I have never felt so infuriated and tired of a romantic subplot than with Starco. They reaaaaallly pushed it with alternative love interests, and even breaking character growth and tonal consistency just to squeeze as much romantic tension between the two.
They really should’ve been friends, like Tom and Marco had SO MUCH chemistry compared to Marco and star, they had too much of a best friend feel and they shouldn’t have made them in a romantic setting it just didn’t make sense

It's pretty hilarious with how much Kataang vs Zutara was one of the first shipping wars of the 21st century that years later there's a surge of people who go "meh whatever sokka/zuko is where it's at". Personally I was never a Kataang or Zutara fan so Sokka/Zuko is something while surprising is a ship I could get behind.

I love Raijack so much. I love the dynamic of Rarity being this upperclass high femme that when needed can throw a punch and AJs more down to earth yet kickass nature. Its so good. Applejack and Rainbow interacted a lot early on with their competitiveness however, they stopped being paired up in episodes together. Rarity and AJ IMO have much better chemistry and a more unique interactions.

Aye! My comment got shown 😁. I respect the preference for Aang x Katara. For me, Zutara was less about the enemies to lovers angle and more about the scene at the end of book 2 I'm the cave. Them sharing that moment talking about how they both lost their mothers to the war goes far to show how similar they are (ofcourse it also makes the eventual Zuko backslide sting more). Admittedly you're right in that Aang also just wasn't as aesthetically appealing to 7 yr old me as bad boy Zuko.

As someone who *used* to cosplay the sanders sides characters, her addressing that in this shipping video was so much fun for me.
I have NEVER understood bakudeku. I'm interested in them being friends since they were when they were young, I'm interested in how that would work out especially as competetive as they seem to want to be. As much as I love ATLA, one of the few issues I had was that Mai could've been utilized more. Ty Lee was written decently but it always felt like the writers didn't know what to do with Mai outside of her being gloomy, part of Azula's clique, and Zuko's love interest. I don't ship Zutara (or Kataang) but it's easy to see why Katara was seen by many fans as a better choice for Zuko.
Honestly bestie I feel the exact same way about the ATLA ships. Like Aang and Katara were so cute together, I saw the soulmate energy. Zuko and Katara was (imho) only a ship because people liked the aesthetic aspect of them (they look good together, fire and water, angsty boi with the most compassionate human on earth), but like. I never saw a reason for them to actually be a couple. And Zuko with Mae being end-game?? She was so dismissive and rude to him. Like I honestly felt like she just wanted him to fit her expectations of him. Callous, rich, and willing to bend to her whims. I never thought Mae actually loved him beyond a high school level relationship. Honestly still so upset he didn't go back to the girl from Ba-Sing-Se (I don't remember her name, so sorry). She had so much chemistry with Zuko and he was willing to expose himself as a fire bender just to give her the best date night ever.
Missed opportunity to talk about Owen and DJ. They are the ultimate otp. My everything ship from day one. I love them sm.

Now as much as I love all the fan content around them, I can't in good conscience put them in S Tier because of the stuff you mentioned, but I definitely think they can make it work with enough time. (And Gems have basically all the time in the universe so...)
Low A Tier or high B Tier for me. Both of them still have some growing to do, but if Lapis can learn to be more patient and Peridot can do her best to respect Lapis's trauma, the two of them have great chemistry. They're not perfect, but they compliment each other surprisingly well.

Some of the voices in the english dub are pure gold(Licorice's voice being one of them, go look up his lines), but I still recommend the original Korean dub, with english subtitles. I'm aware of most of the fandoms, and yes for some reason I'm the one standing in a corner giving my all for Gwourtney because it's some kind of comfort for me.
It seems like the perfect plot to me, after a love triangle the two realize how disgusting Duncan is and that he wants to attract attention,so the two of them, as the final season goes, become friends and along the way they realize they like each other, great story.
Also, Heatherra doesn't work according to "Heather's Rewritten" a book by the author of the comic Total Trauma, instead they put in Gweather, who is also beautiful and of course Alejandro and Heather are queer-platonic. Although outside of the comic book universe I adore Aleheather, they have it all, they both live in my head as canon depending on the weather.
I also think that Duncan should have been left with a character that made him reflect and improve as a character, but I guess it was easier to put him in prison lol.
And Trent only deserved to be happy with someone, my headcanon is that he ends up finding someone outside of the show and he's happy.

Thank you!!! I first joined the show around the time of "In To Deep" (the end of the Cluster Arc), so I initially was fully on board with Lapidot. However, in the subsequent hiatus I watched some of the earlier content including the Barn Arc and by god, Amethyst and Peridot's interactions and chemistry are amazing. Legit some of my favorite episodes are the ones involving those two bouncing off of each other: Too Far, Log Date 7 15 2, Too Short to Ride, Beta, Back to the Kindergarten. They aren't just funny with each other, they legitimately help each other out through situations and help each other to grow. Amethyst helped push Peridot into discovering her powers. Peridot tried helping Amethyst when she was in a slump after losing to Jasper. Amethyst helped Peridot when Lapis took the whole gosh dang house.
By contrast, a lot of Lapidot interactions felt...hollow? Like, obviously everyone's entitled to their own opinions on ships, but I remember being kind of surprised that the Lapidot shippers were celebrating Beta when I feel like the fact that the whole enemies-to-lovers angle that was the initial appeal of the ship (for me at least) was pretty much completely skipped. Lapis doesn't really ever go out of her way to help Peridot after that, and then when she actually finds herself at risk she takes the whole house and leaves Peridot behind. I don't think her Han Solo moment really makes up for it, especially since she didn't actually show any remorse. Tbh though I feel like part of the rub for me is that Lapis outside of her main story (overcoming her experiences with the mirror) was kind of...dull? Like, no where near as engaging as Peridot or Amethyst, in my opinion, at least in terms of humor and entertainment.

Okay, you opened the flood gates so I'm gonna give my Sanders Sides ships of choice and a few opinions.
Logince (Roman and Logan) because their interactions are golden, they have amazing chemistry, and their banter is absolutely on point. I like how they work for one another, as the creativity and the logic, each still able to appreciate the other's aspects even when they clash.
And then Moceit (Patton and Janus).
Okay hear me out. They DEFINITELY are working to balance each other out. They represent complete opposites, but as of recent timeline events, they are working to ensure that there is a healthy balance in the works of morality and deceit. They generally interact well together and you can feel a bit of the pushing it away but its there energy that Janus has. It's even canon that they have been interacting with one another more and having meetings periodically.
From the list, being completely honest, I'm not a fan of Logicality, just because Patton has such a big heart with lots of love to share, and Logan really hasn't shown any sign of appreciating that fully? If it were to happen, it would feel pretty one sided in my eyes, especially after the trip to his room.

I'm still mad about what MLB did to Luka and Kagami, they deserved better. The best MHA ship is Hawks/Endeavor and I barely even watch the show. Thank you for covering Total Drama ships because it's my current hyper fixation. Scott/Courtney was super cute, and worked surprisingly well. Its a shame they ruined it when it would have been so easy to just have Mal frame Courtney by making the chart instead of her. My Total Drama OTP is Mike/Zoey even though its boring, just because Mike and his system are my blorbos and there's no one better to ship him with .

I was not expecting to see a Hamilton ship! A lot of people seem to get the wrong idea and think us Hamilfans ship the actual historical people or the actors. I like to treat the musical as though it is completely fictional, and only ship the characters from said fictional musical. That being said, my favourite ship is probably hamburr (Hamilton x burr) because of its enemies to lovers dynamic and opportunity for angst 😔🖤🖤. I also love your videos! :D
