Quick update I missed in the video: To verify your Avatar Life account, you're required to upload a real-life ID document, like a passport, driver's license, or any other government-issued ID card. Plus, the name on this document must match the name on the PayPal account you use to purchase Av$. This is a major red flag for me. Also, it seems spell check isn't on their priority list. Stay informed and cautious.

I've never heard of this Avatarlife, thank you for profiling it. As one who is a builder in Second Life, I'm very bothered that content creations are being used seemingly without the Second Life creator's permission. So I'll not even go there even to explore. My home is in Second Life.

You're definitely not missing out, especially as a Second Life resident. Exploring Avatarlife feels quite bland in comparison to SL. The fact that both platforms are similar might explain why items from SL can be ported to Avatarlife, though I'm not entirely sure about the technical specifics. The most important thing is to stay where creativity and respect for creators' rights flourish, and that's undoubtedly Second Life.

At SL i found a lot of copybot. And whrn i was at Avatarlife, i saw they dont copy by themselves The things were brought ftom OS.
I really think if you are talking so hard about Avatarlife is cause they are growing a lot. People is great there, such friendly, and the support is amazing and quick, not as SL is. We dont need pay to have good support. And Avatarlife begin 3 years ago as a betting place. They have just 1 year as social and RP place. And they are having new creators... if a creator has an account at Avatarlife, i know they take off all the copies from another OS. I suffering that... 😉
And Second Life is a crap. A lot of lag everywhere and all commercial places. The nice places for play or jhst chat with friends are gone. Is all about money, not fun. And a lot a people. like me, want fun.

I love Avatarlife! You do not need a paid membership to get free land, you can get 1/4 SIM with 3750 prims...FREE. People in Avatarlife are very kind. Also, which was not mentioned in this video, Firestorm is compatible with Avatarlife. Also, if anyone joined back in the beginning of Secondlife, they know how things were glitchy and not as they are today. AvatarLife, yes is a new platform and growing and improving daily. I am a builder and creator in Secondlife, but have moved my items to AvatartLife and yes, my items sell. I am so glad I found Avatarlife, I rarely log into Secondlife anymore. As far as the items you find in Avatarlife, that you also see in Secondlife, they are FREE, never ever sold to make a profit. I find it amusing this video, nobody is trying to compete nor take down Secondlife. She points out the marketplace...oh I remember Secondlife's XSTREET Market, that you had to put L's into an ATM to buy from it, then you had to be sure you were online to even receive your purchase. So this video is comparing apples to oranges. This all said, whichever world you choose to be in...Remember...Always be kind!

The FREE items you are raving about are all stolen items created by people who put countless hours into them, people who create content that makes others happy for a living. Your complaints that the items in second life are not free, when we have lots of sales, gifts, hunts and giveaways is astonishing, nobody is entitled to someone else's art.
You may not find value in 3D art but this work is protected by law. Ask your internet provider why they are not working for free and give you free internet access. Just because something is digital does not mean you can take it.
Your complaint about spending one dollar on an item someone worked for weeks on is really truly ignorant. Maybe you should start working for free too, then you might find a shred of "kindness" in your heart for artists who work hard to make Second Life what it is. You talk of kindness but you have none for the people who made the stolen items your avatar wears.

I still have an old version on my Win XP laptop that I sometimes check out for nostalgia of the pioneer days. There are/were good Opensim grids that had a thriving community, such as Craft Grid, which was all about free and open source creativity. Currently, my main internal drive is on Fedora 40 Beta, with Plasma 6, Wayland, and Hyprland. But I do use Arch, Garuda being my favorite Distro in the Arch fork of distros. ArcoLinux behind it, since both have versions of their distros with Hyprland pre-installed. I had to install Hyprland manually on Fedora, and it took about 2 tries before I got it working as well as I wanted it to.
Anyways, Avatar Life is what it is. Unfortunately, many OpenSim grids are dying out. 3rd Rock Grid had to close because one maintainer left and can't be found again, and another died. The remaining maintainers don't know how to get into their server, so they decided to close it all down. 3rd Rock Grid had been one of the more active community grids since as far back as 2009.

Also to mention, they can convert everything they've worked on in SL without too much work and run both with no real financial risk to themselves. @@tessdeleeuw9441 Many creators dip their toes in many different virtual worlds and games to make more income that is not something new and does not mean they've left Second Life 😂 also just because someone has a differing opinion than your own does not mean they were paid to express that opinion. You saying that "Surely there are items from other creators but then go then any opensim and you will find the same items out there for ages" is you simply trying to condone content theft, if avatar life is so great! they should be able to mesh all of their own stuff from the ground up. They allow the theft to continue simply because they're unable to create anything unique and sustainable which is why they wont last. They will continue to attract users who just expect everything to be free in turn their world will never grow.

Will someone reimburse original creators for the stolen content that is distributed without our permission for free and for sale in the Avatarlife? I have spotted my own content in the very PROMO videos by AvatarLife. Majority of the content I have seen is stolen. I never gave permission to copybot my items and place them on their grid.
