  • @lyconxero457
    @lyconxero457 Před 2 lety +27

    It's weird that you so easily throw out the argument about all the 4x weaknesses for Rhyperior not being enough to exclude it from being the best ground type over something like Ursaluna because that's a HUGE DEAL in a game where speed and type advantage is king. Not to mention the fact that water and grass types and attacks are PLENTIFUL in Hisui to the point that even Alpha Rhyperiors go down in one shot from an energy ball or a hydro pump even without STAB. Plus, with the changes to the way Pokemon trainer battles occur in the game you're not likely to get more than one attack off (assuming you survive the first) because the opponent can just switch in and still have the turn advantage over you.

  • @Hargazer
    @Hargazer Před 2 lety +11

    Making another comment but here's my thoughts on the best per type:
    Dragon: Hisuian Goodra
    Steel: Hisuian Goodra
    Grass: split between Roserade and Liligant. The latter may not have a wide movepool, but she has nearly everything she wants and makes the most out of it, I can't ignore that just for the sake of movepool.
    Poison: Roserade. Gengar is quite frail already and the ground weakness is rather critical considering how widespread ground moves are.
    Ghost: Gengar, because he's easier to get early than Frosslass
    Fire: Infernape
    Fight: Infernape. Whilst I could say that Liligant has a similar situation as with Roserade, Infernape is slightly better as it's too dominant.
    Bug: Scizor, it has better resistances and immunities than Heracross.
    Rock: Rhypherior
    Ground: Ursaluna. Not only is Rypherior slower, it has a 4x weakness where it's in trouble even from non stab grass and water moves. You can't ignore that in close comparisons.
    Normal: Ursaluna
    Fairy: Gardevoir
    Psychic: Gardevoir. Mostly because of the better typing
    Water: Definitely Samurott
    Dark: Weavile. Samurott has nice stats and a nice movepool to go around with, but Weavile's movepool and stats really speak for themselves here. Very powerful and hard to deal with due to the battle system.
    Ice: Weavile because of how easy it is to get him compared to Frosslass
    Electric : Luxray, because he's earlier available despite Electivire being faster.
    Flying: Togekiss, though you can make the argument that Staraptor doesn't need a wide movepool because it has the tools to perform its role

    I would say that Scizor is the best bug type pokemon, Bug/Steel > Bug/Rock imo. Its very easy to get a steel coat and you can get scyther early in the game. I would want to consider Hisuian Zoroark for best ghost and best normal type, its just unfortunately so late into the game that there's better options to continue using throughout playthroughs, (I can see it as an excellent contender for Nuzlocke teams however.)

    • @Hargazer
      @Hargazer Před 2 lety +4

      I would agree, especially when you consider that even back in gen 4, Scizor was the better bug. Both do the most with their movepools, but Scizor's typing gives it an edge due to how it gives scizor nice immunities and resistances. Personally I'd say Scizor > Heracross > Kleavor.
      For H-Zoroark, I think it depends on whether it can get what it needs from its movepool and how worth the wait he is

    Few things, you CAN get turtwig before basculegion. It's not easy, but with soem fancy cliff climbing with wyredeer you can get it before going to the coast. Roserade IS still better, but it's at least there.
    ursaluna is the best ground imo. the sheer COVERAGE available to it with play rough, all the elemental punches, shadow claw, rockslide/stone edge,it's unique "close combat but ground". It also doesn't have a x4 weakness and beign immune to ghost is BIG in the final fight. For me its is NOT close for best ground.
    For bug i quite like yanmega. Available early, no item needed to evolve, gets JUST enough good options from move tutors/level up(Bug buzz, air slash, shadow ball, psychic, ancient power. Not sure i'd say it's better than heracross, but it is still good

    • @LexYeen
      @LexYeen Před 2 lety +1

      You don't even need fancy cliff climbing, just grab some stealth spray and smoke bombs, go around the lake in the crimson mirelands instead of trying to cross the river, and head for the south-east corner of the map. That little hidden pond down there has Turtwig and Grotle (maybe even torterra?) spawn on the south side, and it is _entirely_ possible to go around the pond on its west side - just chuck some smoke at the pathway first, spray yourself down, and go slow so you don't slip.

