$2K for cam install on that Stang is a rip-off. Most I can see is $500.
Book time is 9-10 hrs... plus gaskets, new phaser bolts, shop supplies (cleaners, silicone sealant, assembly lube, shop towels etc.) and any extras that may be found while the engine is opened up, oil change afterwards is recommended, anything under $1000 for the install is a deal

BikeLifezx10rT I rebuilt the top end of my K20 with TODA cams and accompanying hardware. That engine is a bitch. No I’ll never work on it again. Currently at 65,000 miles of abusive 9k fast and furious shifting. Worth it though.
Edit: my one day planned project took 4 days. 2 percent f which were just data driving. The hondata community really helped.
I bought all parts and the cheapest I've found to do it is $1700
4.10s are better for autos, run 3.73 for stick
My GT500 does not have any of the problems and it drinks heavily. I did not buy a 500HP touring car concerned about fuel consumption. I am currently at 650HP at the wheels....

Detroit Rockers...Got 365HP on the dyno with bolt ons,410 gears, and stock coils and plugs.That was being conservative with the tune,and twisted to 6700 rpm's.Great choppy idle,good low and midrange,and pulls like a bear! The car is a blast to drive,with no bad manners.Sally needs some dyno time,dude.Forget that Bama stuff.With your mods,it's time to bring it all together.Are you done with school?Might be time to leave Commiefornia and move somewhere where you can mod your wheels and not have to worry about getting pulled over because some cop doesn't like the sound of your cams.I enjoy your videos,Nate!Sally is lookin' good!Oh,and check out a Barton shifter.Completely bolt in,no adjustments.You'll be glad you did.Good luck!

I bought the detroit rockers and did the install and CMDP
1. my cammed 07 gets the same 13mpg on 90% town driving and 24mpg at 80-85 on the highway after i did my cams. Your decrease is probably due to the way you drive after the swap
2. I kept the cats so i don't have the smell issue
3. Yep i noticed a good deference on the Throttle response and low end but i kept my 3.55 gears (wanted 4.10s but they were on back order for 2 months everywhere and my pinion bearing crapped out)
4. Price is a little high but totally worth it to me
5. The 4000rpm+ power band is much stronger to me (which i do get to quite often) and i rev mine out to 6500.

I have a question Ever since I put comp cams in my 08 mustang for some reason at lower rpms it will jerk forward or if I’m racing and I try to launch at like 2500 rpm it will die to about 500 then take off not sure what’s wrong with my car if I need to upgrade my gears cause I have stock gears or something I don’t know what to do

Arco has a lot of impurities in the fluid. I would look into it and into switching from Arco to 76.
Bro I just got a mustang like yours but its all stock, just wanna know whats your 0-60 and like how much horsepower you got to see if modding it will be worth it. Im in love with Sally awesome job
I will agree the low end torque is mehh with the hot rod cams I rectified this with a torque converter, i lived in Houston at the time and a major torque convertor distributor was down the street. Went 3200 billet stall and its night and day!
Nate does not have a torque converter.

Stink mostly because flash tunes usually run rich to be safe on any and every mustang they flash get a dyno tune to lean it out a little and get your numbers right the smell will go away and by getting the air fuel right you will pick up some torque I had same issue with my cammed 3v

The #1 reason to cam a 4.6 3v is because at 1 point in time your roller followers will fail an eat up your camshaft an then you will have no other choice but to put cams in it that’s my issue now with my 09 lol

Exhaust burns your eyes because its running too rich. The tune your using puts more fuel in the intake causing an excess. Not a problem and should not cause an issue. It is what is when you run a race type of tune

What benefit did you notice from the Charge Motion Delete Plates?
Forist Johnson probably very little. Shouldnt delete unless you are going turbo OR NA with 4.10 gears LT headers and 62mm TB.
I do have 4.10 gears, complete Exhaust Long Tubes as well as Off Road X-Pipe.
kinda hard to tell since i did the install the same time as long tube headers and camshafts, but multiple resources say 10hp

I'm putting this here for future people. The CMP actually close off 75% of the port until 3000 (i think maybe 3500). When they open they don't go straight up and down either they are still slightly angled which hurts airflow. With mine they were also caked with cooked oil and were probably 3-4 times thicker then the plate originally was. Unless you absolutely need then or never go over 3000rpm ( why do you even have a Mustang then) delete them.
My Mustang uses corn fuel....
No 93 octane in your area? I tend to use it on my 05 Monte Carlo S/C.

The low end torque is not because of the cams, it's because you removed the CMCV's. They are engineered into the stock OEM manifold for a reason....and that reason is....wait for it......LOW END TORQUE! Educate yourself about your engine FIRST before you start throwing parts on it.
My pretty much stock GT gets only 12mpg. Anyone know why?
Are your spark plugs fouled? Is your air filter clean? Is your air flow sensor clean and working properly? Are your O2 sensors working right?
@@cyberprimate5511 turns out the spark plugs were fouled. This was also causing major throttle hesitation/misfiring. Never threw code. Changed the plugs and a cracked coil and it’s running like new again!

You need to work on your shifting. Your lugging would go away.
Nate you gotta take off your exhaust and cats and listen to the lope of the cams completely open headers. I ran my car open headers before i got the straight pipes put on and even with the stock cams it sounded like it had upgraded cams. I can't imagine how yours would sound
That wouldn't be smog legal.
That smog equipment is there to keep our air clean. It's stupid to take that stuff off. Especially if you live in a basin.

I'm running Long Tube Headers in California, I stopped caring about Smog a loonnnggg time ago. Now, I'm Long Tube Headers to Straight Pipe with no cats, DEFINITELY not passing smog this year LOL

I dunno man pushing more than 400hp at the crank with this engine with stock internals seems like running on borrowed time. If I do mine I might go 525 horsepower with forged internals. I just don't want to break my car :)
