When I was first learning I put 75 miles in a parking lot near the house. That was 2011 on a ninja 250 a year later I comfortably ride a ninja 636. I learned everything from CZcams then went and practiced at night when no cars were around. You are doing great. Singing and listening to music helps you stay relaxed. Being relaxed is key.
I love this channel the MOST because of the Nikki learning videos. I just flushed out of Day 2 of my MSF class and watching this video, after knowing she had significant road time, made me feel SO much better. Rear brake? Who’s got time to think about THAT? (Although one thing I really did do well was the sudden stops). I love that she did some warmup laps around the building before starting drills. Had we had that opportunity instead of diving right into the U-turn box on Day 2 right after mounting up, I might have made it - but for some reason all the clutch and throttle control I worked so hard to achieve by the end of Day 1 was just...GONE. Worse than gone. 😢😳😢 My sweet instructor decided this was not my day, and I agreed with her and walked off the range, to try again another day. My husband is going to help me with parking lot drills and then I’ll go back and nail it. Next step: Go get a dang learner’s permit, which is something I was hoping to avoid. Oh yeah..and a bike. The people on the DDFM Discord server have been soooooo supportive, as I sat there in my car and cried and chatted before heading home in disgrace. Thanks again, to both of you! 🍻

Nikki as you spoke and ride I thought I was listening to and seeing myself. Sun sets early now so no time during the week and a few precious hours on the weekend here and there is all I got now! I am still riding in the cul de sac, doing slow speed maneuvers, and riding in the neighborhood. I’m right there with ya! 😊 We will get it down!

Ride for yourself, if it takes you a while to get out on your own so be it, if you have time check out some of MCrider vids (Kevin). Some people learn to ride faster than others but doesn’t make them better riders. We all keep learning even after a lot of years riding. Have fait in yourself, respect your machine, trust your machine. You’ll get there.

Almost always have a beer or a coffee after a ride. Today was coffee because it was pretty cold for us spoiled Texas folks. Doing a good job.
I dont care for the rectangle inside of the round odometer. They need to change that. Love the bike.

It's so cool to see another girl learner! I'm terrified of turns lol. I dont actually have my licence yet, I'm doing the course to get my learners here in Australia next week. I'm pretty nervous, but again, it's so great and so reassuring to see another girl going through the same things I am.
There certainly seems to be far less women riders in Australia, and it's much harder to get decent women's gear here too. Everything has pink on it like they assume its for a girl it must have pink on it. Also I've found it's really hard to get womens gear in my size, because I'm an XS, everything is small or larger
Could you post a video on how to install the (assuming it’s the one off amazon) gear indicator ? I see where to attach it but now how to weave it up from under the seat to where it is on nikkis bike? I have the same bike and am a new rider and feel like the gear indicator may be helpful !
Ride that clutch it will not hurt it like it will a car. Give it good gas but keep the clutch in the friction zone and use that to work your speed. (crap I will shut up,) you're doing great!;;

Nikki still driving scared after all this time,,she's not a natural rider and sometimes uneed to just have it in you or not. I'm not hating just. saying she should be way more confident by. now. think is too top heavy for her,,,,should have gotten a Honda c.b 500 x with it lowered. I'm short and tryed that bike and I'm disabled w/ weak shoulder muscles and that bike set up that way felt liteasa feather