  • @PansyPops
    @PansyPops Před 2 lety +90

    I am so surprised that Lilligant isn’t number 1 for the grass type, considering how incredibly broken it is. Granted, the x4 weakness to Flying is big, but you rarely would send any grass types out against Flying types anyway.
    The signature move Victory Dance is so strong, it’s impossible to turn down. It grants boosts your attack stats, defence stats, plus gives you 50% extra damage- which is incredible. If you use it first turn (Agile Style, as it’s essentially no different and possibly allows you to move twice) there is essentially no counter. You can use Drain Punch to get back any HP the opponent chips off, or immediately use Close Combat if you get to move twice. Leaf Blade is also a great STAB grass move you can use, and a great (and only) option for a grass move.
    The biggest problem, of course, is the shallow move pool. The only physical coverage it has access to is Poison Jab, Aerial Ace and Giga Impact. Giga Impact is probably the best candidate, as there is no cooldown after, but it’s still really shallow and certainly leaves more to be desired.

Later obtained Pokémon tend to have a higher level at acquisition, so it takes less work to level them up. In future maybe include late game Pokémon, to help plan the best possible team to fight the hardest boss?

    I still hold H-Lilligant as the best grass type in this game.
    Fast, powerful, and the 2nd best utility move in Victory Dance. Only Shelter is better, and that one is a purely defensive boost. With Agile Victory Dance, Lilligant's next attack is going to one shot anything that doesn't resist, and even then.
    Its coverage is small and its movepool isn't as good as Roserade's but it kinda doesn't need that good coverage. Leaf Blade, Drain Punch/Close Combat, Poison Jab/Giga Inpact, and Victory Dance is a solid set of moves.
    And if you don't need a third attack outside of your STABs, then you can stick in a status move like Stun Spore or Sleep Powder or even Recover if you're running Close Combat... Lilligant is amazing! Roserade is a fine special counterpart for it though

Moves like Giga Impact doesn’t have the recharge time in Legends Arceus unlike in other mainline games so you can easily spam a 120 normal type attack with no negative effects. Plus your stuck with a Ryhorn until level 42 while you can a Ursaring at level 30 until you find a Peat Block.

    Dark and Steel-types are both surprisingly sparse in Hisui(though the steel types make sense from a lore standpoint), but even more-so if you’re specifically talking *good* Dark or Steel-types that can actually serve the purpose you’d be adding them to your team for.
    If I remember correctly, aside from Goodra, Empoleon and Lucario are the only two particularly usable Steel-types that don’t come from a Spacetime Distortion, and they’re both late-ish encounters in the game.
    With Dark-Types there’s at least a little more leeway for reasonably useable options depending on how you want to play. Mystic chose Samurott(which I largely agree with) but there’s a bunch of other options including:
    Drapion
    Umbreon
    Weavile
    Overqwil
    Spiritomb(but only if you’re literally insane)

    I Think Rotom Deserves a Place As Best Electric Type. There is A lot of Ways To Use Rotom Offensively and Defensively Due to The Many Forms It Has, Making It Pretty Easy to Fit on a Team For Your Needs. I Also Think Thunder Wave and Hex is a Very Dangerous Combo That Can Devastate Opponents, Especially if you Go Agile Style Into a Strong Style. While Getting the Mechanical Items Needed to Do This Can be a Hassle, Due to the Many Ways to Make Money and The Easy Way to Reset Ginter's Items, It Shouldn't Be Too Much of a Problem.
    Luxray Can be a Temporally Member Before you Get Rotom At the Coronet Highlands, Which At Pretty Common At Stonetooth Rows At Night. They Will Be Around Lvl 43-46, So It Will Match Up With The Lvls Of your Current Pokémon At That Point in the Game.
