Scaremongering with the specter of another thalidomide is irresponsible and frankly stupid.
I agree, and it's not just the fast tracking it's the fact that we already have an extensive knowledge of coronoviruses and have been researching for a potential vaccine for 'virus x' or whatever as we knew it was inevitable. So basically it's not only taken a year to make it's more like decades of development.

The woman with her grandmother - they decided to take the grandmother on a whim, the nurse who was going to care for her had NO equipment - no adapted bathroom facilities, no lifting equipment, no specialist bed. A 71 year old cannot provide 24 hour care that a woman suffering with dementia would need. If they wanted to take her home then there is a process they could follow, and a care plan would need to be set up.
She wasn't arrested for taking the mother either, she was arrested for assaulting a member of staff at the care home.

Does the UK not mandate vaccines for kids to go to school? In most areas, in the US, if you want to send your kid to a K-12(public, many private) school, you have to show documentation of vaccinations. It is sort of a loophole around TG's concern, as they aren't forcing the vaccine into people, so I'd be curious to hear what TG thinks.
Personally, I think employers and public services should require vaccination in order to participate. Want to shop in Walmart? You need to have the vaccine. Want to work at a company? You have to be vaccinated. Want to go to the library? Vaccination required. Obviously you have a time period where you can reasonably expect any given person to have access to a vaccine before implementing all of this, but this seems like a perfect solution. No one is forcing you to get the vaccine at the end up a gun, and no one has to let you threaten other people's health by spreading a virus. Win, win, win.

Its a balance between profit and real calculated risk to the population. I dont blame anyone verging on the side of sceptism . Especially when hundreds of billions of pounds are potentially about to be made from a mandatory vaccine.
Those mandatory vaccines are for things that are seriously dangerous, like measles, whooping cough, or polio, not some flu that's only dangerous if you're 80 years old.

@@OwenR1337 schools require documentation that a child has been vaccinated all across the world otherwise they have the right to refuse. A doctor is not allowed to practice if they are not up to date on all their vaccinations. Smallpox was made compulsory for EVERYONE back in the day. You can opt out the MMR if you want but there will be consequences, so in essence...you are forced to have it and rightly so.

Bryan I respect your choice about the vaccine and obviously you are right it is a personal choice, however vaccines are not only there for personal protection but also to protect those who can't get vaccinated because of their medical reasons (who are also the people usually most at risk of covid). Vaccines only properly work to eradicate a virus when there is herd immunity.

I'm a chef and I can say the eat out to help out was total chaos, it 100% had to do with the lock down. Because a restaurant like the one I work in they relies on big functions, weddings etc very much needed the customers to survive throught covid so there was not restrictions on the amount off customers where aloud in. And there was thousands off restaurant/pubs in the same situation just letting people in.

You do realise we donât give the flu vaccine out to everybody? Itâs normally only pensioners who get it.
The flu vaccine is different to the MMR vaccine where people could actually become deadly ill and have their immune system compromised for other illness, also becoming susceptible to things like pneumonia (consequences of Mumps i think) if they donât have the MMR vaccine. Whereas most people can ride out the flu and get better.
@@A_Turner Oh for sure, Im just speaking about vaccines in general. And im not from the UK, so I dont know who has access to the flu vaccine there. It was more an information on how/why vaccines work and the benefit of herd immunity.
And as for the MMR, absolutely important as well, but people with compromised immune systems, like, as you mentioned, elders, but also people with who take immune suppressents for autoimmune disorders, can still get really sick from the flu.
Also, like you said in ur last sentence, MOST can ride it out. It's about protecting those who can't.

Also the point I made about the MMR vaccine is that we all absolutely definitely need to have that one, because even if youâre a healthy individual, if you get the mumps youâll be ill for quite a while, and even after that there has been something like cellular warfare in your body. The reaction of your body is to try and kill the invasive cells (causing you to be ill) but the result is that some cells in your body end up being like collateral damage. The aftermath for many months after youâve had the Mumps is that you body is very weak and even for a perfectly healthy individual you may then also be susceptible to getting other even worse illnesses which could even then be fatal. So the MMR vaccine is one that people should definitely not ignore and think âno I donât need that oneâ
