    Practicing can be boring and can feel like you're not making any progress at times. We all learn at a different pace and better with different techniques. In this video I give you a practice drill to learn so you can get those palming transitions down smoother. Then, I teach you a One Coin Routine to help you put all those palms into a useful routine that will double as a practice exercise and a performance piece.

      Thank you for the content, it's really informative.
      I've just started out trying to learn the palms, clips and sleights.
      UK based, so practicing with 2p/10p coins.
      I'm really struggling with the thumb clips, both front and rear because it hurts my thumb joint when loading into the clip from the index finger and middle finger. I guess this is just a muscle training and will get easier.
      I saw a video that shows the thumb clips being achieved from the ring finger, much like the "classic" but diagonally up.
      When going into front thumb clip from relaxed where do you start from?

    Hi Rick, this is the guy with the rheumatoid arthritis hands again LOL. I just wanted to let you know this was the first routine that showed up while I was going through CZcams looking at different coin magic tutorials. And it was so amazing the way that you teach and show the different palming techniques and how to get in and out of them. And then turn it into that really amazing routine using those different slides with that wonderful mind-blowing ending where you turn that last coin move into your wallet!! That's how I found your channel and I am so glad that I subscribed to it and I have been looking through all the other routines and teachings that you have which are so many. But I am going to focus on this particular teaching for now until I can try and get the slides good enough even with my hands the way they are to be able to feel comfortable doing the whole routine and learning those particular slights the way that you teach them. I used to practice coin magic and always used half dollars they were easier to palm and work with. So now I need to go to my bank and see if I can get some half dollars to start practicing with again!! That was before I was ever put on permanent disability for fibromyalgia and then the rheumatoid arthritis and a few other issues that came along the way. But I love to take my mind off of those type of problems and Magic has always been a love of mine. I did get to do magic shows before I was ever diagnosed with fibromyalgia.and have never lost my love for it!! And now that I found your channel it has made me very happy. I am in my 60's now. And was diagnosed with severe fibromyalgia at the mayo clinic when I was about 37. So keep up the great work!! And thank you very much!!

    16:37 That sleight (using two coins evidently) is called the "Flying Shuttle Pass". It was also independently devised by Jay Sankey in the 1990's-early 2000's which he marketed for the first time in his DVD "Revolutionary Coin Magic" I believe. And Jay (on the DVD) gives credit to Scotty York for also independently devising this at about the same time as him. Jay was the one to entitled it "Flying Shuttle Pass".

    • @RickHolcombe
      @RickHolcombe  Před 4 lety +2

      My point was doing half of the flying shuttle to make a coin production out of it. So, doing the flying shuttle witha piece of "nothing". I should have mentioned the full move though. I know better than that. Curtis Kam also came upwith the same general idea of the flying shuttle maybe before both of them.
