    Criminally low views for how informative and step by step the tutorial is. I know very little about magic, and while it would take me a lot of practice to be able to reproduce this well, you give every single tool needed to do so if someone wanted. Really amazing stuff man thank you.

    Great tutorial! And love the idea of the ring aspect for the reason they cross. As soon as I saw you start out with it, I thought great idea!

    This is just fantastic!! I mean, the trick itself is amazing, but the history, and the thinking behind it is fabulous. Well done, Rick!

    Love the routine. You mentioned one move as the "Marlo friction pass", I knew the move as the Benzias friction pass?

    • @RickHolcombe
      @RickHolcombe  Před 5 měsíci

      Yes. It was miscredited, and I make a point to try and correct that for people. Michael Rubinstein made that discovery.

    Rick, d9 you prefer working with dollar size coins, or .50 coins..?

    • @RickHolcombe
      @RickHolcombe  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Half Dollars mostly in real life. The Dollars are more clear on video and for teaching.

  • @MartinLeurs

    May I ask why the coins from the purse are first put into the right hand? It would also be possible to take them directly into the left hand. By pulling off the ring, the illusion of an empty hand is created and it would not need this hand-washing gesture to transfer the coin. Especially since the palm of the left hand is not shown openly before the gesture anyway.
    I'm just learning this really nice routine and wonder if this step is helpful or if the spectator doesn't wonder why the hands are doing this washing gesture.
    Even if nothing can be seen, it might lead to the assumption that something is hidden in the hands. An assumption that might not arise at all without this gesture.

    • @RickHolcombe
      @RickHolcombe  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Mainly, it is because I am right-handed, and it feels better to take the coins out with my right hand.
      Spectators don't analyze things to that depth. They see things as they are presented, and if the movements are natural enough and generally well motivated, then they aren't questioned.

    I love your coin magic. But with clammy hands and just never really doing coin magic other than easy gimmicked coins I don't do coin tricks. @RickHolcombe do you have a routine I can purchase from you that is a simple one coin routine? Thank you for all that you teach on this channel.
