They both last over 8 hours. Pop them in a dock while you aren't playing and you'll never run out.

Two Eye PS4 has 8 Hours of Battery than Xbox One, the Xbox One Controller barely has 30 Hours of gaming
Xbox has the better battery life I never tried the Xbox controller but from what I have heard the Xbox has a better battery life and I can’t say which one is better comes down to preference

I have both, and for playing for long periods of time, with the Xbox controller I don't get sore thumb tendons because of the more ergonomic design and D-pad placement. BUT the remote is narrower and everything is a bit too bunched together, making it feel a bit awkward to use, especially LB & RB. If it were a little wider, I think it would have the upper hand, but due to its size, the Dualshock 4 is more comfortable to me (personally) overall
Eh , I played on the xbox controller 2 years and then I got a pc and I also bought a ps 4 controller to play fifa , wwe and mortal kombat with it and it fells almost the same as the xbox controller .
Both are really good.
I also thought that when I had just bought the ps 4 controller.
It is only when you have spent some good hours holding the ps controller everyday and start noticing the hand cramps that you get, that you realize how comfortable the 360 controller is compared to the ps4.
This is something you too will learn after months of heavy gaming, trust me.

Did we forget to mention the xbox one battery lasts 30 hours vs 4 hours for the Dual shock 4.
Also I have broken 2 dual shock controllers (trigger on one, joystick on the other) and the xbox one controller is still going.
I love PS4 over Xbox one, but to me the dual shock 4 controller was ergonomically a blessing but mechanically made cheaply.

Ps4 controller just feels better to me idk I love xbox but Sony did something right imo.
Almost All Things Gaming I like them both but I like Xbox better because it feels more comfortable to me, especially when you want to play for a long time.

I use to have a Xbox 360 and really liked the quality and feel of the controller but now I have PS4 and a bunch of games but I noticed PS4 Controllers seem cheap in quality and the analog sticks become glitchy after awhile making it hard to have a steady aim in 1st person shooters, hesitant on spending $500 to go back to Xbox but I did find a gadget that will allow me to play a Xbox controller on PS4, I think Xbox Controllers are better quality and last longer

Xbox's controller, I totally recommend getting one, its all good if you have windows 10 but if you have windows 7 or 8 you have to download a driver, oh and I am pretty sure you cant play wireless on windows 7 and 8.
They forgot to mention the batteries. You can't swap out the battery on a DS4. Once you run out of juice you HAVE to plug it in. You can swap out some rechargeable AA-Batteries on the Xbox and keep on going. That being said, the only DS4 controller I purchased died within a year of owning it. I thought it was the battery, then the charging port but it turned out to be something on the motherboard. Furthermore, the analogue sticks suffered from Drifting, which from what I've read is common on DS4 controllers. On the plus side, I didn't need a dongle to connect my DS4 via Bluetooth. It connected no problem to my Windows 10/11 machine. I had to use DS4windows, but that was a breeze.

I one both consoles but as a shooter fan, the Xbox One controller can’t be beat. The triggers are amazing and the controller is overall comfortable in the hands. It’s a big reason to fall in love with the Xbox One amongst many other things.

I own both but the xbox controller feels way better i think it has to do with the left stick being placed up and to the right. It just feels right i cant explain it.
I like it better especially when I play backwards compatible games. PS4 controller is good but I put it behind Xbox one controller.
I'm using Dual shock 4 just bought it and it's awesome with Steam configuration on PC. The touchpad now can be set to 2 desired button clicks as well. Oh and yes, with USB connection or only with Bluetooth. Both are fine.

My hands are tiny so the PS4 controller fit my hands
I conect my Xbox one controler with bluetooth to my phone for playing Minecraft and Fortnite. I like it more because you can't conect the PS4 controler to another platforms with bluetooth and it is more confortanble. And for who don't know, with the Xbox one controlere you can play on Nintendo Switch 👍.

It really is what you get use to. I am in the same camp with you starting with PS1 -- but I never grew up with an xbox. I still use the PS3 controller on most everything. I find the newer Sony controllers too big --- even though I have large hands. I hate the d-pad layout on both the Xbox and Switch. Just based on how I hold my control, my thumb become sore with these but not Sony's layout. However, I know so many people that would never give up xbox controllers.

Analog sticks are good on both controllers, but I feel like position of sticks on xbox is better when you will get used to it (it's easier to use dpad on xbox)

I didn't have to buy an official DualShock 4 USB wireless adapter.. it works just fine on steam. You can even change the color of the LED light inside the DualShock controller, which is a feature I think we should've got on ps4 in the first place.

