit it was amazing! Sadly the battery does deteriorate at a fast rate, I was getting 8-10 miles per charge and 6 months later I was barely getting 4-5 miles.
You can try to replace the battery with new one.
@@linjunhalida Easier said than done. Not a highly advertised item. The battery for this and Hoverway Skrinter is a hidden secret it seems.
Stock battery is 3p10s or 4p10s, the 3S uses the same structure. The cells are 2000mAh, could not google the make or model.
What is the wheel base or total length. Be a good start for a VW pod
Loved it. What do you do with these many bikes.
I just found you through another channel and I am glad I did. I was actually thinking of buying this exact scooter/bike. Seeing how small it is, my search continues
I love your channel and the reviews you do, help me make decisions based on sound user experiences. Thanks for this, I'm going to buy one using the link you provided.
Standard power control disconnection when delivered this is no surprise a factory standard it stops the battery being drained to 0Vdc which kills the battery. After sales service should know this and tell you to connect the disconected plug.
He actually tells that the servicedesk told him to do it... so after sales was pretty good ;)
You have the dyu d1f. I have 20,000 miles I my D1. It has the app control that allows 19.6 mph. I also installed a. 16 amp battery for a 40 mile range. I travel everywhere on mine. 3 throttles and countless tubes later I'm still in love with it. For reference I'm 5' 11" and weigh 125.
Great video! I had it saved on my cart but after this video, it just seems like its more suited for kids.
It's actually pretty fun. But if it's for commuting there's definitely better ebikes to be had. Plus this is a scooter, not a real bike so you're stranded when it dies.
@@TheInja Im loving my Segway Ninebot max but i have my doubts for snowy weather. Got soaked twice and it handled it like a champ though.

@@belgumfamily9288 no thats natural selection.
I'd been looking at this a long time ago... well versions of it. There are like 5 or 6 different brand names, but I believe it's originally DYU that makes them they make versions with pedals and slightly larger wheels as well.. A slightly stripped down version sells from Jetson (occasionally as little as $250 at Costco but you only get one brake). The quality can vary quite a bit, but Ancheer seemed to be one of the better versions (seems like they changed the horn because before you had to blow the horn _before_ the light would activate). It's possible if it really came from China directly that they might have been told to disconnect the battery for shipping so that it doesnt turn on in the box and explode or get damaged in some other way (I've seen Electric unicycles do something similar.) It's been said that if you have the DYU app you can unlock a higher speed, I think about 18 mph is max but obviously range takes a hit. Rides like this, you should always bring your charger.
it will be a fun project u should make a youtube vid of it 👍
how will it perform going up a steep hill?
hi, first how tall are you comparing to the bike size and i'm only right handed so technically i only use the right side breahs, could that work for me?

I bought direct from Eahora and spent 1300$ on an ebike that died in 17 miles. Bike came

Oh we had those models and similar ones about a year or so back before the ban hammer hit. We had some crazies who'd soup them up running 120v and flying at blazing speeds.
