Today we take a look at the Japanese A6M5 Ko, and we'll try to find out wether this plane is worth your money. We'll fly it out and see if it can perform in RB and AB, and after that i'll give you my opinion on the Japanese A6M5.

I dont like AB but I realy enjoyed the last segment of that video! Lots of action! Also love that plane. This is a good grinder for Japanese aircrafts.

Using the A7M1 you reviewed a couple weeks ago to unlock the Japanese tree. My crews are really bad though and I spend more time blacked out than conscious LOL Really enjoy that plane as well though. I might get this one as well sometime in the future. That ending was EPIC! :)

Hey! look at that! the A6M5 Ko! this zero is responsible for unlocking ALL of my Japanese tech tree!. Pulling in 10 to 15k a game! halfway my grind it got downtiered to 4.7 from 5.0 which was nice.
I love it, the guns are great, the only downsides I found are, the ammo load..which was lacking a little bit. Its a flying torch, I cant remember a time that I was not killed by a fire. Furthermore, when on the deck after a dogfight with 2-3 enemy fighter, it feels like the slowest fighter plane at its battlerating. Halifaxes, B25s a little bit above you were a pain!
My opinion: Great plane, very manouvreble in the right hands, but lacks speed and ammo for the Cannons.
She's a beauty indeed! :) all beauty has downsides though ;)

I've had this premium plane for the longest time, but it is also probably one of the last flown fighters. Probably because I suck at turn fighting.
i've not flown it a lot either, but now that i did again, why didnt i fly the zero's more ;)
I always have stealth belts on the 20mms and Universal on the 7.7s so I can see ware I'm shooting, although looking over these beilts , Universal dose have more HEF... I have much to think about.
2and900 - War Thunder Weekly It are the 20 mm which should hut right, not the 7.7's. If you want to use tracer bullets to get right aim have them on 20 mm. But both 20 and 7.7 mm on stealth mode work great too😉
it usually works out ;) its about preference usually with the top belts.

Ah, one of my favourites. I got the discounted pacific pack, my best WT buy, I think. I think that the plane is the same as regular A6M5s, just one gun is different- its definitely worth to try those before the purchase.
Funny thing, jap 7 mms are louder than 20 mms, it was so confusing at the beginning :).

I like Zero turns capability, but the roll rate seems just average. I heard that flight model was not so accurate for slow speed maneuvers.
cheers mate! turnrate is better then the rollrate, but overall maneuverability is brilliant!
Hey Jengar can you make a tutorial on how to evade head-ons? I'm trying to use that same rudder + roll maneuver that you are using but somehow people always manage to get me anyways
make sure to put pressure on them as well, dont make the roll too tight, that keeps you largely on the same trajectory and gives them a bigger chance to hit you. I wont have that done soon ;)
Are tracer belts good for this plane guys? Or should I go with universals? Tracers are much easier for me so far on this plane, but im not sure if it is worth it?

What is the difference between this and the A7M1 premium? From the in-game stats it looks like A7M1 is the better of the two (and the same BR in RB). Thanks for the video Jengar!
The Ko has the bonus of being rank 4, that's about it.
the a7m1 is more versatile, a6m5 is a more specialised turnfighter. But i'd have a hard time choosing between the two. The rank 4 rewards on the ko, does hold advantages if you want to unlock jets with it.
If only Gaijin made a premium Zero painted in a Zero ace's camo (Saburo Sakai)...

I've never understood why Gaijin doesn't implement the sound of the radials on the Zeros, onto every radial in the game that has the shit sound? Stuff like most Japanese fighters, the 190 A-5, etc. You should also be using Tracer shells for those cannons for shooting down fighters.
i dont like tracers usually ;) too much fireworks!

The B-25 is the best USA bomber in tier II and III, IMO! Heavily armed, fast and nice bomb load. Excellent to grind new planes
@@Lemure_Noah I prefer the B34 for low a tier American bomber.

a good one for sure ;) best would depend of what you want to do with it.
I have to admit that i dont really like zeroes too much. I have this plane and it is good but when you have a competent enemy pilot who uses his speed well you cant do much against him. You have to hope for your enemy to make a mistake. Still an awesome Premium:D
I personally like to have the control about when to engage and disengage. I feel like you do not have this control in this plane
That's true its not really effective when a plane has higher altitude then you and is competent pilot but thats where the battle of attrition begins. Usually i have the plane chase me down to lower altitude and force them to crash or stall climb where i will take pot shots with 7.7's and a few 20's. This is only a good plan if its 1v1 or 1v2, any more then that and you will get shot down. Thats why team Work is the best offensive, play as a team and you will win.
i personally feel i do have a lot of control in this plane, but its a preference thing i feel. Teamwork is always a good idea! :)
Bro said it works better in arcade, in air rb, I can do some crazy maneuvers, However in arcade, It takes me 5 seconds to complete a barrel roll, and the turn time and gun damage
its been a while since this review, i'd have to make a revisit to get a feel for the current performance in both modes.

I love the Japanese Fighters so far. But you know what's missing? A plane that behaves like a Tempest V. A plane that can turn quite good, a plane that can climb fast, a plane that has lots of Ammo, a plane that dives down to speeds that exceed 850kmh and a plane that can catch up to other aircraft in a straight line. Especially the last part seems to be missing with a lot of Japanese aircraft, which is quite unfortunate
Yeah, unfortunately there are no planes like that during the war, and adding planes like experimental planes that almost never saw battle is kind of lame since we have no record of how good it was. I can recomend using the J2M series and Ki-84 series, those are great planes that use energy more than turning. However you are usually up against planes that are vastly superior. Your skill as a pilot is tested in the Japanese Branch. GL HF.
lol GG i am flying the J2M3 atm and i have great fun. I haven't unlocked the Ki 84s as of yet
That's great, what about your crews? Japan needs you to be able to have high G's and quick repair and rearm.
j2m's and ki 84's are indeed fitting that role :) and for the turners them crews are indeed vital to use the full potential.
would have been nice in RB to see it in it's main role - fighting usa - Japan vs Ussr usually only has one outcome :)

Zeros in this game are putting out fires left and right. I think Gaijin needs to look at the damage model of them, imo.
