What a game for Cat. Imagine playing in the NHL for your hometown team, getting a pass like that from Larkin, 2 goals, home opener, first home game. Must be a dream come true. Cant help but be happy for the young man.

DCat will get alot of attention, but I'm loving what Compher and Sprong are doing these early games. I don't know if the Wings will get in the playoffs this year but early indications are the games will be way more fun to watch regardless!
I think Sprong was the best FA signing. Didn’t know about about him, but I love what I’ve seen in limited time so far.
@@TheVlad1616I agree, Darren McCarty has been saying that spronger kinda has been over shadowed by the amazing debrincat signing. He was saying that the fans are really gonna start loving Daniel sprong and it’s not gonna take long

The “Refs you suck” chants were out strong. Never heard that one before, but it was fun to join in on lol
@@cammackinnon My general rule is: If a knowledgeable fanbase(e.g. Detroit has very good hockey smart fans) chants "Ref you suck" more than 3 separate times in a 5 minute stretch, the ref is actively, purposely pulling the 'game management over game officiating' theme we see so often in the NHL, or they just actually suck at their job. Based on seeing this game live, and seeing all the hand signals, they just actively suck at their job. Seider broke a stick by slashing it, no call, Larkin got slashed so hard behind the play you could see the stick used to do it flex 35 degrees. There were THREE cheap shots on Raymond by Sergachev - who also came in from the blue line to perform a dangerous takedown on Seider, an opposing high profile defenseman (targeted attack in other words). The Lightning got away with murder this game, and the Referees chose no to see it, or were too stupid to.
I loved the subtle deception by Larkin on his pass to DeBrincat. He angled his stick subtly so it was hard to tell if he's dishing it to Cat or winding up a shot. That moment's hesitation was enough for DeBrincat to bury it. Great goal. LGRW!

It's only the second game of the year. But very exciting game and the Wings mostly outplayed Tampa. Defensively a bit shaky game but defense should get better as they get some games under their belts. Let's go Red Wings!

The wings are finally looking pretty decent. I've been waiting since the 2000s for another exciting team to watch. Considering they dumped a bunch of good players they're still doing really well

This is what has been missing for a very long time bit shaky 1st period and against the run of play when we scored good job their number one goalie was out but if we play like this all season we will make the playoffs deserved this win just need to be tighter in defence it was a crazy 15 seconds the old rosters would've caved in and then lose in o.t
I try not to complain too much about the refs, it’s a tough job… but my god, what blind group of zebras out there last night. Missed a clear trip on Debrincat in the d-zone in the 3rd and a blatant interference on Copp on the penalty kill in the second. Aside from that, what a great 60 minutes played by Detroit…
As a ref, when there are 4 of you on the ice it is pretty easy. Especially when the actual referees(orange arm band) dont have to worry about offsides, icing, or faceoffs. There are not too many moments out of the refs view and from someone in the building, they were blinder than a bat.

My guess was the initial scrum between Seider and the tamp player. Idk otherwise, but Walman jumped him too, the third man should get that penalty I think. Dunno tho it was a weird scream that seemed pretty even to warrant a powerplay
