      Girl! My story is almost identical to yours! First time female motorcycle rider here at age 50! Been a passenger for years, then my husband bought a Harley a few weeks after my 50th and I started feeling like I didn't want to just be on the back anymore. Bought my first bike for my 50th Christmas! Looking forward to watching your journey!

    Much respect for starting your motorcycle adventure at the age of 50. You're not alone. I'm a 72 year old gentleman who never rode a motorcycle, never sat on a motorcycle but always had a desire. Anyway I decided at age 70 to learn. I to bought my 1st bike before I knew how to ride. I too had a bad experience at the MSF class so much so I failed. I got home depressed and thought well I guess I have to sell my bike. Next morning I thought hell I've never given up on anything. So I went to my DMV office, took the written exam and got my temp permit. On the 1st Sunday I went to the DMV course, took pictures and took measurements of the motorcycle course. I found an unused paved lot where I duplicated the course. I practiced and practiced and practiced. When I thought I was ready I went to take the DMV ride test. Well I froze up and failed. Again depressed I made another test appointment. This time I passed with flying colors. I'm now on my 3rd bike and loving it. So here's to you're never too old to start a new adventure. 👍

    Good to keep at least one finger over your front break and clutch levers at all times for a quick reaction to sudden hazards. Some off road fun can give amazing hazardous condition training, too, ( without cars coming at you). So good to see you and anyone else pursuing a new goal with great enthusiasm! Keep it up! Ride safe.

    Congratulations on your channel! I'm 51 and fell in love with sport bikes a few years ago. Been riding a long time but started on cruisers when in my 20's and waited until I was almost 50 to jump into sport bikes and super sports. Nice job on the vlog and I look forward to seeing more from you.

    I have no idea how or why this video popped up on my recommended list. Good video! I somewhat did the same thing at the same age, but riding and owning a motorcycle was on my bucket list. I've never been unhappy riding my bike. I have 2 bikes now... one to cruise and the other to ride fast. Congrats on your bike and new adventure. A huge happy belated birthday from Fort Walton Beach, Florida!

    I love that you used the proper scientic name "Moo Cow" 😁 When they're in a group, they're called "Moos". Found your comment on Jess's video (Her Two Wheels) and glad I found another aspiring female moto vlogger. I'm 33. Perhaps once my 6 year old is taking care of herself, I'll get a bike and vlog at 50 too 😜

      It’s ALWAYS scientific where cows are concerned. 😆 I grew up in a rural area and had them in the fields that bordered our property. They received names! And take all the time that you need to motovlog or anything else for that matter. I was far too busy being a mom when my son was little to do something like this. And I refuse to believe you can’t try new things at almost any age. Thanks for stopping by and commenting too!

    Hello Ginger Dash Moto, welcome to the motorcycle riding club, your life has changed for the good. :) - I too just started riding again last year at 50 after being out of it for quite a while. I did growing up, then grew up and life took off and I never got the chance to get my own bike until August 2020, and I am so glad I have gotten back into it. I had horses and motorcycles growing up, but never actually owned one of my own until now. I am loving being back on two wheels. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I look forward to newer ride alongs with you. Stay safe and keep the shiny side up and the Rubber side down!

    Just found your channel, and I think that its terriffic that you have taken the plunge and joined the world of motorcycles. You realise now that you will be forever cursed and afflicted with the desire to always want that next bike!! Its ok, just let it happen. Brilliant to see more Women riders/ vloggers appearing on the roads of this world. I'm 62, riding for 47 ofv those years, and I will cease my obsession with motorcycles. It's a world unto itself. Best therapy I have ever found and constantly use to keep myself balanced ( well almost) lol. A pleasure to meet you, on the tube, and a big G'day from a fellow rider in Australia. Hope riding bikes becomes your one of your passions, and remember to always keep the rubber side down. Looking forward to your other videos. Great first effort by the way. Cheers.

    Gina, so happy I came across your motovlog. I am 59 and just bought my first motorcycle, much as 7T1vtte in the comments section, and yes I have 3 bikes and don't know how to ride and have never ridden. I am a car collector, and just afraid of riding on the road, due to some of these drivers. I have learned a new respect for motocyclist and stay away from them and give them the room they deserve. Just got my learners and hopefully will be riding this summer. Thanks for your boost of encouragement and all the rest in this volg for their words of wisdom.. awesome work on the your vlog.

    As a woman, it's really great to hear from female riders because I think we can relate to each other better than we can to men and vice versa because of our general size. It's really tough getting advice from a 6'2" 210lb man when I'm 5'5" 150lb because their experience will be completely different than mine. I don't have a bike yet, but I have a plan to get one and it's really nice to hear from riders to get advice, expectations, etc. So thank you.

    Great story! I have been a firefighter/EMT for most of my life and in the course of my job had seen accidents involving motorcycles and always shied away from them. When I retired (the first time) from the career fire department I worked at I got my first motorcycle at the age of 50 for a retirement present. I have enjoyed it ever since.

      @GingerDashMoto  Před 3 lety +2

      That’s interesting, James. My dad was an EMT all throughout my childhood. He told a particularly gruesome story about a motorcycle accident one time that stayed with me my entire life. It’s all about risk versus reward where two wheels are concerned in my opinion. AND being as situationally aware as possible. 🤷🏻‍♀️😊

    I'm not quite sure how CZcams decided to show me your channel, but I'm so glad it did! I never even rode on the back of a motorcycle until I was 50 and my husband bought himself a bike as a 50th birthday present (he had ridden a lot when he was younger). I rapidly went from "I'll go with you once in a while" to "you know, if something happened, I should be able to get this home". Two years after that first ride, I took my MSF basic class and I bought my own motorcycle... and I'm so glad to be where I am in this adventure! It's good to see that I'm not the only one who has begun this journey in my 50s...