I’m a 2D gamer who just picked one up for the iPad. I always steered clear of xbox controllers and systems because of their Dpad design and I think they really hit it out of the park this time... too bad they went ahead and ruined the old school dpad with their next iteration.
PS4 controller is super uncomfortable every time I grab it it feels like the upper controller is higher then the handles Xbox is more comfortable in my opinion tbh

I like both. I find for games that use the R1 and L1 bumpers a lot in (like DMC 5) I prefer the DS4 but for games that use the face buttons and joysticks exclusively / primarily I prefer the Xbox one controller.
You dont now many things about dual shock 4. You can hold the os butting and the share button for some time and you enable bluetooth

the dualshock 4 is also better because you can charge the controller with a charger and the ps4 has one of those charger slits so the charger uses power from the ps4 to charge the controller.
You can do that with the xbox controller too.....and replace the battery if you need to

I am used to XBox controller, but just started using DS4 controller for PS exclusive games. They are very nice in hands but I need to stretch my hands after playing for some time. I would say Xbox controller is better, at least for me.

Having used PS controllers most of my life, i have to say that the moment i tried the 360 controller i never went back, I use it on the PC so the extra functions of the PS4 controller are not something I'm going to use.
There is one thing that bothered me in the PS4 controller, the use of not removable batteries, if it goes out, you either charge or change controller, where the XBox 360/one controllers i just swap the batteries with the cartridge
I beg to differ about the battery part you mentioned. With PS3 and PS4 controllers, all you need is to plug in your controller, and you can still keep playing while it's charging. With 360 and One controllers, you have to go out of your way to buy AA batteries and always make sure you're stocked up. Even rechargable AA batteries become no good relatively quick and can't be recharged, then making you buy more. AA batteries ain't cheap either. I still have my original PS4 controller working after 4yrs. But everything else about the 360 and One controllers I prefer over the PS3 and PS4 controllers.
WhiteWolf - Xbox sells removable & rechargeable battery pack (Play & Charge kit) if you want that. Battery health goes down after time so the removable aspect is a plus.
So you're basically saying that the Xbox controller is better because you actually physically have to change batteries while you can just plug in your PS4 controller and continue the game?
Nasza1109 - What are you trying to get at? They are both physically doing something. Do you have physic abilities to bring the plug over to you? The Xbox setup is better because now you end up being wired with the PS4. It may take a few seconds longer to change batteries but you'll still be back to wireless or plug a cable in also if you want.
Yes but then that’s more money to spend also if you got batteries all the way in the kitchen and you’re in your bedroom playing then OH NO your battery runs out and you gotta walk all the way to the kitchen but you really don’t want to. Yeah. Or if you wake up early you got your Xbox right in front of you your tired and you don’t wanna get up yet so you start playing then OH NO again your battery runs out. I am a Ps4 fan myself but since I never used Xbox controller........I can't judge it.
I had PS3 and Xbox 360 and I liked them both equally. The controllers both felt good and comfortable. I bought a PS4 and the first thing I noticed was how uncomfortable and terrible the PS4 controller was. I quit playing it for like 6 months and then bought an Xbox One S. So much better

One thing I don't like about the PS4 controller with that interal battery because if the battery ever quits working you have to open it up or go spend a 100 dollars and get a new one and the Xbox one controller it's a different story if the recharable battery ever quits you can take the back cover off the controller and replace the battery the Xbox one controller is a lot better than the PS4 controller because the Xbox one s controller offers bluethooth capabilities

I'm not defending those things about PS4, those kinds of poor quality of life decisions seem very typical of Sony to do, such as the ever running and ever presented, permanently enabled and permanently recording software in the PS4, combined with the awfulness of the SHARE function, that is a horrendous concoction they've made. For one, the recording works for everyone, even though most people don't need it, second, SHARE is the ultimate decider and it's, bad, it has an ungodly delay even on the PS4 Pro console and there's simply no excuse for a window with 5 buttons to take that long to open, the first thing it should do above all else when pressing the button, Is OPEN. That should be an absolute.
the only thing I'll give them credit for, which is halved with exactly what you said, as well as some fidgeting around the USB port area on both my PS4 glacier controllers, is that the buttons and triggers are very easy and very compact to use, unlike my experiences with an XBox 360 Wired Controller (www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Wired-Controller-Windows-Console/dp/B004QRKWLA). The latter was acceptable, until the buttons are now getting stuck in place after being pressed, taking 1-2 seconds to go back up and the controller never had as good a feel as the PS4 one.

Where do you live that it costs $100? I take for granted living in the US sometimes. Can be found new on Amazon for $40-42 currently for the Default Black. Around $50-$55 for the colored variants.
But a DS4 is the same price as an Xbox controller... and my battery is still working since launch.... so saying that you could ever have a battery problem is stupid because no one that owns a ps4 and i know, has ever had one. But whatever if you like Xbox more, it's fine your choice

No one talks about the awkward position of L1 R1 shoulder button on the Xbox One Controller. I was surprised when I tried it the 1st time. It hurt my index fingers. This is no small matter. The position is very bad on my hand.

I have the series s controller and the Dualshock 4, I find both of them being really good, the Xbox Series controller feels better in general but the DS4 has an advantage, which is the dpad.
And touchscreen which can be used as a mouse.
Which controller should i buy for pc? Ds4 or xbox controller? Which controller has better analog sensitivity? I mean 0 zero deadzone. And i know xbox had better triggers but ds4 had inbuilt rechargeable battery and touchpad. Im confuse to buy.
